    What the heck...

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) It used to be Ashlee Simpson Michael Jackson.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) So has Brian been sent down yet? Rumors all over the place that it's about to happen. The quotes I read this morning suggested it would probably happen while we're playing Cleveland, IIRC.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) We have a good attendance, we are the defending world champions and are .5 games out of first place in June. WTF are we still talking about media bias and crap like this. NO ONE CARES IF THERE ARE 5 STORIES ABOUT THE CUBS AND 4 STORIES ABOUT THE SOX on X day. No one is making you click on the threads.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) Kind of like a Jay Mariotti of the politico set. Except if everyone agreed with Mariotti, people wouldn't wind up dead.
  6. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) Both Teams are scary to me. The Indian Bullpen is very good, and their hitting is going to wake up sooner or later. The Tigers are just like the SOX of 05 (but theyre getting press), and will only make themselves better next year. I told some Tiger fans last nite, they should be proud of their team and this division, its going to be very competitive for years to come The Indians bullpen is 3rd worst in the AL with an ERA of nearly 5, and their offense is #2 in baseball.
  7. Time for Jon to stay on track, get rid of these bastards, put them in 2nd place...and most importantly... PITCH WITH SOME BALLS
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) I can't be the only one who just doesn't care. Then don't click.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) He's twirled a gem through 6. Good lord, what time did this game start?!
  10. Success! The Walton family bailout bill has gone down in flames for now.
  11. Hmmm , seems, there's some interesting elements to this after all. Those are the sort of quotes/events which suggest that there might have been a power struggle at the top of Zarqawi's group, which got to the point that one of the rivals decided to have Zarqawi removed by telling the U.S. where he was.
  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) Interesting about Hunter, I wonder what Minny was asking for? 14 HGH kits and 300 doses of amphetimines
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:58 AM) It appears that way from what they say at the end: That's the thing that's been driving me nuts about the kid too, I can't find a single obvious thing he's doing wrong at the plate. With a guy like Uribe, or when Crede stops hitting, usually the mechanical mistake they're making is obvious (and it's usually flying open way too early and trying to pull an outside pitch). But with Anderson, I haven't seen him doing that, he looks like he's keeping his shoulders closed, he's taking a short stride, he's shifting his weight, he looks like he's doing everything right, except every time he hits the ball it goes straight at someone. Maybe the kid needs glasses.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:54 AM) Either way we go, it's a risk to Brian's developement. The question is, which is the bigger risk? Right now, if he can't get any hits at all, then the bigger risk is keeping him up. If Walker is right, and this is entirely a mental problem with him, then if he can't pick up a few hits up here, we're gonna have to send him down before he starts screwing with his mechanics and it winds up being more than just a mental problem.
  15. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) The pitch I'm talking about has right to left break though. He threw it to get the K against Granderson yesterday and it was clocked at 87. He's throwin it sparingly this year, but when he throws it, if it's in the strike zone, good lord is it nasty. I've been calling it a Slider, and I think our announcers have too. But as fast as it comes up there it could be something else I guess.
  16. Darrin Erstad suffered a rehab setback, and may wind up out for the season. Eric Gagne had stiffness in his surgically repaired elbow after his first save earlier this week. He's out for at least the next few days. Esteban Loaiza will come off the DL to face the Indians tonight. The Orioles are shuffling up their coaching staff. The D-Rays activated Casey Fossum off the 15 day DL.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:19 AM) Why, you people who will claim election shennanigans. :rolly If needing to win a Congressional election gives Bush motivation to actually go in and capture/kill Bin Laden (and Zawahiri) and actually cut off the head of the snake, then I could care less if people claim election shenanigoats. They haven't been motivated to find those guys for 4+ years, and I'd be thrilled if losing an election gave them a reason to go and do so.
  18. So, there have been at least a couple folks around who have mentionned Darrin Erstad as a possible candidate to replace Anderson in CF. Despite the fact that I think it's a bad idea on it's face, it's now looking to be almost impossible. Erstad has suffered a rehab setback, and it looks like if he doesn't go in for surgery, he'll be making a mistake.
  19. Detroit still scares me more right now, for a couple reasons. 1. Pitching. Even with people hurting, Detroit simply has more of it. The only pitcher Cleveland has I'd really enjoy having on my team is Captain Cheeseburger. Detroit has a bunch of really good arms. 2. Coaching. Jimmy Leyland is a damn good coach at keeping his team fighting.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:05 AM) Too obvious. It needs to be closer to the election, but not close enough that they don't get the bounce in opinion polls. If he winds up dead, who the Hell cares when it happens? QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:13 AM) An image taken from TV footage shows what the U.S. military in Iraq said is a picture of a dead Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, at a televised news conference in Baghdad June 8, 2006. (Reuters TV/Reuters) The thing I want to know is...how many legs did he have?
  21. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) I see your point, but it's frustrating to see us throw away games we should have won. We've done that 5 times in the last week. We should be up by a lot more then just half a game right now. We've done that probably 10-15 times this year already.
  22. Balta1701

    Crede

    Still...that throw was absolutely insane.
  23. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Help me out here: what's Jose's ERA now? 2.54.
  24. Offense and bullpen hold it together to get Jose the much deserved win. Hell of a tough outing for Jose but he got through it. His longest outing of the year. Alex, Jim, Jermaine, nice work. And someone punch Crede in the face. Crede and Cora owe Mrs. Uribe some flowers.
