  1. The good news...that's a hitting lineup against a quality pitcher. The other good news? Jose's strikeouts. Let's get up on these guys early Sox!
  2. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) Well i guess that heroic leap into the stands didn't damage his yarbles...... The, um, night would have to have happened before the playoffs.
  3. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) My Caption: "Just shoot me now!" My friends Andy from the NSA and Duke from the Service will be in touch shortly. Hi Andy!
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Then how do you explain the number of Cub Fans in Chicago?? Alcohol.
  5. Well, Bush is almost down to 2 years left in office...might as well have something for him to do once he's out.
  6. Anyone have any reccomendations for a decent 220V to 110V international stepdown voltage convertor?
  7. Tennessee should be embarassed about how they've handled this whole situation.
  8. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) 35 walks in 62 innings for Tracey. don't get too excited. Walked 76 in 154 innings last year and 69 in 148 the year before. big league hitters will make him throw it over the plate. If he's missing with some pitches, but missing inside, I might not have as much of a problem with it. I'll take 1 walk every 2 innings if he keeps his ERA under 5.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) I don't give a s*** if they implicate numerous former or current White Sox players, I just really want to see some names thrown out there. This whole thing should lead to a blood test for HGH, Grimsley's situation should make the human growth hormone problem a major focal point. I have one or two who I think might wind up on such a list, but seriously, I think we may have had one of the cleanest programs in the game for those few years, simply because who's going to disagree with Frank?
  10. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:23 PM) Seeing how some of the sox other prospects and pitchers have done in the NL [Rauch, Majewski, Luis Vizcaino], they should love dealing with the sox. The Sox could be OK dealing Haeger and another arm like Tracey. They likely won't see the sox roster with thier suspect control. They also need a catcher. One of either Stewart or Molina could be extra weight, with AJ signed for 3 yrs. Clark probably won't cost the sox a top 10 prospect. But if it was for a guy who didn't fit with the sox, like a Sean Tracey, it'd be worth it. Didn't fit in = called up today I think we can't really afford to dump Stewart, just because he looks set to take the Widge's role next year. Molina might be manageable, but we do need to have a ML ready catching backup for next season, even if all he does is hit .200.
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) The cream will make you move your pieces faster. And you wind up with this wierd desire to beat the crap out of a castle. Ever since THG was introduced into the professional chess circuit, there's been a rash of people going on the 60 day DL with broken hands.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) I think alot of people on here are going to turn on sir walks alot quickly. If he walks a lot of people, and can't turn those walks into GIDP, yeah, we will.
  13. I didn't know Steroids helped you with Chess too. Damn!
  14. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) This is not good at all. NO wonder the guys been terrible all season. Cotts too. We are officially in trouble now with only 1 reliable bullpen person (2 if you want to count McCarthy). Not good at all (the other site would ban you at this point for "worrying" heh heh) Last year in April, Cotts had a 3.86 ERA, and a 3.00 ERA in May. This year, Cotts was at 3.27 in April and 2.53 in May. Clearly he's been terrible.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) Lumsden, Tracey and Owens for Brady Clark and Matt Wise...? I'd do that.
  16. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Sounds nice in theory, but why give up prospects for Clark when you're going to need them for bullpen help? Because we have more than 1 prospect to trade, and the nice thing about a Brady Clark is that in theory he shouldn't cost more than 1 top and 1 mid level prospect, at least in my book, given that he's not all that far from FA.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) Well, Ozzie did state yesterday that Brandon is his new right handed setup man and I doubt Tracey gets any time in any close and late situations. I'm not as much concerned about Close and Late as I am about Brandon getting enough work overall. We get 3 laughers in a row, suddenly Montero and Tracey get all the work, BMac comes out rusty in the 1 run game when we really need him.
  18. Please Ozzie...don't get Tracey work at the expense of McCarthy. Hopefully the DL stint helps Clifford. Maybe get a few MPH back with some rest.
  19. And as we all know, the Brewers and White Sox have a good recent trading history. And the brewers probably wouldn't mind getting a little bit younger. What is Clark's contract status?
  20. Coming behind against a very hot reliever yesterday? In the 8th inning? To make Detroit feel worse? Know what that took? That took balls. Take care of business tonight Jose. Offense, you too. We get out to an early lead and we really start demoralizing Detroit.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:38 AM) And that's when he got hurt Playing CF? I didn't know they ID'd when he got hurt that specifically.
  22. Eric Gagne recorded his first save in over a year last night. Roy Oswalt hit the 15 day DL yesterday. Milton Bradley was activated yesterday by the A's after a month on the 15 day DL. The A's also activated Reliever Jay Witasick. Chris Carpenter was placed on the 15 day DL retroactive to last month. He hopes to only miss 1 more start. Cliff Floyd turned his ankle yesterday. Jose Reyes DNP with a sore wrist. Philly Phenom Cole Hamels picked up his first ML win. Dustin Nippert will make his ML Debut for the Diamondbacks today. Zach Jackson will make his first ML Start for the Brewers today. Reds 3b Edwin Encarnacion also turned an ankle yesterday. Anything you Cantu I cantu better, including coming off the DL. Boston recalled P Craig Hansen, their first round pick in 05, to shore up their bullpen. Bengie Molina was plunked in the hand yesterday. Larry Bigbie was placed on the 15 day DL by the Cards. Jeter missed his 2nd straight game. Cy Mays has been called up by the Reds.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) You know you loved it when he did his little kissy thing to the camera after hitting a homerun, it's so damn cute. I enjoyed being in the 3rd row behind home plate at the end of his like 12 consecutive strikeout streak against White Sox pitching.
