  1. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) To put it into short term... He is the A.J. Pierzynski of soxtalk. (Beans kalapse)
  2. Cole Hamels hit the 15 day DL with a shoulder strain. Jorge Posada has a sore hamstring and will miss at least 1 game. He'll undergo an MRI and we'll know more shortly. Jaret Wright may also miss his next start. Johnny Damon has a foot injury that held him out of yesterday's game. Also, everyone on the Yankees has gone on the DL.
  3. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) The Tigers got some dude named Jack Hannahan starting at 1B. Who the f*** is that? Money says Chris Berman nicknames him "Jungle Jack Hannahan" if he stays up for a while.
  4. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) He's put up better #'s than Beltre throughout his career. Not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that this season, you don't have to do to much to put up better numbers than Beltre's .211 Batting average, and Ramirez is doing better with his whopping .234 BA.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) what is difficult to understand about his quote? One of them is saying he likes the way the Sun Times is shaped because it's like a tabloid magazine and is therefore easier to read. 2k5 then took that as saying that the Sun Times printed news like it was a tabloid magazine (i.e. including Mariotti, etc.), and said he preferred the Trib because it was not so much into sensationalism. They're both talking about different aspects of the tabloids.
  6. Maroth was shelled today and supposedly his arm wasn't feeling too good before he pitched.
  7. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) The Tigers got some dude named Jack Hannahan starting at 1B. Who the f*** is that? He came up from AAA when Dimitri Young beat his path to the DL.
  8. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Ramirez has an escape clause in his deal. I'll bet he voids it and demands an Adrain Beltre-esque deal. He's put up better numbers than Beltre. Thus far, he's having an Adrian Beltre-esque season, so why not get a Beltre like contract? (And by a Beltre-esque season, I'm excluding 04.)
  9. Maroth is no longer going to be ahead of Buehrle in the ERA race. That should move Mark solidly into 4th.
  10. Murray Waas of the national Journal is now running with saying that Rove and Novak may have conspired together to create a story not implicating Rove in the CIA leak (which would be obstruction of justice if true). TIFWIW, but this guy has been doing some pretty good work on this case.
  11. Sadly, the Congressional Black Caucus is now going full-bore to defend this guy. They'll probably defend him to the bitter end too.
  12. Hey, the "Who's reading this topic" thing is working again. Yay!
  13. Current guesstimates are on the order of 20-30 year sentences. The State of California finally gets a little bit of payback, thanks to the Feds.
  14. ABC stuck to their story overnight, despite the DOJ denials.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) I agree on all but Pods. He'll get 1-3 games. I'm not sure about Pods...yeah he did a lot, but he was also RIGHT THERE when it happened, it's not like he was coming out of the dugout, AJ was sucker punched right in front of him, what was he supposed to do, nothing?
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) Whats Boyers Email? bboyer at chisox dot com worked for me last time.
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 25, 2006 -> 07:45 AM) That's "key" for sure. More federal govt control over us. Not just the illegal immigrants, or the legal immigrants but all of us. If you're not an illegal immigrant, what do you have to hide?
  18. So that's why he was beaned in the head yesterday.
  19. Mr. Skilling, the forecast is for a long time in Jail. Same for you Kenny Boy. Bye bye.
  20. So, if both he and his wife have it, clearly it's related to something in their environment.
  21. And yet all this page does is give Mariotti more press...exactly as he wants.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:43 AM) Without Mackowiak in the starting lineup last night, we don't win the game. And Dye's just as much to blame on the dropped fly ball as Mackowiak is. Also....anyone who thinks that Anderson would have gotten a hit off of Haren last night is nuts. Righties only had 1 hit last night against A's pitching. Slightly off topic...but with Crede scuffling and Mack whacking the ball right now, now might be an ideal time to give Rob a couple of starts at 3rd and let Crede get some extra rest/batting cage work...especially when we don't have the ground ball pitchers (Mark & Jon) on the mound.
