  1. QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) I'd say McCarthy should start getting up in the pen....but we know Vazquez will stay in for the 5th. He should be in until the A's get to 5.
  2. 30 pitch inning for JV. 60 pitches overall through 3.
  3. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) tonight looks like a good night to see Jeff Nelson! couldnt agree more. Dude, it's the 3rd inning...wait a little bit before you're calling for the pen. Javy hasn't been THAT bad...yet.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Good job Vaz. Crosby isn't a great player, but he's a very good leader for the A's. What did he do to Crosby?
  5. 30 pitches for Javy through 2, 16 strikes.
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) *Knock on wood* Wouldn't it be great to have 3 guys with over 100 RBI? *knock on wood* *taps kerry wood's arm. Kerry wood's arm falls off.*
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:27 PM) Another amazing AB by Uribe. He should be fined every time he hits the ball to left field. I like the Willie Mays Hayes pushups. Every popup is 20.
  8. 32 pitches for Sarloos in the first inning.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) Saarloos will settle down after this inning and pitch 6 perfect innings. As long as Javy does his job, who the hell cares? Last year, you give our guys 4 runs and it was over.
  10. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) JD right now may be the most underrated player in teh AL If he hadn't had those injury problems in Oakland, he'd be looking at a dynamite career.
  11. 12 pitch first inning for JV> QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) He fits our needs a lot better than those minor leaguers did. A lot is going to depend on how he's used. Maybe more so than anyone else in our bullpen.
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Hurt Willie if this is wrong; I'm just the messenger. Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B Thome, DH PK, 1B Dye, RF AJ, C Crede, 3B Mack, CF Uribe, SS Vazquez, SP Time to hurt willie...(Wait, that sounds really bad...) Pods, LF Cintron, 2b Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Dye, RF Pierzynski, C Crede, 3B Mackowiak, CF Uribe, SS
  13. Javy...just take care of business tonight.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 23, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) In the early 90s: yes. Now: no. So where do you pitch to Frank now?
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) The Orioles wanted Zambrano in the deal. Every executive in baseball knows that Prior's injury issue isn't in his arm/shoulder/elbow....it's in his vagina. The Abreu rumors were for Prior straight up...
  16. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 23, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) So basically he's not injured...he's scared! Nice. I also heard that Prior's father was not a fan of the Cubs organization and how they handle his prize son. I bet he wishes he had just gone to the Yankees just as much as the Cubs wish they had traded him. Sounds like a match made in the bowels of Hades.
  17. The Yankees placed pitcher Shawn Chacon on the 15 day DL. He had a hematoma in his left leg drained yesterday. They recalled outfielder Terrence Long to take his roster spot. Orioles Pitcher Hayden Penn was called up and scheduled to make his first start of the season yesterday, when he suddenly had to have his appendix removed. Onto the 15 day DL goes he. David Wells will eat his way to his first start since April this Friday. Players only meeting for the Royals. Please just win 1 against Detroit? Pretty Please? Gary Sheffield went 1-3 in a AA rehab start. He's now on his way to join the big league club. The Twinkies placed Shannon Stewart on the 15 day DL and recalled Jason Kubel. Carl Pavano hopes to pitch again this season. Surgery now, bone spurs in elbow. Thank God the Yankees spend their money on these sorts of guys.
  18. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 23, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) I want to see a really hot Finals So, you're rooting for the Heat then?
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 23, 2006 -> 11:23 AM) Now the laughing has restarted my cough, thx Balta. Hey, I grew up in NW Indiana, so I'm never far from my cough restarting either. And I thought laughter was supposed to be the best medicine? That graphic is still classic.
  20. A BAC of 0.20% means 1 gram of alcohol per in each 500 grams of an individual's blood. Because blood is mostly water, the density of blood is roughly 1 g/mL, just as water. That means a BAC of .2 is equivalent to 2 g alcohol per liter. A 7.27 g/L BAC would therefore be a BAC of about .73 in U.S. units, doing very rough conversions.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) If the last few years of injuries haven't woke up his attitude towards change, the guy is a lost cause anyways. Paging David Clyde... I figured if he was ever going to figure it out...with his injuries from 2004, combined with the locker room disasters, the Steve Stone mess, and so forth, he'd finally have worked to fix his mechanics when he showed up in 2005. The moment he started struggling in like his 2nd or 3rd game back, he was back to the old Kid K, and back on the operating table.
  22. Bill Frist, Dennis Hastert, Newt Gingrich and others step forwards to complain about the fact that the FBI searched Mr. Jefferson's offices, the first time in history the FBI has done that with a sitting Congressperson. Birds of a feather... But if they have nothing to hide, they have no reason to worry about the searches, right?
  23. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 23, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) I must know 10 people, including myself who curently have the meanest cold they've ever had in their lives. I feel like I swallowed broken glass. Death from above: Bird Flu is going to kill everyone.
  24. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 22, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) Yea I can really see that happening even though I don't like judging a man who has only 321 career ab's and only 79 this season. The only thing I will say that's dissapointed me about Casey is his lack of power. He did shows signs last season in only 126 abs with 7 hr's and I've always liked his plate disapline. Man when you talk about a guy who could be traded and then be on the Angels "worst trades in history" (depending on who they get) its Kotchman. Kotchman's problem this year, especially in the power department, may stem from the fact that he's basically been sick since the start of spring training. Mono, IIRC.
