  1. 7 pitch inning for Kazmir. These guys must like having him on the mound.
  2. 55 pitches for Brandon through 3. If they pull him after 70 he won't even finish 4.
  3. 11 of his last 12 in SB, with him reaching 2nd on an error on the CS. Sadly, I do have to ask, what's the point of stealing 3rd there? The only thing it does is it allows him to score on a WP. A single knocks him in from 2nd, and there's no Sac Fly here.
  4. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) Hmm, never heard of 'em. But I'm sure if Scotty were their spokesman, I would have heard of them. www.Pods.com
  5. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) Scotty Pods sounds like the name of a cereal. I want to make Scotty Pods cereal. You know that moving company "Pods", the one that delivers a box to your home, you pack it yourself, and they move it for you? I can't for the life of me figure out why he's not their spokesperson. Not only is the name right, but there's so many puns on his speed that you can come up wiht.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) Yes, he's been kicking ass this year. Top 5 in RBI if I remember right. Tied with Gomes and Big Papi for #9 in the AL after that blast, unless Ortiz has an RBI today.
  7. This is how Mac hurt himself early last year.
  8. $200 billion : the new value of the main lawsuit over this program, now that both Bellsouth and AT&T have been added along with Verizon.
  9. 29 pitch first inning for Kazmir. 13 strikes.
  10. Of course, 2/3 of Kazmir's pitches are balls, and AJ still swings at the first pitch.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) Very very small zone. Hopefully Bmac has his control. Hopefully they'll be swinging at the changeup.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Cleveland irrelevant right now. Cleveland was 16-21, and 10 games back of the White Sox, on may 16th, 2005. They are 17-21, 8.5 games back, today.
  13. Pods is now 9 of his last 10 in SB, with him reaching 2nd on an error in the CS.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but have we ever faced Kazmir? No. Mack and Dye have faced him before, Mack 1/3, Dye 0/2. That's it out of our lineup. Interestingly, all of the outs there were strikeouts.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 16, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) WTF it starts 15 after? f*** you Tampa Bay Ah, so that's it.
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) We don't collect taxes to pay for anything, we collect, or don't collect taxes to stimulate the economy. Let's cut taxes 25%, borrow a couple hundred billion from China, and get after this problem. Dude, you know we're only allowed to do that if it gets us oil in return
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 16, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) So whats your solution. Just look the other way. Pretend our borders are safe. Hope something doesnt happen. No, not at all. Just don't look the other way and pretend that the problem can be fixed for free. The fact that we've spent 20 years sitting around ignoring the problem is the reason why it'll cost so much to fix it now.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Savings Maybe if we say save the burden that illegal immigrants put on our infrastructure maybe we dont have to raise taxes. You know as well as I do that there are 2 obvious comebacks to that...1. that the businesses that employ those immigrants are in fact doing quite well and are then paying taxes because of it, thus stimulating business and all of that, (the article you cite points out that California's agriculture industry is a $28 billion industry, and 2/3 of its workers are illegal) And 2., no matter what, that tax burden doesn't just vanish. If you deport them all, you wind up having a bill in the hundreds of billions for the deportation. If you jail them all, you wind up paying for the jail. In fact, the only zero-cost solution in terms of the federal government's expenditures would be another blanket amnesty.
  19. QUOTE(Cknolls @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) Senate votes no 55-40 to secure border first before then allowing amnesty. These Repubs. will start to listen when there asses are back home whining about the Dems. There is no quid pro quo here people. Brownback, Chafee, Craig, DeWine, Graham, Hagel, Lugar, Martinez, Murkowski, Shelby, Snowe, Specter, Stevens, and Warner should be proud of themselves. Vote was 100% correct, and they should be very proud of themselves. There's no reason for there to be a "First" in any of this. That's why you create "Comprehensive" or "Bipartisan" bills.
  20. You know what I just adore about Americans? We've got people calling for everything from the army on the border to an extra 100,000 border patrol agents to unmanned drones patrolling every sector of the border to a 1200 mile multi layered fence with motion sensors along the whole thing, and the moment you raise the spectre of Americans actually having to spend money on all those new devices... "I think we spend enough in taxes to secure the border" "Oh the government should get its house in order first" "The finger thing means the taxes".
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 16, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) I'm still working this year to pay my 2006 taxes. The last I heard the break even date was June 15th. I think we pay enough to expect secure borders. In Iraq. (rimshot)
