  1. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ May 11, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) Jenks I love but I worry that everybody's figured him out and we've got our '06 version of Takatsu. You do not simply "Figure out" a 97 mph plus fastball if it's thrown for strikes. You just can't. Jenks has a changeup and a slider. He had them back when he was starting. Now, he doesn't need it. He's a reliever, he's not pitching to an entire lineup. Thornton pitched after Jenks, btw. Here's the real worry with Jenks's fastball...if he's not hitting 97+, then people aren't out ahead enough on his curveball. That pitch dominates because of his fastball. Bobby gets that fastball back up a little bit more and this conversation ends.
  2. It'd still be nice to see Bobby touch 100 mph again.
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 10, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) It's not a problem really. You just have to play and let things take care of themselves. Rookie pitchers don't get close calls against proven MLB hitters. And umps get crossed up by knuckleballers just as much as catchers. Who the hell cares. If we lose this, we lose it because our offense has 0 hits.
  4. Man, BA does have a good throwing arm. Yipes. Nice throw.
  5. Come on Charlie, no friggin walks this inning
  6. Come on Charlie, let's get through these first few guys with no walks this time.
  7. Paul had a bit of a lean-back there! Woo-hoo!
  8. QUOTE(beautox @ May 10, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) cancel the post-game show Still a no hitter.
  9. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 10, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) Yeesh, it's his first time pitching in the bigs with a knuckler and a bunch of family in attendance. Give him this game and then see what he has in the next. And 4 runs thus far is really not terrible. He gets through a couple more innings unscathed and this turns into a decent game. He gives up another run or two, and he's about where every rookie pitcher winds up.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 10, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) Yep, he gave up the cycle in the first inning. Of course, he was facing the Indians. Our offense scored more runs in April of 06 than ANY team in the AL did in April 05.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 10, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) I'm just more irritated that our minor leaguers continue to suck whenever they get called up to the majors. Ervin Santana gave up 6 runs on 8 hits in his ML debut.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 10, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) Another White Sox pitching prospect wets itself. I'm really tired of watching this. This is the part where he's demoted, and never regains the numbers he had before being called up. Were you seriously expecting a shutout from the kid tonight? I was hoping for 6 innings and 4 runs as about the best we should expect.
  13. Strikeout #1 of many for Charlie. Great inning kid.
  14. 3 walks, 0 hits, 0 runs. Not the best line ever, but the only one that counts is still round
  15. Come on Charlie, step it up, here's your man.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Because that's REALLY important stuff to know. :rolly So...let me run this down for you. The Administration was required by a judge to release records of when Abramoff visited the White House. The White House answer? 2 times. The only problem? They don't include any details about the 3 visits we already knew about. So in other words, it's important enough for the White House to completely stonewall on a judge's order.
  17. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) But he's a Kennedy and that automatically counts for something. Which is why this has a thread and the Republican Congressman who got a DUI last year did not, as far as I know, have a thread of his own.
  18. Every number you pick comes out that way. Changing the number of times you want chocolate per week adds or subtracts 100 from the final number, and the 1756/1755 gets you the correct final 2 digits.
  19. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 10, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) Make it 9 tonight Giants, haha. As long as tetrahydrogestrinone is kept in the park.
