  1. Man, we got an extra out, and that inning took what, 6-7 pitches?
  2. I think Garland also had his best fastball of the season against the Angels. he was back up to 94-95 when I saw him a few times that game. He's just hung over from the playoffs.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) Smells like a DL trip to me... Damn. Smells to me like he'll be sitting for the next series, but I don't get the "DL stint feeling". Although in my preseason picks, I did say Dye would hit the DL at least one time this season.
  4. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:58 AM) come on...we can do better than that Ok, I'll build a time machine, go back 3 years, and get Bonds while he was still on the juice. That way we'll get a great bench hitter, and he'll even be an outfielder. Wait, crap, he's a lefty. Damnit.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) At some point, you have to be more worried about trying to get a hit than working the count. Mackowiak against C.C. is a bad match-up. I have no problem with Mackowiak trying to get a hit without taking a strike. He's a streaky hitter, and is coming off his best game of the year. Against this team, with their bullpen, and with rain potentially on the way? I think you'd be better off thinking about the strategy.
  6. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) How about a backup righty that has some pop. Heck, why don't we just go get Pujols. That'd be easy right? We could have the best bench in the major leagues!
  7. Mark, if you walk Hafner here, I won't be that mad. Just don't give him anything to hit.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) Now this is dumb. If Dye wasnt 100% you could at least of had Crede hit 5th to back up Kong. We could of had Dye DH also. WTF If Dye says he's ok 2 days in a row, should Ozzie not believe him?
  9. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) If there is a pitch count and Uribe, Anderson and Ozuna swing before they at least have one strike they should be benced following the at-bat. The Indian bullpen is overworked. And not very good at that.
  10. Come on Mack, let's get something here. Base hit by PK to left.
  11. Mack is pinch hitting for Dye in inning 3 today.
  12. Paulie fighting off a lot of foul balls. Machowiak is on deck. Dye looks to be coming out.
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) concievably...especially with him mroe than likely on a pitch count He's supposedly going to throw about 90-95, and he's more than 1/2 way there.
  14. Have we hit baseballs 100 feet this inning?
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) This is one of those Buerhle games like the A's game last year in late April, or was it May? May.
  16. Thank God Peralta is playing awful right now.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) He and Pujols appear to be unstoppable and it's scary just how good they are, luckily Hafner is already 29 where as Pujols is only 26. Until last night the Cleveland announcers said Hafner was on something like a 50 at bat streak without a home run. Thankfully, our pitchers have fixed that.
  18. And we're 0/2 with RISP thus far. Man did Widger look foolish there.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:24 AM) Possibly...but if C.C. is throwing strikes, this lineup will have a difficult time scoring 3 runs against him. It's too bad they didn't start Byrd today. Hopefully we'll still figure out a way to adapt to this guy. The leadoff walk is a good start. C.C. hasn't exactly faced a ton of major league pitching recently, so it's not like he's guaranteed to be untouchable.
