  1. Mark, if you walk Hafner here, I won't be that mad. Just don't give him anything to hit.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) Now this is dumb. If Dye wasnt 100% you could at least of had Crede hit 5th to back up Kong. We could of had Dye DH also. WTF If Dye says he's ok 2 days in a row, should Ozzie not believe him?
  3. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) If there is a pitch count and Uribe, Anderson and Ozuna swing before they at least have one strike they should be benced following the at-bat. The Indian bullpen is overworked. And not very good at that.
  4. Come on Mack, let's get something here. Base hit by PK to left.
  5. Mack is pinch hitting for Dye in inning 3 today.
  6. Paulie fighting off a lot of foul balls. Machowiak is on deck. Dye looks to be coming out.
  7. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) concievably...especially with him mroe than likely on a pitch count He's supposedly going to throw about 90-95, and he's more than 1/2 way there.
  8. Have we hit baseballs 100 feet this inning?
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) This is one of those Buerhle games like the A's game last year in late April, or was it May? May.
  10. Thank God Peralta is playing awful right now.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) He and Pujols appear to be unstoppable and it's scary just how good they are, luckily Hafner is already 29 where as Pujols is only 26. Until last night the Cleveland announcers said Hafner was on something like a 50 at bat streak without a home run. Thankfully, our pitchers have fixed that.
  12. And we're 0/2 with RISP thus far. Man did Widger look foolish there.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:24 AM) Possibly...but if C.C. is throwing strikes, this lineup will have a difficult time scoring 3 runs against him. It's too bad they didn't start Byrd today. Hopefully we'll still figure out a way to adapt to this guy. The leadoff walk is a good start. C.C. hasn't exactly faced a ton of major league pitching recently, so it's not like he's guaranteed to be untouchable.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) In 2006 Widger CERA 7.94 vs AJ CERA 3.18 Last year was the other way around. Widger was actually better...mainly because Widger drew Buehrle a lot.
  15. Well, at least we have Anderson catching the ball in CF. Come on guys, let's get to this fat bastard before he hurts his arm again.
  16. 5 baserunners this inning, all consecutive. Ugh.
  17. QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ May 1, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) Where does ESPN come up with these tools to talk baseball? Boston and New York. Obviously.
  18. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 1, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) From what I'm reading, Garko is even worse than Martinez out of the C slot. If their long term plan is to platoon Broussard and Garko at 1B while keeping a major defensive liability behind the plate (not to mention wear and tear cutting his career short), then that is a very good thing for the Sox. There are like a million Garkos out there. The AAA numbers look great, but he's 25 already, and he only has 1 major league at bat. Put Broussard in AAA, and he is a f***ing stud. On the ML level, he's nothing more than average. Well, here's an idea then. They have a hell of an offense. There are quite a few teams who could use a catcher who can hit. Or a 1st baseman who can hit. There's a solution here...if they're smart enough to try it. Garko = a nice shiny new pitcher?
  19. 4 steals by Pods today, 1 CS, and that CS he got to 2nd anyway on a throwing error. 2 other steals by our lineup. I told you guys we could run on Martinez. Hopefully this starts getting Scotty into a rhythm, get him some confidence.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) I have a feeling Frank is going to get booed big time. And it will suck. Terribly. If I were there, I'd stand and cheer loud enough to drown out any boos around me.
