  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Why don't we just put a bullet in this guy's head and be done with it. Every day he rants during his trial is another day he mocks America. I think the best argument against putting a bullet in this guy's head is that he seems to want to have it happen to him so badly. I think there's at least decent evidence out there that he wasn't actually supposed to be the "20th hijacker", because the people involved didn't trust him and though he wasn't up to the job. He was certainly in on the plot though. So he wasn't good enough to actually be included in the plot, but the U.S. is going to do him the favor of martyring him anyway. That's the only reason I'd hesitate in this case...life in prison seems to be what he wants the least.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Oh so making sure our borders are secure is a "waste of money" huh? I guess screening all those containers coming into our ports is a "waste of money" too huh? There's so many and they're all carrying toys. dvd players and televisions, nothing could ever happen there! Sometimes you really amaze me. :rolly Which is why the Republicans blocked the Democratic efforts to actually screen those containers. I apologize for the interruption, you may now return to the immigration-related sniping.
  3. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Thome now has a four game home run streak. And now...he gets to go back to the Cell.
  4. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) Gave up 9 runs 21 hits and still win that is a rarity Just one of those days...everyone was hitting on both sides, at least we are able to win these sorts of games this year. Last year we just wouldn't have been able to.
  5. Slam! Slam! Good Friday! Slam! Babe! Babe slam good friday! Slam Good Friday Babe!
  6. So...as far as I can tell...every time someone has made one of these threads complaining about a pitcher, saying they're finished, what's wrong, etc....the pitcher has responded with a solid game the next time out. Hopefully Garland responds similarly. And whoever is talking about not striking out enough people for a sinkerballer is just plain stupid, btw.
  7. A win is a win no matter how it happens. Yeesh. 38 damn hits in that game. Good work to everyone in our lineup except for our #9 and #1 hitters. No compliments to our pitching today.
  8. "Walker to the stretch, a look at third" - Farmer "Wait a second, there's no runner on third, why do I care that he's looking"? -Me
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Ed believes Jon is the pitcher of record...? Good grief.. :headshake Unless they tied the game up, he is, I believe.
  10. Dye hits it down the left field line, Thome scores, Dye out at 2nd, inning over, 2 runs, 9-1 Sox.
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) I absolutely hate it when Thome hits a shot that hits the top of the wall or barely, barely misses. Podsednik scores on a Thome double. That ball leaves almost every park in the big leagues.
  12. Mr. Shelton...walk over to 2nd, and say hello to this week's player of the week in the AL.
  13. Thome doubles off the wall, Scott comes around to score
  14. Iguchi strikes out on 3 pitches, never took the bat off his shoulder
  15. Scott, I don't care if you get thrown out by IRoid...RUN
  16. Verlander's final ERA went from 0 at the start of this game to 6.52 at the end of it.
  17. By the way...last year, we didn't see our first 5 run inning until June, with Thomas back, facing the wonderful pitching staff of Arizona. This year...We've already had 2 that I can count.
  18. Come on BA...join the party. Get Cintron in...he's my PTC, and I could use the run scored.
  19. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) Who was worried about the Sox facing rookie pitchers?? And we didn't even need BA this time.
  20. Verlander started this game with an ERA of 0. He's leaving it with an ERA of 5.59, and the runner at 2nd is his.
  21. Crede singles to left, AJ scores, Crede to 2nd on the throw. Cintron up, still RISP. You know, this inning is going to really help our BA with RISP.
