  1. So, unless there's some new steroid out there that isn't being tested for, or every pitcher in the league was on some sort of amphetamine, maybe Hawk was onto something when he said the ball was juiced. Either that, or we're not the only ones who saw a few good pitchers struggle to start the year.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) The worms on the infield dirt at Fenway are about to become endangered species. As soon as they hit the endangered list...all Boston will have to do is tell Harris to start bunting. That'll give them plenty of time to recover, since the ball will never hit the ground.
  3. Not until it's September, the Rally Crede makes his triumphant return, destroys a ball, and Farmer once again proclaims "Step off the ledge folks!".
  4. Rowand currently is 3/4 against the Braves, and has raised his average to .318
  5. David Wells gave up 7 runs in a minor league rehab start. Ryan Klesko is going under the knife today, and will miss 2-4 months. Sean Estes, also of the padres, hit the 15 day DL. A Japanese Outfielder has passed Cal Ripken's consecutive games played record. The Orioles are already overhauling their bullpen, Bringing in John Halama and Cory Morris and dropping cathcher Raul Chavez and lefty Eric Dubose. Chipper Jones diagnosis: sprained ankle, twisted knee. Washington Reliever Felix Rodriguez got a 3 game suspension and manager Frank Robinson got 1 game for a mess with the Mets.
  6. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) Yeah center is death. I think Juan Gonzales would have a few things to say about the dimensions in that park. "Damn why did I turn down that contract?"
  7. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) It's only 370 into the gaps which is smaller than the Cell. If you believe the #'s on the walls of the Cell.
  8. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) They brought in left-center significantly, but it's still 345 down the line. Why I-Rod and Maggs wanted to play there is beyond me. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
  9. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) How many bad at bats until he tries a bunt? He's pulling off, I think. A bunt attempt might get his head on the ball. But I'm sitting here where it's a lot easier. I believe he popped up a bunt on the first pitch of yesterday's game. He also faked a couple others yesterday.
  10. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) The sox ARE the best team in the AL (especially in the central) thats no argument from anyone (except the people who don't believe so) but that's only on paper. They have to back it up on the field as well. That's what the Twins showed us a couple years back. LOL...I love that. "You won't get any argument from anyone on that, except for the people who disagree."
  11. Well, the worry for the Cardinals right now shouldn't be Buehrle, IMO, it should more so be the fact that like 4 out of their current 5 starting pitchers are Free Agents after this season, if ESPN last night is to be believed. All but Carpenter They're going to have to come up with some money this year, not next, in order to keep that staff together. Or they could give us Albert.
  12. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) Now the Tribe don't look so dumb trading him away So you're saying the Tribe somehow knew he was going to break his finger? That's a laugher right there. This is a freak injury, not something predictable. Andy Marte will be the one who will probablymake the tribe look pretty good in that trade.
  13. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) props to Jenks. that's the best he's looked since October. Nice win. That is exactly why Jenks was the right guy pitching...keep getting him in there, we're going to need him to get on a roll. And not a crescent roll or anything like that.
  14. Good work by everyone in the game wearing black...except for people named Scott.
  15. Good work by Jenks today, good work by BMac, good work by Garcia with the Quality start, good work with the bats, someone shoot Podsednik, good game everyone else.
  16. QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) I thought this guy was supposed to be a platoon/off-the-bench type person. The dudes playing almost every single day. I'm sick of the right vs lefty crap. Mack is gonna get 300-400 at bats this year, of that you can be sure. And at some point, he'll get "Uribe" hot, and make those AB's worth while for a few weeks.
  17. And the 3-6-3. McCarthy = good. Welcome the new McCarthyism!
  18. Konerko makes things easier on us Welcome to 2006 PK. 39 more of those. Welcome to the big leagues Joel.
  19. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) McCarthy needs to stay in. If Ozzie get's cute here with a Politte/Cotts...or...even worse a Politte/Logan tandum, I'm going to lose it. Granderson is the only guy in their lineup who is a pure lefty, everyone else is either righty or switch. BMac should go to Jenks.
  20. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) What a tough play made there by Iguchi. MCCARTHY STAYS ON FOR THE EIGHTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's with me? Against IRoid, Ordonez, and Young, absolutely.
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) I want to see Logan tomorrow. You might have a problem with that, unless you know where their hotel is. Nice work AJ.
