  1. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Right, because you are so much smarter than college coaches, administrators and fans of IU's program. After having gone to IU and dealt with their administration...well...that might not be a huge accomplishment.
  2. Did they redesign the hats for this year? I don't remember the white/silver bills from any game I watched last year. Are those ST only?
  3. I think at the $400-$500 range, you're really closing in on pricing a lot of people out of the market. I was actually considering getting a new system to replace the old Super Nintendo (yes you read that right) now that the Fiancee's employed, and since hopefully in the next year or so I'll be getting a new TV, but hell, if the PS3 costs more than a brand new PC, there aint' a chance in hell I'd buy one of those.
  4. Anybody know if/when/where NBC might be carrying that event?
  5. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) the real killer.... "That would have made a lot more sense".
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) Having dealt with Evan Bayh for waaaaaaaaay too many years, I think he is someone who could emerge for the Dems, but I don't think that they will have someone from Indiana at the top of their ticket. Bayh could be an interesting pick for Veep, and has the potential to swing a very Repub state to the Dems. Well, if you can chime into this thread, so can I. I wouldn't put it past Bayh to win the nomination honestly, in sort of the way that Kerry did. If it seriously comes down to a primary based on "Electability", which was the buzzword that a large majority of the people voting for Kerry in early primaries cited in exit polls...it may well come down to Bayh versus Warner (former Virginia governor). Edwards might have a shot in this vein also, but I think being out of office since 04 and having only served 1 term in the Senate may hurt him. On the other hand, I don't think even Bayh could swing Indiana to the Dems. Usually you can tell whether the Republicans are going to win the Presidency by whether or not Indiana goes to the Repub candidate by 20% or 10%. Even though he's from Indiana, he'd have a harder task of winning his home state than Gore did in 2000.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) Who is Chaney? Former basketball player and coach Don Chaney at your service.
  8. Just out of curiosity, does anyone else see the title "Scott Eyre rips sox" and think that maybe he should buy higher quality foot coverings with all the money the Cubs gave him?
  9. Knuckleball. 93 mile per hour knuckleball. The scariest pitch in human history.
  10. 11 people killed along with a high number of injuries during a protest at an Italian embassy in Lybia.
  11. Is that Reinsdorf in that first picture on the right hand side? Is he looking at a rock?
  12. Grabbed this from the current ESPN.com chat window...
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2334371 Still don't want him, but it'd be kind of funny if all this press on him causes Iowa to choke away the Big Ten. You know, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing...might discourage people from hiring him.
  14. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) only if we can find someone with tumorsyphillisitisosis... And yet it seems no one responded to my earlier reference to that episode.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) You keep bringing that up. That is bulls*** on the 911 commission's part. It's been well collaborated, and they avoided it. It may not have been 'in custody' but they had him and we could have had him. Avoided it? They said the exact opposite.
  16. I think Mr. Gumbel needs a taste of beach justice!
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) sounds like they were doing plyometrics. I did that alot when i was on the basketball team. How he fell and broke his hand? I have no idea. I'll bet it was over a hard floor, he lost his balance, came down hard, either directly on his hand or he used it to break the fall.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) Who is going to be the next no name ex-sox reliever to mouth off? Shingo
  19. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) Yep, you guessed it. Frank Stallone?
  20. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) SHHHHHHH. they may be listening to soxtalk. Dude, with me here, they've probably monitored every post here in the last 10 months.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) how awesome are those opposite field blasts? He just seems like he sprays that ball everywhere. That'll be pretty darn useful at the Cell since the winds shift around every now and then. Last time he played there was before the renovations right?
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Yeah, I checked those out as well. http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/NASAp...d=phi&ym=200404 On May 30, 04, Thome swings, at which point the announcer just says, and I quote: :uhoh
