  1. Yes, there is doubt. AJ, Paulie, Pods, and Buehrle could all figure out ways to get past him. Right now he's at the head of the pack. But you add in an HR from AJ or Paulie, or a couple of big hits from Pods, or another save for Catfish, and we'd have to change that.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) jesus how many times am I going to have to see this picture But see...this one is from a different angle!
  3. Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip? 4. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) uribe, just like every other player on the entire roster, has come through in the clutch. this season is just meant to be. i wish we could keep every player we have this year for next year. There's really no reason why we couldn't. Except of course Frank coming off the DL and giving us 26 guys. But honestly, we don't want to keep them all...Everett can be allowed to walk away, for example.
  5. After the last 2 trades Kenny Williams has made have turned into game winning home runs in Games 2 and 3 of the world series...I'm with Hawk...whatever Kenny Does, I'm basically ready to agree with it.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) My fingers hurt.. LOL. I had 11 conversations going. Jason kept me off the ledge.. I would have been here longer but I drained the battery on my laptop.
  7. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) Who is this Dusty Baker you speak of? A future manager of the Dodgers I think.
  8. Of course I stayed up. Of course, when you're 2 hours behind the game time, it gets somewhat easier. Still...I did take a moment to lie down on my ass and just breathe when Uribe caught that ball. What a marathon. In inning 5 I didn't feel like celebrating, because I just had a feeling it wasn't over.
  9. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) Just to clarify: the four are Blum, Timo, Willie and Widger? Or is it not Widger but Ozuna? Please enlighten me Ozuna played in those playoffs before last night.
  10. OHHHHHHH, so that's what the 4 fingers they were holding up meant. I figured they were calling for a Widger slam or something like that.
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) I say Crede, IF they win.....I still have to say that, until win #4 is in the books, but there are so many heroes they should award it to the entire team as a unit. Oh wait, there's a DIFFERENT trophy for the entire team. Depending on game 4, right now I think it's Crede's. 2 home runs, consistent hitting, incredible defense. Of course, give another save to #56 and I might change my mind.
  12. You know, I think Gallo is actually the end of the Astros bullpen...they have Wandy Rodriguez who pitched in game one and Clemens who could maybe go, but I think they're on their last pitcher.
  13. Only Marte and Jenks left in the bullpen after this...that's very worrisome.
  14. It goes on and on and on and on...giggitty giggitty giggitty goo
  15. Horace....Hit it!!!! "Oh God, I love this song, and I love it when amateurs sing the lyrics. But I hate baseball cards!"
  16. We're getting close to 3 hours to game time...and y'all know what that means...it's music time!
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) IF Houston wins two of three, and we go back to Chicago - I certainly don't want to face Pettitte and (potentially) Oswalt back to back to try to clinch. That's tough. If Houston doesn't win all 3 in Houston, they'll have to defeat Buehrle and Garland back to back in Chicago. That's even tougher. (Thunder...)
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) MLB allowed this stadium to be built, and they should allow the stadium to be set up anyway the Astros desire. If MLB gets to determine if games get cancelled during the fall, they have every right to determine whether or not a roof should be open.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) When did he sign an extension? Seemingly October 1.
  20. Someone seriously needs to spend the money to put an Everett Jersey on tha thing. The irony alone would be worth the investment.
  21. As I said before...the Rally Crede borrowed the guy's credit card.
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Who knows where we would be right now with a 120 win season. The Indians would have never mattered. The Sox would have slept walk into the postseason without any kind of challenge or wake-up calls. Sure, you can call me an optimist for trying to put a positive spin on the "collapse," but I think it was good for this club. I could care less whether we won 89, 120, 99, 161, or 3 games all year, as long as we win the next 2. If we win...then I don't know if the collapse was a good thing or a bad thing, all i know is that it worked.
  23. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) I agree that this is a very overlooked factor when comparing pitchers between leagues. It seems as though just by transfering leagues an ERA will jump by around half a point. Jon Garland will be helped by facing the Astros in Houston just because he gets to face the pitcher. I'm looking at this being a low scoring game where hopefully the Sox can stratch a couple across in the early innings and fight out a victory. Actually one of the SI Guys crunched those numbers earlier this year. Turns out that on average (with a fairly large variance from pitcher to pitcher), moving from the AL to the NL basically lops .9 runs off your ERA. Again, there's a large variance, so some guys will gain 2 runs going to the AL whiel others will nly gain 1/2 of a run, but on average, it comes down to about .94 both ways. (Thunder...)
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) We go up 3-0, Backe is scheduled in game 4, you might see us sweep. Book it. How can you book something that might happen? (Thunder...)
  25. Man, how do you guys find these threads without the search feature?
