  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:16 AM) The interesting thing that I heard was that they still want Frank to have his ankle elevated to prevent swelling, and that is why he wasn't traveling with the team. I've heard exactly the same thing. So let's see, on 1 hand, we have people here being happy and proud that Frank showed up, and on the other hand we have the sun times complaining that Frank didn't show up enough. I still want him back.
  2. 5. Mark Buehrle's 1:39 game against Seattle 4. Joe Crede hits a 3 run bomb in the 8th inning to give us a lead - don't remember who we were playing. 3. I didn't even see the game, but AJ over the Dodgers 2. Tadahito Iguchi beats Seattle in extra innings with a dinger (the B.A.>Felix Hernandez game) 1. Joe Crede. Cleveland.
  3. It's a cute home run call...but it strikes me as quite wierd that it sounds exactly the same whether ARod hits the home run or Konerko hits is.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) Start 6 or 7 of the starters, and start pulling them by the 7th. Pitching will be interesting. Whose arms do we burn out? I think El Duque should start 1 of those games. Maybe Sunday...maybe even Saturday - give JG the extra rest and pitch BMac on Sunday anyway?
  5. QUOTE(White Sox @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) hot girls don't talk to me Try offering them the audio files
  6. Ok, so my 1 worry here is that this puts Freddy on pace to pitch game 2...also at home, unless Ozzie flips Mark and Freddy...which in his position I would in a heartbeat. Mark's been better at home all year, and Freddy's been better on the road since we acquired him. Anywho...this also puts Jose on pace to pitch any necessary game 5, which I consider to be excellent news.
  7. QUOTE(White Sox @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) i also made a top 10 plays of the season in audio format. if you guys want me to post it ill put it up tonight. Hell yes.
  8. QUOTE(White Sox @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) Here is hawk's call of the final out in audio format. http://www.westernavenue.net/asdf.wav i'm not sure if it was posted yet. Dude, you rule.
  9. QUOTE(White Sox @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) A few avatars would also be nice. I need to spread my white sox love on the other forums i post on. The only reason why i registered on here as "white sox" is because that is my name on all non-white sox forums. C'Mon man...use the Rally Crede @ every board you post at...it'll confuse the Hell out of people and keep our Mojo going.
  10. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Wait, where are the choke avatars now?
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) I could understand why Ozzie would do that. There's no harm in resting each guy maybe once, while still putting out a respectable lineup. I hope AJP, Rowand, Pods, and Dye get a day off this wknd. Honestly, half of me hopes Pods doesn't play at all this weekend just so his legs can rest, and the other half of me wants him to either only start in 1 game or to come in to pinch run a couple times just so he can work on his timing. AJ could probably use 2 days off as well. I'd like to see Carl get 1 day off just for rest...you have to know he's been pressing. Ditto Rowand. Crede probably shouldn't play tomorrow just because I doubt he's slept this week. I'd like Konerko to either sit for 1-2 days or spend some time at DH as well.
  12. Ryan Howard also I believe spent an extra year at AAA before coming up this year, because Thome had a lock on 1b with the Phillies until he got hurt.
  13. QUOTE(scotty22hotty @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Remember to use coupon "MLBSORRY20" for 20% off edit: but you lose free shipping if its over $99 Now you tell me.
  14. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I would like to face BOS in the ALDS. We can make that happen by beating CLE. Not if the Yankees beat up on Boston. *edit since we have a Red Sox fan here: And I hope that the reverse happens.
  15. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Since 2000 the White Sox have consistently tanked in Aug & risen in Sept. Much of this was due to the loss of a major at bat in the lineup. By Sept the lineup figured out to score minus the big bat. 2005 was no different. 2005 CWS Aug: 12W-16L, Sep: 16W-12L. You can accept the national media to overlook this but for a local guy? He's just a Cub PR tool .. most of the time. Just to point out...for no obvious or particular reason...unless you care to think of some reason... 16W, 12 L = winning percentage of .5714 11 W, 8 L = winning percentage of .5789
  16. If you stick anything in from that last 2 Twins series or the last Indians series...you absolutely must use the song "Holding out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) I'd like to see Borch start and get some action. He's been doing nicely. I know man, he's hitting like .800 this year! (not going to mention his total number of at bats)
  18. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) To be honest, this has nothing to do with the Red Sox as it does with my hatred for Gary Sheffield. Perhaps ESPN and MLB are "parading around the Red Sox like they are show ponies" because they are the defending World Series Champions? Just a thought. Just as long as whatever other team, who's name I'm not going to mention out of sheer superstitious terror, gets the same treatment next year.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) On ESPN they just said that the White Sox were just the 10th team in the history of baseball(can that be right?) to be in first place every day of the season. Sounds right to me...I know that it's true about us, and it seems like a very rare occurrence...I mean, you knock out 1/2 of the possible teams each year on day 1.
  20. I'm not sure if I've been in the chat enough this year to count as an official chat crew member, but what the Hell... Chat Crew....Y-ES
  21. I think Crede will get another day to rest...I doubt he's slept the last 2 nights.
  22. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Congratulations, White Sox fans. Now you just do the right thing and get back ahead of those damn Yankees.
  23. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) I wish there was a site you could visit and find out how right or wrong the ESPN panelists have been in their long and storied history of picking games. Here's their 2005 preseason picks. I still can't figure out why 1 month into the season he started saying we wouldn't win the AL Central...but Rob Neyer...Right f***ing On. Edit...you know, I wish I could find the BBTN clip from before the season where they were giving their picks. The first guy, I think it was Gammons, picked the Twins, for all the supposedly obvious reasons...then Kruk came up, and started pretending he'd picked the Tigers and giving all the reasons for htem - Bonderman, Ordonez...with the screen below him saying he'd picked the Twins, then he interrupted himself and basically said "Of course I'm picking the Twins" and offered up no more details. Hi John!
  24. Danman...I think you ran into that same smiley limit I ran into on page 2 of this thread doing exactly the same thing.
  25. Buehrle versus Millwood, unless Ozzie does something surprising. Go get em Mark...hope that the champagne doesn't slow ya down. Gload, Borchard, Anderson, Harris, Timo, Blum, Widge, Ozuna...have a good day at the plate tomorrow.
