  1. Garland Gets Belliard to fly out on pitch 9 of the at bat.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) I can't believe this isn't on there. Buck Weaver: You get out there, and the stands are full and everybody's cheerin'. It's like everybody in the world come to see you. And inside of that there's the players, they're yakkin' it up. The pitcher throws and you look for that pill... suddenly there's nothing else in the ballpark but you and it. Sometimes, when you feel right, there's a groove there, and the bat just eases into it and meets that ball. When the bat meets that ball and you feel that ball just give, you know it's going to go a long way. Damn, if you don't feel like you're going to live forever. Back when this was actually posted earlier this summer ESPN had a pretty long chat about things that should have been on the list but weren't.
  3. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Turn on MSNBC, there is plane with landing gear problems getting ready to land Where at? Do you know what flight?
  4. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Might as well have not plowed the streets in an election year. Don't give them ideas!!!!
  5. Garland and Elarton both threw 16 pitches in inning 1, and both threw 12 strikes.
  6. Garland strikes out Sizemore to start it all off.
  7. Man, now we can't see how big of a crowd there is in the message board threads. That's kinda sad. If we break the old record for users on at 1 time during a game while that is off, will the system still record it?
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) oakland CYA! TOAST! PUT A FORK IN EM! They're still only 2 games back of the Angels.
  9. Man, y'all just keep giving me reasons not to head home during these games. Let's hope MLB Radio is a little more reliable than it was last night.
  10. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Career vs Garland... Sizemore 4-6 Hafner 6-17 1 HR Martinez 7-17 1 HR I think this is 1 case where you just can't apply the career numbers. Why? Because this is not the Jon Garland of any previous year. He's proven me right in that thinking more than once this year.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Yankees and Red Sox have both jumped to early leads in their games tonight. It would be great if one of them lost tonight. Red Sox are up 3-1 in the 3rd, Yankees are up 2-0. Somehow, I just can't imagine those being the final scores of those 2 games.
  12. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) All the happiness from last night is still there but now 1 hour before gametime a little bit of that nervousness is creeping back in too. Come on Jonny boy, we could still use a strong start the way Garcia and Buehrle pitched. Strangely, I don't feel nervous at all. No matter what happens, we got out of this series with a win. That's incredibly helpful.
  13. Ok...so Freddy just needs to drink a lot of water 1 hour before the game starts from now on, that way he's fine in inning 1.
  14. Is checking the "Today's top posters" list equivalent to searching?
  15. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Also KC is on a six-game winning streak going into Cleveland's series with them... Wait wha? Didn't Cleveland sweep the Royals while we were playing Minnesota? Am I imagining this?
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/columni...21-majors_x.htm How does the state income tax rate compare between the 2 states for the highest wage earners?

    Are they real?

She actually walked past a group of people (including me) at O'Hare when I was in like 11th grade. Had to do a triple take - "was that...um, I dunno...um yeah i think it was"
  18. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) I'm pretty sure 2 Hurricanes of this size hitting in one season is some kind of record. Just remember, as we warm up this planet via greenhouse gases, these size storms will only become more abundant. Realclimate
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) It might not make it...were gonna have some eye wall collapse going down soon...and then it will restrengthen after the eye wall re-forms. Rita is certainly gonna be a beast It still has plenty of time, by the way, to go through a full cycle of this before it slams ashore. This one is a f***ing Monster. When the evacuation order was given for Key West, only 50% of the residents left. Hopefully the people in Texas are looking towards Louisiana and seeing what it did there.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) If I'm going to get hit, make it a Cat 5. "Me, I was scared. But Lieutenant Dan...he was mad!"
  21. So once again I'll ask...if the Patriots can build a beautiful stadium without using public funds for anything but upgrades to the infrastructure around the park, why should the folks in Minnesota have to foot the bill?
