  1. All Right AJ, good way to start the inning. Got im on, get em over, get em in.
  2. All right guys...except for Konerko we did a decent job of making Millwood work last inning...let's keep that up this inning. Be patient...he started this game off doing a lot of nibbling around the strike zone.
  3. 3rd strikeout in 2 innings. Not terrible on that part...just need to keep the ball from getting hit.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Well, this would require our first 2 run deficit comeback in nearly 50 games. I think it's safe to say we're due.
  5. Come on Freddy...step it up now...shut these guys down. We can't afford any more of this.
  6. 2nd strikeout for Freddy. His fastball's clicking 93 and 94.
  7. Pods works a full count after going down 0-2...then grounds out to short. At least he drew some pitches.
  8. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) when Freddy starts we should use Jenks in the first and have freddy pitch the last eight If we scored in the 1st inning...would Freddy get a save?
  9. Well, groundout to Iguchi...Freddo is out of the first with only a small scratch. Hopefully he comes out in the 2nd and bears down. 1 first inning run is pretty good for him.
  10. 1-0 Indians on a Hafner double off the Center Field wall. Belt high fastball over the plate. at least it stayed in the park.
  11. Come on Freddy-o, get past Hafner and we'll be into the 2nd inning...
  12. Leadoff single for Sizemore. Come on Freddy...shut em down this inning.
  13. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) In how many ab's?? I'm sorry but he shouldn't be hitting 5th. Period. 138 AB's in the 5 slot, 282 outside of the 5 spot.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) AJ batting 5th! I hope not. A.J. is batting .297 in the 5 hole this season. He's hitting .241 outside of the 5 hole.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) why is it when I try to open this it only asks me if I want to save the file "listen"? Are you using Firefox? That's exactly what mine does as well...go ahead and either save/open the file, and then once it's downloaded click on "Open".
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Next Jay Mariotti article: If Schilling's "red sock" was good enough for the Red Sox, why can't Hermanson cowboy up and deal with some back pain? That's the thing champions are made of...the staff should have seen this coming...blah blah etc. If anyone actually does say that...there's a real beautiful response to it...the staff did actually see this coming, which is why "You can't Focking See that" has been in the big leagues for a couple months blowing people away. And I'll bet if there was a risky nearly-surgical procedure that Hermy could undergo to make his back not bother him when he throws pitches, if we were in the playoffs, I bet you he'd do it in a heartbeat.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) Marte? I thought we were trying to win games :| You can't argue with the results from Minnesota.
  18. I think that's good news overall...especially that Marte actually seems like he may finally have found out whatever it was he was missing there for a few weeks. Still...how sad is that for Hermanson? For about 3/4 of the season that guy was lights out...started the year with a 22 inning scoreless streak, had people here begging Ozzie to put him into the Closer's role, and now because of his damn lower back he's just not able to do the job any more. Man, I feel horrid for Hermy. He's one of the reasons we even have a prayer this year.
  19. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) anybody catch the radio interview with Ozzie? He says Jenks and Marte will now close. Man, Hermy must really be hurting. That's a damn shame...he was so good for so long.
  20. QUOTE(farmteam @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) What's there to calm down about? You said you wanted Anderson in for Dye, I was simply stating that Dye is signed for another year. I'd like to see Anderson here too, but he'll only be here if Dye moves to first or is traded. I think it's worth pointing out that Dye's value on the trading market could actually be pretty darn high next year. When we signed him, he was coming off a series of fairly bad years in Oakland where he was paid a lot of money but seemed to suffer from a lot of nagging injuries every year. This year, he's proven he can stay healthy. He's on tap to earn about $5 million next year, with an option for the year after it at about the same number. This year, he's very close to hitting 30 home runs, and if he gets a small hot streak, he'll get there (here's hoping he does it in this series). How many teams are there out there who wouldn't complain about paying $5 million for a bat that can hit 30 home runs in one of the corner outfield spots? St Louis will probably need a replacement for Walker, Arizona could use some outfield help, Houston has been desperate for a bat all year, Toronto's probably going to add salary...hell anyone in the NL west could use help, etc. With the backlog of outfielders we're rapidly developing in our minor leagues, I don't think I'd complain at all if Dye and Everett were moved for youth or other key players in the offseason. Putting Anderson (and, maybe Borchard) onto the 25 man would save us a ton of money for next year.
  21. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) Normally I'd be worried about sticking a rookie in a high-stress, playoff atmosphere but with BMAC I don't have that worry. I remember hearing Steve Stone and the other ESPN guys interview BMac during spring training...that kid REALLY has his s*** together. Very well spoken and focused. He gave me the impression that he feeds on pressure. I don't think he'll have any problems on Thu. Did you get a chance to watch the Boston game? Man alive did that kid dominate that lineup. If Boston can't get to him...then he should be able to just dismantle Minnesota. Let's just hope his pitches show up that day.
  22. Ok, I checked...the 59-0 drubbing by Wisconsin happened in 99. In 00 we took a 58-0 hit by Michigan.
  23. If I'm reading this right...I think we can say precisely why it is the Republicans have increased the size of the Federal Government by 33% in the last 4.5 years since Bush took office. At least 1 Congressional Republican thinks $500,000 is greater than $223 million. Anchorage Daily News.
