  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) The great Scott Elarton seems to have no problem shutting down the Royals offense. Thus far, the mighty Jimmy Gobble has matched him. Couple more hits and walks, but still 0's on the board. Randy Johnson was just ejected in the 2nd inning of the Yankees game.
  2. Carl actually did get hits in all 3 games in KC I believe...he also had a couple shots hit right at people...hopefully that'll turn out to be a good sign.
  3. Vernon Wells hit a 3 run home run off of Randy Johnson in the bottom of the 1st...Toronto 3, NY Yankees 1, 1 out.
  4. Jose Hernandez Lines out to Berroa. Gobble works out of it.
  5. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Royals go 1-2-3 against the Tribe in the top of the 1st. See how easy that's done? At what point do we start worrying about the Yankees? (they're up 1-0 on Toronto in the middle of the first)

    LMAO

"I love this job more than I love taffy ... and I'm a man who enjoys his taffy."
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) I have a good feeling about tonight. I guess I'm glad someone does...but please don't Jinx us man!
  8. I don't know why I'm posting this except to say the word Youppi! a few more times, but here goes...Youppi! is officially a mascot of the Montreal Canadiens, after being ditched by the Expos.
  9. "Yeah, that sniper at the all star game was really a blessing in disguise"
  10. Still, no matter what y'all say about Borchard (My God, have things gotten so bad that we're actually demanding playing time for Borchard????????)...I think I'm fairly happy to see that Ozzie has his full starting lineup in there top to bottom, no reserves, no backups, no rest days for people. That should be the motto until this division is wrapped up. Don't worry about rest...worry about getting the best lineup in to win the game. If that means playing a backup because he hits the pitcher well (Timo & Radke?) do it, but please don't try to get people extra rest when we're in dire straits.
  11. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) I don't like to point fingers at one or two players and blame them for our ills, but I have to admit the so called satff aces have really fallen short the last 2 weeks or so. I don't think Crede is our problem and even when he doesn't hit that glove of his is gold. Actually, his glove hasn't been all that golden of late either. Not awful, but certainly not jaw-droppingly golden.
  12. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) If he goes to Chicago, I'm sure you'd look for Patterson, and like 2 other solid as players too to be involved...and then Patterson will turn into f***in Ken Griffey Jr part deux for Minnesota. Please God let the Twins decide they're the ones who can make something out of K-orey.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) Upton's agent was complaining too. Neither of them will be signing with the D-Rays after their reserve clause is up. Can you name any players who you'd expect would be signing with the D-Rays?

    LMAO

"If I do this, will you stop stealing my water?"
  15. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) Building an airport is one thing. It drives the local economy and the airlines have to pay rent to fly out of there. The community gets its money back. With a straight out cash payment the money is flushed down a money-losing hole never to be seen again. In that case...then yes, Nuke and I actually seem to be in full agreement on an issue. So let's see...first the 15 game lead falls to 4.5 Then Nuke and Balta agree on something... Presumably the next step involves 4 guys on horseback?
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) BUT WHERE WOULD HE PLAY????? I thought that was the Griffey line.
  17. Just remember...it wasn't the NFL who discovered that the guys from the Panthers had been juicing.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) Absolutely Right on this one, El Duque shouldn't even be in the lineup i still have no idea why Ozzie thinks he deserves another chance hes lost 7 out of his last 9 starts. oh wait"its cuz McCarthy isn't a Cy-Young Winner" last i heard garland or buehrle have never won a cy young award yet. :headshake So...your solution would be to replace Garland, Buehrle, and El Duque with BMac?
  19. You'll also note I'm back on my old Avatar.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Bruuce Levine is as accurate as..... Doesn't carpet bombing actually hit its target every now and again?
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Desperate times, desperate measures. If I thought he was able to pitch well, I wouldn't complain, but the Sun Times this morning made it sound like the health problem Marte was having has not gone away. I'm worried he'll get into the ballgame and we'll have 3 more HBP before we know what happened.
  22. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Then what are you waiting for, Man. Let that bikini line grow out, baby! Actually...I kinda meant the beard...but hey whatever floats your boat.
  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) And Mark Buehrle, Freddy Garcia and Jon Garland made the rest of the team lose all ability to run bases how exactly...? And don't forget how they make our outfielders kick the ball.
