  1. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Sizemore also has 24 more Runs scored than Pods. Isn't that what you want out of your leadoff hitter? How much is that affected by the batting average with RISP of our #3 and #4 hitters? Also...how many at bats does Sizemore have compared to Pods? Podsie was on the DL for 1 stretch, he's had quite a few other off days, and he was down for like 5 days earlier in the year with a leg problem too.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) Better offensive numbers? Like what? Pods average is a whole 4 points higher and his obp is just a few points higher as well. Other than that...Sizemore has 19 Dingers, 31 2B, 11 3B, 97 Runs Scored, 76 RBI. But hey, I guess Scotty is better cause he steals a few bases A lot of players 3b hits come because of the ballpark they play in...the more nooks & crannies in the outfield, the more 3b hits you get. The Cell doesn't have any of them. Therefore, I consider triples to be a terrible stat to compare between different teams.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) I can't believe DJ just said the following "Scott wears rubbers so he can get a better dig in the dirt!" That's almost good enough to wind up in my sig. DJ: "Whatever you do, just don't strap it on." (10 second pause) Hawk: We got another email here...
  4. Good work Konerko...first hit of the series...shot the ball to right field.
  5. Ok...Konerko needs to figure out how to hit in the 3 hole RIGHT NOW.
  6. Pods needs to take off again...Figgins is getting too darn close.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Hopefully our guys remember to hit it up the middle and the other way with Camp, not go back into corpseball mode. A touch of the other way and a touch of power made a nice inning. A guy with an ERA of 7.41 just replaced a guy with an ERA (after this game) of 7.22.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Lots of pitches in the dirt, but at sometime, our catchers need to make a tough stop. I'm not asking for every single pitch in the dirt, but I see a lot of catchers find a way to keep the ball close enough to prevent the runner from scoring. Agreed...I know they're not all the fault of the catcher, but when you have not 1 but 2 guys on your team tied for the league lead in wild pitches...your catchers need to work on knocking things down better. There's just too much room for improvement. John Lackey is 3rd in the AL with 17 wild pitches.
  9. WP 19 for Freddy...once again tied for the league lead in WP...with Jose.
  10. Sweeneypopsitup. Man I'm glad every time he turns into an out.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) Juanny is 32-44!?!?!? WOW! Just wow. Um, where did you get that number? He's 20 of 41 in september according to my numbers.
  12. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) Uribe is UNCONSCIOUS right now!! How long do you think it'll be before we see the rest of the team adopting the leg-lift trigger?
  13. LOL Rooney sounded a lot more certain that the one hit by Dye was leaving than the one hit by Uribe. Nice 6 run inning guys...it's been way too long since we've had one of those. Camp is ready in the bullpen for the Royals.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) anyone listening to the Radio? Was Farmer gettting on the Sox about Howell before this inning? Yes he was...said that they were swinging at the first pitch too often, and that most of the changeups they were swinging at were outside the strike zone.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) ok Crazy, good job.... am I alone in wanting to see Dye and A-Row switch in the order? Rowand is hitting .234 when he is in the 6th or 7th spots in the batting order this year in 183 at bats.
  16. Going up left handed works for Carl for once...wow...yay...
  17. Ok, Tadahito has seen 2 pitches from Howell tonight, has 2 hits, and 3 RBI. Tadahito Iguchi is allowed to swing at any first pitch this guy throws. I promise not to complain. How important is Cora not sending Crede home now?
  18. And Joe Crede tries to get our offense started... Ugh, why does that sound so bad...
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Westbrook brought his "A" game tonight. I really wish our offense could bring it's "A" game 2 nights in a row.
  20. Thank goodness that inning is over. Seriously, Freddy needs to have someone sit down with him and figure out how to get him warmed up better before games. 1/3 of the home runs he's given up this year have been in the 1st inning. People are hitting .331 against Freddy in the first inning.
  21. And a stolen base and a single turn the 2 out HBP into a run.
  22. 1/4 of Sweeney's home runs this year have come against us.
