  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Wanting PK to move on has nothing to do with tonight. He's going to make a ton of money this offseason and he just isn't worth it. Personally I don't think he's worth very much at all. I would rather take his contract and make certain that Mark Buehrle doesn't pitch anywhere else until he's like 33.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Powerful lefty? Twenty home runs or so over the course of a season isn't what i would consider ''powerfull''. He's only going to hit 20 or so home runs...but he's probably going to hit well over .300...he did so last year and he's killing them in the minors. Paulie generates runs with walks and the big fly...Gload can hit some big flies, but can probably generate just as many runs just by getting a lot more hits...if he's healthy. Gload's also almost gold-glove worthy on defense at 1b.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) attitude? explain. He had some "Attitude" problems in the Anaheim minors...he got in a fight on a bus, bounced around between their minor league teams, he's always been rumored to be very immature...they even did an outside-the-lines about him last year and how he could throw 100 but had attitude problems. He does have some actual emotional problems I believe...had a hard childhood, etc. His attitude was why they left him unprotected last year. Now he's gotten married, has another year older, and he's suddenly in the big leagues and looking all right with this team.
  4. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I like the idea! But I still think it will be gloads for the taking if we lose Konerko. I think Gload's practically earned it...I just worry about his ability to stay healhty, he's been down for a full half a season.
  5. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Would Everett start in RF before Anderson? Everett's a free agent and almost certainly will not be back next year...Frank for sure is a higher priority. Only way Everett comes back is if KW trades for him mid-season again.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) I think he tends to lose the strikezone every once in a while, issues alot of walks and gets lit up when he has to come to the plate with his fastball. Just keep pounding the plate and he will be fine. When is the last time a Sox reliever threw this hard? Hernandez? Radinsky? Thigpen? Lorenzo Barcelo was rumored to throw that hard, but I never saw it. None of them threw this hard. All were upper 90's...but none of them were hitting 99 or higher. You never find guys like this. NEVER.
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) I heard he got enough votes equal to Ramirez, Damon & Guerrero. Why don't we vote for our players this hard from the beginning? Anyway, great job all of us. We were limited to 25 votes per email address in the normal fan voting.
  8. I just feel the need to repeat this...FRANK THOMAS IS NOW TIED WITH WILLIE MAYS ON THE CAREER WALKS LIST. Frank I love you!!!
  9. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) If he never gets touched up, well, that'll be alright too. When you're throwing 99 for strikes...it's pretty damn rare.
  10. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Would anyone of you trade Jenks as part of a package to get a starting pitcher or do you think he should be untouchable... GOD NO. There are exactly 2 people in the big leagues right now who can come in out of the bullpen and throw triple digits. 1 of them is on the DL until next year. The other one is Billy Wagner. We have this kid for a pittance for years until he's a free agent. YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT TRADE A KID LIKE THIS. There are exactly 2 others in the league like him. In other words...NO MATTER WHAT YOU GET FOR HIM...you will give up more. YOU CANNOT REPLACE A TALENT LIKE THAT.
  11. "Ozzie what'd you think about seeing Jenks" "Good Fastball"..."Did a tremendous job"..."I know he's not afraid, that's 1 thing I like, I like the attitude and the body language on the mound"
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) You make a good point that I was going to make. Jenks has a great curve, but his fastball is good enough so that he doesn't need to throw it early in the count in order to get ahead of the hitter. Rather, Jenks can save that pitch until he has 2 strikes, and he'll get a ton of hitters to chase it, even if it's not close to the plate. The difference between Jenks and McCarthy right now is that Jenks is able to get his fastball past MLB hitters, while McCarthy is not. Thus, McCarthy needs to use his whole repetoire in order to get 2 strikes on the batter. By that time, the hitter has seen the fastball and curve probably. Which is exactly why BMac needs to throw that damn changeup more often...almost every hitter he faces should see it at some point.
  13. 2 more...1464 career walks for Frank Thomas...Now officially tied for 14th all time with some guy named Willie Mays. Last time anyone hit 11 home runs in less than 70 at bats...Barry Bonds and Carlos Delgado both did it in 2001.
  14. Pods gets a $25,000 bonus this year...but here's the one I just learned...by making the AS Game this year...He gets another $75,000 bonus next year! Scottie...GO BUY A CAR.
  15. His curve would be dominant entirely because he wouldn't throw it very often. When you can throw 99+...you throw that curveball as an out pitch, and Ted Williams will strike out. He was ahead of each of the last 3 hitters he faced. I'll give him the leadoff guy as just nerves. And that ump was pinching us all day.
  16. If Eric Gagne can do it...
  17. QUOTE(osxfreak @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Another great win and Love the new kid... AS long as he can get better control over that thing we might have a long time 99 mile man... He was ahead of each of the last 3 hitters he faced...that's one hell of a good sign. And this ump wasn't very friendly today either. His first hitter...I'll give him that as just nerves.
  18. 4 million votes for Podsednik 4 all-stars for the Chicago White Sox 2 hits, 2 runs for Podsednik. 850 feet in 2 games for Frank Thomas...creating 6 runs. #447 for Frank Thomas. 2 behind Bagwell. 11 home runs in 72 at bats for Frank Thomas. Fish Diets are better than anything Bonds has used. 4 wins on the season for Contreras. 2 strikeouts for Bobby Jenks. 99 miles per hour for Bobby Jenks. And one hell of a curve ball to finish it. 1 shoutout to us by the Hawk. 31 games over .500. 10.5 games ahead of Minnesota 11.5 games ahead of Cleveland Oakland...COME AND GET IT. WE'VE GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU THIS TIME.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) I'd be hard pressed to give up a guy like Jenks. However, if he pitches like this before going back down to the minors a few more times, you know a heck of a lot of teams will be asking for him. God...I swear to God...you do not part with a guy who can do this. Not at his age. When you have a guy who can do that you have to get your money's worth from him before he becomes a free agent. There are basically 2 guys in the league who can come in and destroy a team throwing 99 out of the pen...Wagner and Gagne. This kind of talent cannot be replaced. We will not see a guy come up like this from our organization for years.
  20. Breaking ball - HE GAWN! AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
  21. 0-2...been ahead of the last 3 hitters...betcha here comes the slider.
  22. GAS...HE Gawn Bobby...Keep that damn ball!!!!
