QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) That was more extreme as he hadn't hit one in the entire regular season before facing the Red Sox in the ALDS. I know, that was one of my favorite moments of that postseason.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 12:31 AM) So The Royals hit homers now. Remember Scott Podsednik 2005?

Ray Rice Cut and Suspended Indefinitely
Big Hurtin replied to ChiSox_Sonix's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 05:59 PM) Being soft on Ray Rice doesn't protect the brand, and you could argue actually cost then more customers and money. Of course it doesn't NOW, but they were naive in thinking that the video would never be seen. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) Except he ultimately started out protecting Rice with this whole thing. It had zero to do about money at that point, and really, still doesn't. It's all about protecting their brand. They don't want to lose any customers ($). Roger is just a puppet for the owners. Oh, and that guy in San Francisco is still playing, why? Because there isn't an incriminating video playing on every local and national news channel. under the rug -
Ray Rice Cut and Suspended Indefinitely

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 05:14 PM) Lying for Ray Rice. Yup, seems worth it to risk your job for that. And to think they were so naive to think the full video would never come out. It wasn't to protect Rice. It's all about keeping the money train rolling. They don't care about women who get hit. They don't care about their own players dying prematurely from liver failure and such from being fed pain pills like candy. They fought tooth and nail to squash any concussion research regarding longterm affects from playing football. -

It's about that time of the year again...
Big Hurtin replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have a question for those who follow this closely. Where is the predicted drop-off? In other words, are the top five ( for example) players close enough that any of them would be a great pick? Is there one player who is the slam-dunk, can't miss number one guy? Obviously, there is always a chance of a bust regardless. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) When ND played Army in Yankee stadium, it was one of the highest rated games of the season, despite Army being arguably the worst opponent. But I agree with Rock that the game should be in the Midwest. Ford Field, Lucas Oil, Soldier Field being the three most likely candidates. Wrigley Field? -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 20, 2014 -> 11:06 AM) I said it in another thread, and I will say it again. Forget about the Sox spending free agent dollars on a starting pitcher. With the path they have Rodon on, he will be a SP for the White Sox next year. They may well bring in another reclamation project or two, but they will not spend 8 or 9 figures on an SP. Sale Quintana Danks Noesi Rodon. That is your very probable rotation for 2015. Not a playoff team We can be happy about Jerry's wallet though, if that's your thing.

More MLB names uncovered in Biogenesis investigations
Big Hurtin replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't even care about the White Sox. I'm full of schadenfreude that an MLB "darling" or two could be on the list. -

Tie Kemp to top prospect, Lester on the move?
Big Hurtin replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) The Sox would be insane to even be involved with this in the first place. It goes against anything Hahn has tried to create. The only reason there is talks of trading him (Lester) is because they know someone will give him more money (years, not necessarily per annum). Obviously, the White Sox won't be that team. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) I don't know if there is any validity to this guys tweet, but if LeBron was announcing he was staying in Miami, I would think hanging out not far from Cleveland would be about the last place he would want to be tonight. Or any night, really.
