  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:58 AM) If you honestly think it's baseless projection for me to say people will be posting threads about him here, and on every other White Sox message board paying their respects when he retires and/or dies, you've...you've gotta be bleepin' me Wegner! Ugh, you're acting like I'm saying that everyone hates him. I'm saying the ones that do aren't going to change their minds if he leaves. ( which he won't unless he dies)
  2. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:52 AM) Just a question...but other than the ownership group...who has been with the White Sox the longest? One could argue Kenny Williams since he was drafted by the White Sox in '82. But he played with other teams in between. Hawk has been with the White Sox since 1982. 31 years. Yes, we will miss him. Sure, people will miss him. I'm calling Bravo Sierra on the "you'll miss me when I'm gone" attitude projected on those that want him gone. The people who will miss him are the ones that like him.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:41 AM) ...also with this once again rehashed Hawk sucks/Hawk needs to go thread (which we see every single year), the moment he's gone, you'll all be praising him as the former face of the White Sox and "miss him". Yay, more baseless projection.
  4. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) The Hawk hate IMO is primarily from those fans who either don't understand the game enough to find truth in what he says and/or don't understand the role of homer in Chicago sports broadcasting. Oh just stop it. It would be impossible for you to be talking more out of your ass.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 08:28 AM) I hope he doesn't I think he
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 07:54 PM) For the amount of time I spend watching tv, I just want the best experience possible. I know DirecTV is usually a bit higher than most other providers, but not significantly, especially when I consider I spend about 30-40 hours a week in front of a tv, especially during baseball season. Yeah, I get a lot more channels in HD that I'm interested in that aren't on Comcast (in my area), including WGN America and MLB Extra innings. I think Comcast has 2 HD feeds max. (shared with NHL/NBA) I looked at it one time and figured with the package I would have, there wouldn't be any significant price change to bother.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) bump for the 2013 season That didn't take long.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) Guessing you missed this? Yeah, I didn't look at this side of the board much during the offseason. Didn't think there was much going on, oops.
  9. Re: Rose I couldn't see a team risking it with someone of Rose's ability, but do NBA teams have repercussions for players they feel are "milking it"?
  10. Duke Gonzaga Michigan Indiana Duke over Michigan
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) Not sure how much love China needs to give NK these days. Its not post WWII where you had Russia/China fighting over communist spheres of influence. NK needs China more than China needs NK. That being said, nothing is going to happen. People in power like to stay in power, NK only has threats. As soon as they act on a threat they are gone. China doesn't want US troops on it's border, which is what would happen with a free unified Korea.
  12. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Really? WW1? WW2? Was it in the name of religion that atomic bombs were dropped? I believe more people have died from greed than religion. Whether a desire for land (Mexican-American War), profits from slavery (Civil War), Oil (take your pick of the past 50 years. Yes, there have been religious wars, but if you study all of the circumstances, greed is usually at the root. They may wrap it in a religious tapestry, but remove it and you see greed. 6 of 1...
  13. So, what do you think about the Six Strkes policy being implemented by the big 5 ISPs? http://www.infoworld.com/t/cringely/isps-w...s-system-213617
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) Didn't he have a big hand in the child molestation cover up? Pun intended?
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) Yes. I'm excited. One of the best comedies on TV right now. I never watched Archer, but I'm an H. Jon Benjamin fan. Is it a serial, or can you just jump in?
  16. He should be, but who knows. I couldn't believe it when they (ESPN radio) were talking about the hall of fame and they said Joe DiMaggio wasn't elected on first ballot.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Yeah, AJ Smith and Norv out in SD Does anyone know if this is a record year for HC/GM firings? There's 8 head coaches fired already. There are some teams that are going to be regretting it when they miss out on the best candidates.
  18. Hmm, I wonder if Peavy will throw at him.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) I ordered a HD Kindle for my daughter for Christmas, looking forward to playing around with it. So, those Kindle HDs are good for porn?
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Was that explained? I must have missed that. I thought the end of last week's episode was just Margaret screaming. Either way, that's a reasonable assumption. Eddie told Nucky. This episode took place just after the events of the last one. They were just getting rid of the crate at the beginning. He made a deal with Bill "the real" McCoy. Remember he said, "Everything of mine is bigger than Nucky's."

    QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) Also Sam Adams Old Fezziwig, damn good stuff! Why oh why can't I get a sixer of this stuff? I wish they sold the chocolate bock by itself. 2 in a twelve pack isn't enough.
  22. Speaking about crybabies, I got this via email. WTF is going on in this country? http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/11/white-ho...from-19-states/
