  1. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 11:55 PM) potential NY Tabs Headline: Uggla Game Probably Ugh-la
  2. Looks like Francona just woke up and realized there wouldn't be a save opportunity for the AL.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) But walks for Paulie supposedly mean nothing, but they are great for Swisher. I don't understand. Earlier a post said Swisher can steal you a base. I guess that's accurated because he does have a steal this year. Plus, everyone wants him at first base. Teams that don't expect their firstbaseman to drive in runs usually have trouble scoring runs, but I guess that would go back to Greg Walker. Outside of a couple of grand slams, Swisher really hasn't been a guy you want batting with runners on base this year. He seems to whiff a lot. So does Paul.

  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) Well, considering that the AL gets to vote for a DH (one more guy than the NL), they get less reserves. So yeah... So the AL gets to play with a bigger roster. OK.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) Ortiz is still taking a spot, Bradley was initially on the team. The roster is all set. If you count up the players, there's 33 including Ortiz. Also, I think the confusion lies in that he had been injured for a while. They new he wouldn't be playing so, so they knew going in they would need an additional player. The situation you are thinking about that would have Dye being added would be if someone got injured after the roster was finalized.
  7. This weekend is just a giant kick in the balls. :angry: :( :(
  8. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) I would be more entertained if there was a walkoff, a home plate sandwitch, fireworks, and a shaving creme pie in the face after the game. Yes, that was quite nice.
  9. 3 outs, then Quentin can walk off. :pray
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) What's our plan after Dotel if not Loaiza? Uribe
  11. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) Interesting. I thought Ozzie absolutely hated Loaiza? Kenny stickin' it to him?
  12. Don't let Ozzie see this. I don't want him getting any ideas.
  13. David Ortiz out for at least a month with a torn tendon in wrist. Season ending surgery may be required.
  14. Guillen has enough after loss By Mark Gonzales - 3:47 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After watching his underachieving offense go 2-for-14 in a 4-3 loss at Tampa Bay, manager Ozzie Guillen promised some changes to his White Sox roster. "Just be ready because I expect movement Tuesday," Guillen said. "I expect Kenny to do something Tuesday, and if we don’t do anything Tuesday, there are going to be a lot of lineup changes. That’s all I’m going to say about the offense. "It can be me. It can be (hitting coach) Greg Walker. It can be the players. It could be anybody. I’m sick and tired to watch this thing for a year and a half. I’m not protecting anybody anymore. (Bleep) it. "If they can’t get it done, Kenny should find someone to get it done. That’s it." link http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....en-has-eno.html
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Swisher will deliver, and make us forget about the idea we tried to get Hunter to play CF. Can I quote you on that?
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ May 16, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) Hawk gives me a headache sometimes. Lucky you
  17. Does this game thread get suspended and reopened on August 25?
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) Fields in LF, Swisher in CF, Quentin in RF, Crede at 3B....in 2009? Why not?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) Facing a guy who's much better against lefty hitters. Of course, not sure why Thome got the start. I think the noon start tomorrow has a lot to do with it too.
