QUOTE(Pasqua's Mailman @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) What on earth is Ortiz complaining about? He's ALWAYS complaining when he gets struck out.
-
That was Awesome!

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) I hope this second base ump gets hit by a car tonight. I honestly would like him to be hit by a car. I bet if you lift up his pants he has red socks on.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Uh oh, lightning never strikes in the same place twice... I f***ING HATE STRETCH. I'm so close to muting the game just because of that call. I don't mind it when it's warranted. But I hate it when it doesn't even reach the warning track. :headshake

Not that I'm a proponent of violence, but I wonder how many left with less teeth than they came with.

This was the one we needed, look at the matchups

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Contreras vs. Arroyo. Contreras should get the edge over Arroyo simply because we know Contreras can be dominant. Arroyo blows and will need a career start to be dominant to the point that we know Contreras can be. Boston owns Contreras. I'd put money on him not even getting the 5 innings. -

I don't even care if they get swept, because come monday, they'll still have chemistry. -
Sad thing is, Garland has to win tomorrow to avoid the sweep. I have ZERO confidence in El Duque and especially Contraras against that lineup. Hopefully Detroit can avoid getting swept by Minnesota.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Uribe = 0 wives beaten Lugo = 1 wife beaten that may be the clincher Maybe he could beat up Ozzie's wife, Timo.

They should go back to the shorts. They were badass!

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) I thought they were penis warmers... [napoleon dynamite] Lucky. [/napoleon dynamite]

Griffey's been with the Reds 5 years already? Wow, time sure flies.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) BMac should be in AA. Damn, he's a drunk too.
-
Damn, have any of you that want him actually seen him this year? The guy throws straight fast balls and doesn't have the velocity anymore. Boston is at or near the bottom in bullpen ERA. Why would a team at the top want to add a team at the bottom's cast-offs?
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Look at last year's Freddy Garcia trade. We were all screaming about how Olivo/Morse/Reed was such a steep price and how Reed would be an All-Star type player and that Olivo will be a great catcher. Look how it turned out. Olivo got sent down. Reed has been good but not great. Morse has been hitting well I guess but to no success rate to the team. That's not fair to compare that deal. They didn't have the CHEMISTRY this team has.

I'll just say this, for all the people who say he's fine and a good number 4 starter, fine. Playoff winning teams do not have "number 4" starters. If he's still in the rotation come October, this team won't win anything. It's all about the ring, beating out Minnesota isn't enough IMO.

They just had a report on WEEI in Boston that the Red Sox and Twins are working on a deal that would exchange Bill Mueller for JC Romero.

ESPN Loser Has This To Say about the Sox
Big Hurtin replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I don't think he's being unfair. I don't think anyone, even the most die-hard ChiSox fan among us, would have seriously predicted us to be this far in front of the league. It drives me crazy when people say this, because it is not the point. If no one predicts player A to hit 50 home runs, for example, and he does; Does that mean he really didn't hit them? The fact of the matter is he is a Red Sox fan, so he has to bring down any team that's not the Red Sox. The thing that bothers me is that you can tell when guys don't actually watch the games. They just look at numbers, but numbers don't tell the WHOLE STORY. His rationale is simplistic and void of any real insight. It's done as a comical piece and should be treated as such. I hate when really biased homers get jobs writing for national publications. The fans lose, and I would say the same thing if it was "Chicago Sports Guy". -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) If Tino Martinez and Paul Konerko are 2 of the top 3 vote getters at 1st base, I wonder who the 3rd guy is. I bet it's somebody else that's entirely non-deserving. You're right, it's Kevin Millar, LOL. The one getting royally screwed is Mark Teixiera.

CBSSportline predicts the All-Star rosters
Big Hurtin replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) He could make it as a reserve, but problaly not a starter. Brian Roberts should be the starter unless he's still hurt when the All Star game comes. I doubt they'll have 3 second basemen. -
The Erstad collision compared to the Burke one.
Big Hurtin replied to wilmot825's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Hunter on Burke. Yep. Even though I hate the twinkies, I actually used to have respect for Torri Hunter. After that happened, I can't even look at the guy without feeling hate. I now think he's a piece of s***. One word, UNNECESSARY. -
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) I think they would trade evert anyway before frank I agree. I was just wondering if it's even a matter for debate, unless Frank is demanding to be traded.
-
CAN they trade Frank Thomas? Wouldn't the 10-5 rule come into effect.
-
QUOTE(Be Good @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Thank you. I think we should be nice to Gammons, since he decides wether teams win or lose. I know what you're saying, but it annoys me when people on national media outlets have a bias. It takes away from their objectivity, thus making their analysis useless.

QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) He sounded like he was a little ticked off that 2 AL Central teams might make the playoffs because he thinks that one of the east or west coast teams would makea better playoff team.. He's probably afraid "his" Red Sox won't.
