The problem is simple: it's home runs and .OPS
Big Hurtin replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The problem may be simple, but high OPS guys cost big $, so... -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) South Park actually did a decent job on this two years ago: I find it funny because there is so much overlap between these people and gun rights folks. Basically, gun control will only hurt legal gun owners. Couldn't the same be said here, that perverts will still be perverts regardless of laws?

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) Meanwhile Jill Stein is in the slammer for vandalizing construction equipment with spray paint lol. I wish I could go 30 years in the future and see what the history books say about this election. destination unreachable

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Thank u for the clarification. I thought I read or heard on O'Reilly that whites were no longer a majority in terms of numbers. Is that really important for you?

2016-2017 NCAA football thread
Big Hurtin replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm surprised there are so many ranked vs. ranked the first week. It should be a good weekend of football. -
Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
Big Hurtin replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox are barrelling down the tracks to "if a tree falls in the woods..." territory. -
Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
Big Hurtin replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It makes sense that he wants to win, since the definition of want is to lack. -
If I have to pick one, I'll go with The Wire, but they have had so many great series through the years. It annoys me that I didn't have HBO when Larry Sanders aired originally, and it isn't on HBO GO.

I still don't understand what makes sporting events the place to sing the national anthem. You don't see this at other events.

Gauranteed Irate Field would also work.

One letter off from guaranteed rate Field, convenient.

Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
Big Hurtin replied to Donaldo's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This just strengthens my opinion that Hahn is just the money man, i.e. working out the particulars in contracts. The big ideas are above his head. -
He's not running on policy, he's running on rhetoric. If he fools enough people, we'll get what we deserve.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) Said even better... KenWo @KenWo4LiFe 1h1 hour ago Oak Forest, IL So uh... The @Cubs fire the DJ for playing "smack my b**** up", but the guy who actually did the smacking of the b**** is all good. Gotcha. You think the White Sox or any other MLB organization would act differently? It's called low hanging fruit. I was surprised it was their own guy (or woman) that played it, though.

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
Big Hurtin replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they won't approve a Cuban, what chance does a Kenyan have? If true... -
I don't know if it's politically motivated or not, but some nut is currently climbing up the Trump Tower.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Ah, this is all according to form. Hillary gets the preferential treatment from the FBI and it's been all downhill since. With the media's help, the runaway train scenario is now being played out. Hillary (who gave a horrible, say nothing screamathon speech at the convention and was jeered during the speech; a speech that nonetheless got rave reviews) now is granted the "runaway winner" scenario over the rude kook Donald Trump. Trump is getting the media tag of being a rude wacko who will bring us to war right away and is getting no air time except for the "wackjob Trump" stories. Hillary meanwhile is staying fairly quiet as the media does the coronating for her. Very sad and pathetic we can't have a fair election. Hillary shouldn't spend a dime on her campaign. She's getting all the free publicity she needs. The "landslide" scenario has been painted. Stately (lol) former First Lady, the stately, accomplished Secretary of State (lol) runs away with election over the Republican nutjob/racist/warmonger. Trump should drop out. He has nothing to gain by staying in and letting this scenario continue. Nothing but positive stuff in the Hillary soundbites; nothing but horror expressed during the Trump soundbites. Your computer...

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) I think WSD said it would have to a Betts package. Then on trade deadline day, I thought Phil Rogers said they were unwilling to include Moncada and Benintendi in a deal. So I could see that article being somewhat correct. Moncada, Betts, and Boegarts were untouchables from Red Sox. Benintendi, I'm not sure about, but wouldn't have been enough for Sale.

JR and Co. care about winning, in the ledger. As long as there's a percentage of the fanbase who believes that: A. Over-the-hill hasbeens will perform like the back of their cards. B. Long term deals will forever doom the franchise, and that financial flexibility is in their (the fans) best interest. C. They've done things in the same manner for years, but this time will be different. The White Sox will continue to be a mediocre at best on-field product.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Jim Bowden calls the White Sox "flat out losers." http://sportsmockery.com/2016/08/espn-anal...ox-flat-losers/ the video is toward the bottom.
