  1. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) THANK YOU i totaly agree with you. if we cant beat the A's we dont deserve to be in the world series. I am glad we agree....Nice post! Thank you! I was hoping people would respond like this!
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) You are probably the worst thread maker in the history of the world.... seriously, what the hell is your problem.
  3. Bring on Oakland. Bring on WHOEVER. Sorry folks, but just winning a playoff series might cut it for some of you, but it doesn't cut it with me. I want a WS appearance, at the very least. This team might be able to do it. It might not. But I wanna know. I wanna know if this team is for real. Bring on whoever is the toughest. Bring em all on. I don't want to pussyfoot around a bad matchup. If we can't beat Oakland, we don't deserve to go the WS.
  4. 258,581 for the seven game homestand. Average of 36,940. That is just in-f***ing-sane Were all the boston games officially sellouts? The real question is, do you think they can come back and face Toronto and Seattle and draw 33,000+ a night for those two series, or does the attendance drop back down to the mid 20s or even lower?
  5. I like ozzie's new policy of "you walk a guy as a reliever, you're gone"
  6. I've supported this guy staunchly for 4 years and my support is severely wavering with every day he continues to post a .240something average
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) That's nice. I know, isn't it?
  8. compare the career avgs. compare the homers/season Joe Crede = Jose Valentin or at least approximates him
  9. Clearly, he is career .2sucky average but enough pop to warrant an ML contract luckily for him he can play defense at least on most nights I'm just about done with this guy
  10. I was half-listening, but I think ESPN 1000 just said that Frank was gonna take it day-to-day
  11. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) There's also the possibility that Trammel might have gone to another reliever sooner instead of letting "the Farns" stay out there. Exactly.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) He had no control. Nice try. I don't buy revisionism. It sucks. Every situation would've been different, including the way the pitches were called and how the defense was set for each batter.
  13. Dingman is not a good name for a pitcher
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Would their closer farnsworth not be in? would he have pitched differently with a 2 run lead? absolutely.
  15. you guys are the ones who are uneffing real. you really think this would be the same pitched bottom of the ninth with just a two run lead? come on you revisionists
  16. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) All of you stop crying. We have the best record still. I heard this team called the Seattle Mariners had a similar chant in 2001...maybe you can tell me how they hit in the postseason
  17. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Frank hit the ball hard as hell last night -- just came up a few feet short and left a few times. It just looks like he swinging for the fences 3/4 times he's up every night
  18. Anyway, going back to Frank, I'm willing to give him until 8/15 to straighten it out, but if he's at 2 months in and still hitting .230-.240 (or less!) I'm gonna be pretty damn concerned. I would basically platoon him with Everett at that point. I wonder how he would react to being dropped in the order.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Actually its disgusting how much people overate Paulie.... he could be hitting .220 but when he bats all the fans chant Paulie like he is a god...... He's not hitting .220, though. He's hitting nearly .260, and it keeps climbing. I dunno, even though he is slow as dirt if he gets that average up to .270-.275 with 35+ jacks I'll take that from my first baseman. No matter how it's compiled.
  20. well, if there's 1st and 2nd and less than two outs for Paulie, it's an automatic GIDP, that's why he's hitting .244 with RISP
  21. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Frank makes everyone around him better. He takes pitches. I'm more concerned with Konerko at this point. Konerko hit .293 in June and is hitting .291 in July?
  22. He looks pretty lost at the plate lately. Sure, he can muscle a ball out of the park with his strength a few times, but it seriously looks like he is swinging on one leg. I'm not sure how long we can afford to have a 3 hitter batting .218, or even .230, no matter how many jacks he has. His OBP is also inching down close to .300...not good. What do you think we should do if this continues through, say, the next two-three weeks?
  23. I don't drink at the games....it's a waste of money
