  1. ERA means nothing. Look at his April outing against the Twins. The guy had a WHIP of 2+ but an ERA of something like 3.5
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) The Cubans are a problem. Why couldn't they be one pitcher name Jolando Contrandez. A guy with balls that knows how to pitch with talent. The talent coming from Contreras and the balls/knowledge coming from Duque. Unfortunately, we have two half pitchers. Tyson Curry?
  3. Check out his WHIP. He should have an ERA about a run higher than it is. Flat out, Contreras is a mediocre pitcher with good stuff. He can't throw strikes consistently enough, and when he does, he occasionally gets really shelled.
  4. If the date works, I'd love to come.
  5. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) How do you know it's a sellout? Ticketmaster stops selling tix 4 hrs from game time, and sometimes people mistake that as a sellout. Was it reported somewhere? On ESPN 1000 about 10 minutes ago.
  6. After I edit it, it will still be quoted three times in this thread.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) You might want to edit that last word out. You're right. I might want to.
  8. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) my response is one of the dumbest yet.
  9. If you have extras please meet me out in front of comiskey at 6:45 I have a Sox jersey and Sox hat on.
  10. thread is f***ing hilarious
  11. I am listening to this s*** too, and I'm pretty f***ing enraged at his obviously ignorant dismissal of our team.
  12. I can see where you're coming from Ribbie. I thought it would be fun to see if people could guess it, because I certainly could not have. I'm not trying to be cryptic...I thought people would assume I'm a White Sox fan from my username.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) OK. Do that. Maybe on the Sports bar board. And, uh.. woah, yourself.. not me. You're the one who called me out.
  14. Yes. With a username referencing the great Greg Hibbard, it's obvious that I'm not a White Sox fan. Come on people, read through my posts. I hate the Yankees. I would love for nothing more than to see them fail. They have compiled, with the White Sox, the best record in the AL over the last 70 days. That's surprising.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Please.. don't. Since this is the Pale Hose Forum. Maybe you could list the Yanks transaction on the Sports Bar board.. or maybe a Yankee board. Whoa, Steff. I am a White Sox fan. Believe it or not, White Sox fans can occasionally point out that others teams are to be reckoned with while remaining White Sox fans.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Do you always board like it's 2003?
  17. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) What guys????? For starters, in 2004, they added a guy who won 20 games in 2003. How bout that. Dave Justice in 2000. Do you really want me to run down a laundry list?
  18. Steff, what exactly is weird about this thread? I'm just pointing out that while we are cruising along at a good clip, another team has compiled the identical record we have over the past two plus months and they are gonna be a force to be reckoned with. I think it's easy to dismiss the Yankees because of their streakiness this year. However, when you look at that 38-22 in the last 60, look at their payroll, their roster and their history of going out and getting guys, it's certainly much more scary than just looking at the surface record of just a few games over .500....
  19. I hope you guys are right, because I think they are one good starter away from being scary with that lineup and that bullpen.
  20. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Its not the offseason. how will they obtain these pitchers? I would like to know. Fill us in on the inside info you have. When has a depleted farm system ever prevented the Yankees from getting anyone they wanted midseason?
