  1. If we get swept at home by Baltimore in the 2022 “championship” season managed by a hall of fame manager, it’s the low point of the last 12 years.
  2. Don't Danny Mendick and Jake Burger count as success stories of our farm system?
  3. Eh, I don't understand or subscribe to this "if you don't win the world series you are a failure" mentality. There is a middle ground. If the Sox win the division and advance to the Championship series, that is a successful season even if they lose that series. Is it what we ultimately want? Of course not, but it would be a successful year.
  4. How is it that we consistently have an uncoached group of players who has no fucking idea how to call anyone off or make routine plays?
  5. Not even Jason and Steve have anything to say after that. Just silence
  6. I don’t know how many more innings of this I can take. Maybe 4, but certainly not 5.
  7. Oh this is going to be an even more excruciating loss.
  8. It really sucks knowing the player you are rooting for will not be able to do it.
  9. We are gonna get a Leury Legend PH ab, aren’t we?
  10. this game isn’t a Hahn or Tony loss, to me, it’s just a team that is too short to execute for many reasons but mostly still injury. I think we all knew this was going to be a low scoring duel that the Jays were gonna wait Cease out on and beat us late. I think the scary thing is that Cease is developing a reputation as a guy who can’t make it to the 7th inning because of pitch count and no matter how many strikeouts you amass, that is not a good thing.
  11. Even when we were up 2-0, this always felt like a loss. And that’s coming from a board optimist.
  12. I think Leury is just fine and will hit his eventual .268 number he always does, but I would cut bait because Burger, Mendick, and a healthy Moncada make him obselete in the infield, and Vaughn, Eloy, Pollock, Engel, Robert make him obsolete in the outfield.
  13. I think it’s all so frustrating because they aren’t good enough while this banged up and short benched to make a big move, but they also aren’t bad enough to fall completely out of it. Truth be told, when I step back, I’m kind of amazed they didn’t fall into a complete black hole / death March / 10 losses in a row debacle with TA out. Thank god for Mendick and Vaughn.
  14. I hope this series clarified that we need to move on from guys like Harrison and Haseley if we are going to win in the playoffs. If TA and Eloy come back for the entire rest of the way I think this team is going to win a lot more.
  15. Here’s something that seems truly bizarre for us to chew on: since the 8 game losing streak - despite all the injuries and bad play - the Sox are 25-22 (.532 winning percentage). If they were to play at a .532 winning percentage for the rest of the season, they would still win exactly 84 games… so they only have to play a few games better over the next 99 games than they have in the last 41 games to win 90 games. As bad as they’ve seemed to be, it’s been pretty decent, winning baseball over the last 41 games.
