Kind of a funny story...I was at a party with Dustin back in 2000 (when he was still a mediocre starter with the cardinals). Basically, he partly grew up in the same hometown as a bunch of friends of mine from the Detroit area. I didn't really talk to him much that night, as I didn't know him and didn't think much of him as a pitcher. Hilariously, two of my buddies came into the living room complaining that he had essentially bogarted their stash, if you catch my drift. He was kind of a party animal that night. We immediately started calling him Dusty thereafter.
Kind of ironic that he's a Sox now and so dominant. I love rooting for him.

Frank's and Buehrle's seemed equally loud during Thunderstruck. I thought the extended ovation during his first atbat was probably distracting if anything.

Honestly what bothers me more is people just saying "board blows today guys" and "this topic sucks". It's just dumb, junior high school behavior, but it's par for the course on the internet I suppose. I usually ignore topics I find aren't good and try to discuss things that I think are worthwhile topics.

What the hell about that is a personal attack?
Yeah, I was pissed. I had put up a couple of topics myself today and I think saying things like "topic sucks" and "board blows, guys" are not only along the same lines as what I said, they are just flat out asenine things to say that add nothing to the discussion and don't make the board any better for anyone.

Indirect attacks are okay....as long as you thoroughly slam content and never the boarder? The moment I say "someone" sucks for saying something and not "something" sucks that's said BY someone...that's when I can look forward to a banning?

Wow, thanks for all the input guys! I will check out the matchups and make a decision.
I'm leaning Intimidators too, because I just love the team name and logo.

* We played two first place teams and a rivalry series, all on the road. Texas and Anaheim are in the top five of AL teams.
* Sure, the team lost a game it shouldn't have (Contreras/McPherson), but we also stole one from Zambrano and we got one from Colon too.
* Look at the pitching we faced: Maddux, Zambrano, Prior, E. Santana (who threw like the other Santana that night) Colon, Washburn, Lackey (who owns the Sox in his career) and then faced a red hot Young, Park (at Tex, where he's dominant) and then Washburn again. Not a slouch matchup in the mix.
Looking ahead to June, that will be a true indication of how this team does. We have only 9 games on the road, 5 days off, and we are playing many weak teams. If we don't win at least 16 or 17 games in June, then I'll be concerned.

Which minor league team should I check out? They're about an equal drive from Greensboro and I believe both are playing at home

I love how Gammons said preseason that Detroit and Cleveland were talented teams on the rise, and now they're suddenly "weak" teams.

Just got back from the game. Ozzie made about 8 mistakes, and we got away with one.
I had great seats though....section 126, row 10, right on the aisle.

Hopefully K-Rod wont be an option, but the good news is that the Sox have had success this year against every one of the Angels stud relievers, except that Peralta kid. If they put him in as the closer tonite, the Sox could be in trouble.
I was at that game. Pena actually ran Byrd out there for the tenth, and then took him out. He pitched so well that me and another guy gave it up for Byrd. He owned us that night. It was like 9 innings, 1 run.
