Oh absolutely.

As just a fan, the challenge seemed like the right call at the time. I’m pretty sure it showed that he was clearly in.

You joke, but that’s probably the quickest route to becoming the Director of Minor League Operations.

Please come up with nicknames more clever than Eberass and Eberloser. They don’t even flow. Maybe like Eberfool? Or Eberlose? You guys are better than this.
-
They absolutely wouldn’t. But it’s nice that Williams was the obvious top choice by almost everyone, because now it cements how bad the Bears are as a franchise.

Dick Allen, Tommy John up for HOF Consideration
Milkman delivers replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’d say Allen, John, and Parker should get in. I actually figured Tommy John was already in. His numbers plus inventing that surgery should be an automatic in. -
Another Chicago coach being kept around way longer than they should when everyone knew they needed a change. How fitting.

Sounds like neither the coach nor the QB will be beloved. -
I guess I can’t argue with that

Is this because of that guy’s dislike of Latin music? I feel like people are reading what he said as being about all Latin players. I read it as him saying Latin music, Moncada, and the guy on the Mets (?) suck.

Venable named new Sox Manager-per Merkin
Milkman delivers replied to Vote4Pedro's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That jumped out at me. 43 innings is a small sample size. 24 innings is a small sample size. But 5 appearances? Clearly enough to say the Sox righted him. And if the Sox did fix him, and then traded him for the garbage they acquired, then that speaks even less of Getz. -

Greg, you do this all the time. You attach to an idea and it’s then an unquestionable truth. Venable is not a good manager. Not yet, at least. He hasn’t done the job yet. Don’t get ahead of yourself. He may be the team’s saving grace, or he may be another Grifol. -

They really jogged out those grounders. -
I don’t own a Maserati because they’re not dependable.

Like Anderson, this guy and Eloy will be out of baseball within a season or two.

Venable named new Sox Manager-per Merkin

After the explanation, I’m thinking it’s one of those meaningless titles to make people feel better about their role. Like a company having 500 vice presidents. A distinction without a difference. This is not me trashing Venable either. -

Can someone explain to me what an associate manager is exactly? I know Venable was one for the Rangers, but that was the first time I’d ever heard of it. -

Before reading through this thread, I’d like to say a few things. 1) I was wrong. 2) White Sox, you really surprised me in a good way. 3) Will, sorry about your future in baseball. -
Funny that a franchise that is almost as bad as the Sox is considering 2 of the 3 same hires, but the one they’re not considering is the clear worst choice and the one we all know the Sox will pick.
-
Not sure if I heard it here or on the radio, but apparently the Bears have never fired a head coach during the season. They’re also cheap as f***. So yeah, Eberflus has all season to destroy the team’s future.

I think we all know, on some level, that it’s gonna be Nevin.
-
What is with this? You talk about bringing in white guys in a way that’s obviously supposed to be derogatory, then mention guys named Lopez and Maldonado. Why even bring race into it? I mean, 5 members of the opening day starting lineup were minorities.

Hahahaha. I actually said they were going to win about halfway through the 4th quarter. Figured since Washington couldn’t break the game open, the Bears would sneak out with a last minute win.
