QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) Fun Fact: Just got a kitten recently and named it Gozer Like.
-
I never thought about it before, but what the hell is Gozer wearing? QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Bleh. There are a thousand emotionless killer villains. He just stole Two Face's coin gimmick and added a woman's haircut. I agree. It's another reason why I think others deserved the Oscar over Javier Bardem. I don't think it takes much acting talent to portray an emotionless killer. It's like the exact opposite of range.

Kenny gets new special assistant

Any ties to Antonio Ozuna are fine with me. For some reason, I always liked that guy. Hell, I like anyone by the last name Ozuna. -
If they go into the 2012 season with a franchise belief of something like "If Dunn and Rios bounce back, we'll be right in contention", they will fail miserably. Dunn and Rios are both guys that can only perform when there is no pressure. Being on a contending team will almost certainly prevent them from producing by itself. If you're putting the pressure of competing on their performances alone, we'll see repeats of 2011.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) Amazing to me that no one seemed interested in Martinez. I wonder if there is something known about him within the industry that we just aren't aware of... That he f***s players' wives?

People love to play devil's advocate.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) Yeah, I get all the mileage on the arm stuff and the inexperience stuff, however, like many football players who turn into baseball players and miss out on serious development time in their teens and early twenties, I think most of the time its hard to get that back. IMO, there's a better chance Santos is what he is or can improve slightly, which would make him All Star calibur, than a guy who is going to keep growing based on his lack pitching experience. He'll probably be terrific most of the season, but make a few boneheaded pitches in crucial situations to keep from being called truly elite. I like him, and wouldn't trade him unless I knew I was getting more than he's worth, but I don't think his upside is much higher than where he's at now. But that's still pretty good. You make some good points. I agree with your stance.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Does anyone want to make the case that Edgerton/Hardy are better in Warrior than Bale/Wahlberg in The Fighter? Warrior seems a little bit more like a promotional vehicle for MMA... In that sense, I would say it's clearly better than Real Steel (similar genre), but still not the overall quality of acting across Fighter with Amy Adams and Melissa Leo. Nolte was solid, though. And I always like the guy who plays the school principal in Warrior...I think the first time I remember seeing him was in the movie DAVE. Ha, I knew who you were talking about before even checking to see who the principal was.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) Knucks on Cruella. Knucks to Milkman for matching my Samuel Norton nomination and for Hook, who I put 12. My taste in everything is so eclectic that I have the top vote for different characters about ten times on each of these lists. I don't even know how it's possible.

QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) Wow. This is probably the best news all off-season so far. Agreed! -
I have another Daniel Day-Lewis villain on my list rather than Plainview. And the more I see the movie, the more overrated the character of Anton Chigurh is. Tom Wilkinson should have run away with the Oscar that year for Michael Clayton.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) I know Mr Milkman only you have common sense. Well, you and a few others that share your feelings. If you want to make things personal then tell me something that has been suggested that isn't "common sense?" Anything you say and I say are opinions and only opinions. You have a knack for making comments that seem like atatcks on others who you disagree with. You would not do well in a debate. If the high priced non performer is dragging the team down then you get rid of them. Try to get something for them, or release them. You don't keep them on the team where they strangle you. I hoe these charactters meaning Rios and Dunn can turn things around in 2012. If not we had better be looking at some plan. It's not that easy, and you seem to be the only person that doesn't grasp that. It's maddening.

I want it known that I voted for Captain Hook solely for Dustin Hoffman's portrayal.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) No one. Wants. High priced non-performers. So you can't trade them. You can't. Trade them. Nonsense. Just trade them and sign Albert Pujols.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) I've just always said Mark. There was never any other Mark on our team worthy of talking about... Mark Johnson?! -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Have it your way. I have been around long enough to know what to believe and not believe. If it happens ok, but be prepared for several years of second division ball. Now if you want to truly shed payroll you get rid of the high priced non-performers. Suck it up! Apparently you haven't been around long enough for common sense to set it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) I don't really get the Mark! thing, never did. But M56 is nice, and a lot easier to type than Buehrle. Haha, I get it. I just never understood shortening typed things. It takes like a half second to type the whole name. -

I'm willing to let him walk now, simply so I don't have to see the nicknames M-56 or Mark! again. -
QUOTE (Nunnigan @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) This news isnt much of a shock. They need to rebuild and in doing so, they need to trade some of their blue chips. Agreed. And your avatar is strangely not arousing. I feel like that girl would kick my ass, and it scares me.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 08:56 AM) So many of those players didn't live up to their contracts, I think teams finally wised up a little bit. The players can blame Brown, Neagle, Burnett, Pavano, Wright, etc. Teams should have wised up a long time ago, but at least it's finally happening. A guy like C.J. Wilson, who put together two good years, would easily be looking at almost ten years at $20 million a season. Then he'd disappear into the middle of the pack.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) Meh. With all the porn & hot chicks available on the internet, it's no big deal anymore. +1
