  1. QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) I worked for a summer in a special victims unit of a DA's office. That's the type of trash that we would get. Some monster would be caught with a kid or talking about meeting a kid, computer confiscated, and all these transcripts of messages like those would be on my desk to sort through. I read very little at that link but it reminds me of exactly how I felt back then. The act is horrific enough, but I always assumed they felt guilty for their actions. They don't. I also assumed pedos were rare. They aren't. That would be why I have no remorse for those who covered this up. How do you mean "rare"? I always assumed they were pretty rare as well, but I never thought of the number. I probably would have said something like roughly a few hundred in a big city. It's something I could never wrap my mind around, and always figured most pedophiles were that way because they were abused or neglected.
  2. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) I saw Harold and Kumar in 3D last night. Pretty entertaining, pretty much exactly what i expected - gratuitous nudity, coke, NPH being awesome, ridiculousness. I was concerned they were going to be obnoxious with the 3D schtick throughout the movie but it's only over the top for the first few minutes. I think my favorite joke (that apparently went over the heads of everyone in the theater) . Overall, it was as-advertised, though I don't think it was worth the $16 for a 3D movie (especially on a Tuesday night). The second one was awful, so I have no plans on seeing this one.
  3. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) As soon as they killed Tom Arnold's character, my first thought was exactly this. Like others, I'm glad Opie is finally unleashed; at least, I hope he is. Last night's episode had some good moments, but there's no way it needed to be 90 minutes. I was thinking that at about 1:20.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) It will be interesting to see what happens with Bobby. I would imagine he goes to prison for a visit and let's the news go down that Tom Arnold is in fact dead, just in time that Otto doesn't sign off on his "stories". Yes, another perfectly-timed plot contrivance. That's definitely what this show would do.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) Yes. I am excited that Opie is going to get another big storyline. Those are always the best. I still think Tig swoops in and does the job.
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) I actually prefer Buehrle to stay more-so than Konerko when he was in his process, so it's hard to really gauge a value with my head instead of with my heart. If this somehow helps future stud Danks resigns... thanks for everything Mark. You're still waiting for that to happen?
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 08:51 AM) 3 yrs - $36 million. And some kind of mutual option for the 4th year. This.
  8. Maybe it's just to make the transition easier for his wife when the inevitable happens? I mean, the guy's 84.
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 09:03 AM) Avril Lavigne Bandaids is a really amazing board. What could that possibly be about? I refuse to even check it
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) DKnobler DKnobler Kenny Williams says if White Sox can make deals he wants, they would officially be "rebuilding" 50 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply Yes!
  11. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Wasn't Gary Ward the guy several ex-Sox players said set them back as players due to his lack of hitting knowledge? He'd certainly fit in with the hires this offseason.
  12. When is the last time someone won unanimously? There are usually a few jerks who throw it off.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) This. You disappoint me again, milk. I don't listen to sports radio.
  14. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) Read the graphic novel. That is all. No.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) ESPN/TBS/TNT should have some NBA time to fill. :rimshot:
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) That's interesting. Everything I had heard made it sound like Oswalt only wanted to play for a contender or he might retire. I realize the Royals have the best farm system this side of Theo, but they still aren't close to major playoff contenders. They'd certainly take a big step in that direction if they land Oswalt, especially if they bring in another good starter as well.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) Somebody call Bale's agent, lets set this up. Isn't there a dumb show like this on UPN or CW or one of those awful networks?
  18. I think there were far too many for them to just be family.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:01 AM) It's worth asking how a trained psychologist hears about something that made the children "uncomfortable" and then decided to do nothing. Link. There's more to this one. Making $130,000 a year by running a charity? That may be commonplace, but it sounds so wrong.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) That would actually insinuate that something happens on this show that involves a plan and good writing. Haha, I'm still giving them rope.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) Maybe the only movie he's seen him in was The Machinst That's about the only explanation that works, other than "I think I'm the toughest guy in the room no matter where I go" syndrome. QUOTE (onedude @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 08:48 AM) I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that he added another 20lbs of muscle this time for Batman from the last time he played Batman It's the same thing with Matt Damon. He might not be tough at all, but doing those Bourne movies have jacked him up and he's probably gotten training for it. I think it'd be foolish to say that I'd "definitely" beat his ass.
  22. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:24 AM) So you think Mr. Bale is the only one on this planet who's had some "decent" training in martial arts and boxing huh? And you think putting on an extra 20 pounds of muscle on a 6' less than 200lb frame while he prepares to run around in a cape makes this 37 year old man invincible? Maybe he'll destroy YOU. You're funny. And this is a stupid argument. No offense, but you're sounding like "internet tough guy" personified.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:19 AM) I'm catching up on The Walking Dead (now just one episode behind), and I have to say it's getting pretty stupid. You find a zombie in a well. It's not really causing any harm. Drink water from well and you may or may not = zombie (they didn't really establish that... is the water contaminated? Is it not? Have these people been selectively ignoring that well for months?) Either way, no harm was coming to any one. So let's send our token Asian who looks like he's trying out for a Temple of Doom sequel and send him down the well. Why? I guess the water in this well (1 of 7 on the property), that has gone ignored for quite some time, is now precious. Of course 7 people can't properly lower a 150 lb dude down the well to TIE A F*CKING ROPE AROUND A WATER-BLOATED ZOMBIE. The fact that while dangling and freaking for his life after the fountain breaks this dude was able to lasso our zombie friend is stupid enough, but also they showed the group gain at least 10-15 feet on the ground pulling the rope up, while Glenn isn't being raised at all within the well. So then they raise the zombie out, and the zombie breaks in half. Nice effects, pretty nasty stuff. The reaction? "Well, we should definitely seal off that well." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You go through all this crap, happily endanger Glenn's life, in order to save a well that apparently no one cared about until that day, and then the "rescue" goes so terribly you "should seal off that well". Genius. The well should have just been sealed immediately and a pulled put in the zombie's head. Other Notes: Lori is knocked up. Like I give a s***. Just let your husband raw dog you like you let Shane and act like it's his kid. We're to believe it hasn't been that long since episode 1, so it'd be within the realm of possibility that it's Rick's when the little bastard is born. The Charlize Theron lookalike (Lauren Cohan, must have gotten a nose job) banged Glenn. This is the first time I've wished the show were on HBO or Showtime so we could have seen her boobs. Lori is to The Walking Dead as Gemma is to Sons of Anarchy. Crazy theory coming. Hershel and his family are actively turning people into zombies. The daughter pointed the survivors to the well with the zombie in it. There are 7 wells on that property, and the zombie in the well had clearly been there a long time. Once infected, the new zombies are corralled into the barn. Not sure why they would be doing this, but my guess is that it's some crazy religious thing. We're already seeing that Hershel isn't the sweet old man that he originally seemed to be.
