  1. This is worse than watching a little league game.
  2. I see we’re all asking the same question. I logged in specifically to ask. He thought the runner was on first instead of third?
  3. I’ve been trying to catch up with this thread, but it just keeps getting longer. Can someone let me know if it’s worth catching up on, or is it the same handful a posters making and re-making the same points without any openness to the other side’s argument?
  4. A few months too late. His value was never going to be higher than this past offseason when he had just had an entire healthy year. But yes, trade anyone of value.
  5. There are still quite a few innings left, but I’m pretty sure they’re not winning. That’s where I’m disagreeing. Guys with no real shot that are looking for their big break, sure they’ll take it. But nobody with any buzz, or any pedigree, or really any up and comer is taking it.
  6. I only care that my joke was funny. I’m not reading it anyway.
  7. Is it mean-spirited? Yes. But there’s very little a frustrated and neglected fanbase can do on a national level to draw attention to such shitty ownership/management to embarrass them. I support this, but there’s no way I’m wasting my own time voting.
  8. I’ll say it. For three ghosts to visit JR.
  9. Have we fallen under .500 for JR’s tenure as owner? That guy deserves it.
  10. LOLOLOLOLOL I fucking love this team.
  11. BREAKING: Manager with career winning percentage near .333 and current team on pace for worst season in baseball history is in peril of being shitcanned. Sports writers are really good at getting those scoops.
  12. I reined in my pessimism when I should’ve leaned into it. Rookie mistake.
  13. This is in no way for sure, but a cursory Google search indicates that the lowest season batting average was .074 by Joe Werrick in 1884. That seems like another doable record for this team.
  14. This team is far from boring, just not in a good way. I thought pretty much the same thing. Knew they’d be worse due to having much less talent, but I thought they’d be fundamentally solid.
  15. I’m still not sold that Ohtani wasn’t involved with his incident, and I wouldn’t put it past MLB to go along with it because he’s their biggest star and a huge foreign draw. In case it wasn’t clear what I was getting at.
  16. Good point. Athletes aren’t known to be the smartest.
  17. I do wonder if all of these stem from people snitching on these guys. Otherwise, I’m not sure how these guys get caught as it’s not illegal to bet through the online portals. It’s obviously different for guys going through illegal books.
  18. Any chance he conveniently has a translator that had access to all of his money? Oh, he’s just a fringe prospect. Nope then.
  19. Dude, I came into this thread to make this exact joke except I was gonna say that this sounds like an old Negro League player.
  20. I mean, he’s technically the guy you’re dealing with the most as a fan. Individual players aren’t involved in every play, but you’re hearing the announcer every minute of every game. If he sucks, he’s going to make the experience of watching a game worse. Seems reasonable to complain about it. Doesn't matter to me. I mainly watch games on mute while doing something else. Not sure I’d even know the guy’s voice if I heard it.
  21. Pham joins the long list of players on this year’s team that can get fucked. What a boner.
  22. I’ve been telling you guys. This can be pretty enjoyable as long as you stop caring. It’s fun seeing them find ways to suck.
  23. With Vaughn and Benintendi hurt, the Sox are probably better. This puts the loss record in jeopardy. I’m not being sarcastic.
  24. That’s patently false. At least half of the guys the Sox put out there were not outfielders.
