2024 playoffs...World Series: Dodgers/Yankees
Milkman delivers replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
Maybe I’m the only person that doesn’t give a s%*# about this World Series. I haven’t turned on one second of the games. -
At the very least, it seems like they’re going through a real process this time and conducting an actual search. Although I’m sure they’ll hire the wrong guy in the end.
-
So, anyone who managed here and went to another team left for an arguably worse franchise each time? Still doesn’t say much about our choices and what this franchise does to careers.
-
For someone to not remember such enormous aspects of the 2005 playoffs, it makes me think they weren’t actually that into it.
-
Cleveland absolutely blowing this for themselves.
-
No, I do not believe there is.
-
I have absolutely no interest in a Dodgers-Yankees WS. Give me the Yankees, I guess, but I won’t be watching any games. The Yankees were the best team in the AL pretty much the entire season. Just because they didn’t wow you in the exactly two games you watched them doesn’t change that.

I think I’m gonna regret asking, but how so? I don’t know anything about him outside his playing days.
-
We can agree there.

The Case to Eliminate Two Strike Foul Balls
Milkman delivers replied to Texsox's topic in The Diamond Club
Not sure what the argument is here exactly, but it’s harder for the batter to hit the ball than for the pitcher to throw it past him. So if anything, a batter that stays alive that long should earn a walk rather than the pitcher earn an out. -
You actually make me root against our own players.
-
Yes, but how many hits did the Yankees have?
-
I would simply win and not lose. What are you idiots not understanding? Couldn’t be simpler.
-
Well, this round is shaping up to be more interesting than the last one.

Shortest Caulfield post of all time.
-
I believe he played baseball. Off topic: With all due respect, if this guy played today, we’d have definitely nicknamed him Hairy Chapped Ass after his first bad game.
-
RIP. But is @Harry Chappas ok?

So Carmel isn’t what they used to be, huh? Serious question, not a jab at BR. -
Terry Francona reportedly hired by Reds

It’s also a career killer. The only hope is that you get some complete unknown who has an absurdly meticulous nature, but for whatever reason was not given a chance anywhere else. Somebody that would change every single aspect of the team. That’s a one-in-a-million chance. What you’ll actually get is some career coach with no other chances (Grifol) or someone like Sizemore who has no downside because he didn’t even have a job in the recent past and nobody expects anything from him.
