Grifol: DeJong, Lopez, Maldonado are good on offense
Milkman delivers replied to Quin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I shouldn’t be one to talk. I’ll probably still make it to my recent average of 2-3 games a year despite my disgust. Although I’ll mostly just be eating and drinking while paying little to no attention to the game. -

Some are exactly that stupid. Some meathead fan called into the Score yesterday to complain that people are crapping on the Sox. He then proceeded to list all of the terrible players that will help the team this year. They only need to fool enough people to get a decent amount to show up at the games and/or buy season packages. -

Completely agree with you, especially at the end. And I think I phrased it poorly. I was talking more about the analysts and reporters that get interviewed by the hosts, not the hosts themselves. I know it’s them trying to play it safe, but screw that. I want to hear your opinion on it, not a non-answer. -

I hate that no professional commentator on any show (that I’ve heard) has said the Bears should move on from Fields when they’ve been asked directly. They all give evasive answers and say something like “we don’t know how it is inside the locker room” or something similar. Just say yes. One person just have the balls to say it when everyone knows they’re drafting a quarterback anyway. -
Sox set ambitious goal for Yoan, Eloy: actually play baseball

Anyone ever kind of pissed at themselves for missing out on making a pretty obvious, but solid gold joke? Because that’s how I felt reading this post. Kudos. -
A team of detectives gets sent to every single person shot incident with one detective assigned as the lead. The problems start with treating what you’d consider lower-level crimes as no big deal. It takes years, but that leads to worse crime. Think of criminals as children. You let them get away with more and more petty s%*#, they build off of that and push the envelope and eventually your kid is an adult jagoff. You don’t think someone with very bad intentions hasn’t noticed that this woman got a loaded gun into the park? If she can be punished to the fullest extent of the law, she should be. And the park security has to make noticeable changes.

I understand a lot of what you’re saying, but carrying a gun inside of a sports complex with thousands of other people is a little bigger than an accidental discharge. And it’s legally prohibited. You go after the person and make an example out of them to deter the next person. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen in this case due mainly to the actions of the involved parties, but you have to try.

People assume the pressure to “cover it up” would come from the mayor to protect a single teacher. That may be true, but it seems a big risk for a lowly individual teacher. We all understand that Johnson won because of the CTU, but him making the investigation go away for a single teacher seems far out. I would think the greatest pressure would come from the billionaire whose business would be directly impacted, but maybe I’m alone on that. I think what you’re gonna see is a report that simply says no theory can be ruled out completely, which isn’t exactly untrue due to the lack of cooperation from the involved parties. Not a “cover up”. And since no theory can be officially disproven, the Sox will lean hard that it had to have come from outside. And the media will probably go along with it in order to maintain access to the team.

I’d say there are probably some leaps made in this statement, but it’s likely pretty close to the truth based on the facts that have come out. I know it’s a longer thread, but I’d suggest you read through it. If I remember correctly, there was a Shot Spotter notification within about 5 minutes of the incident a few miles away (or more?). The trajectory the bullet(s) would have had to travel makes it ridiculous to think it’d hit more than one person. And if it were multiple shots, it’s just as ridiculous to think they’d land in such close proximity to each other. I don’t doubt for a second that a report would be issued that would be politically and economically convenient. It’s disappointing though.

Haha that is exactly my luck.

Almost assuredly gang-related. And I’d bet money the shooters are underage. You’d be surprised how often these “kids” are responsible for multiple dead bodies. Sometimes not even in high school yet. They’ll shoot into a massive crowd going after one or two targets in it. Zero hesitation or remorse. -
Went to my first game since before the pandemic. That was…not easy to watch.

Oh man, I had so many songs I could never figure out the name of or who sang them. Just knew the beat and a snippet of lyrics here and there. It was impossible to track down, usually classic rock or oldies songs that weren’t played often. But then one day you’d catch it on the radio at the right time and get the artist and title.

Absolutely f*** the Bears, too. I wanted to see someone like Detroit or Buffalo in there. -

The dominance is why people root against them. I respect how good they are, but f*** them. I wanna see new teams win it. -

Not a ton of discussion. Is everyone else as blah about this matchup as me? -

Another year, another Super Bowl where I don’t want either team to win.
