  1. Oh man, I can already see the Chiefs getting a game-changing call in the closing seconds to win it. There will be conspiracy theories that the NFL had the fix in to ensure they have the opportunity to play up the Taylor Swift Super Bowl. Worst part is that I’ll believe it.
  2. I think 250 would have gotten him in on the regular ballot. The future “lock” number for starters will be closer to 250 than 300.
  3. This was my mindset as well. As soon as they went for the end zone on that first down from about the 20 yard line, I knew they were going to blow the game.
  4. I think Sheffield should be in. I believe there are automatic numbers that get you in (unless steroids were involved), and one of them is 500 homers. Unless Sheffield had steroid connections, which I no longer remember. Beltre is a slam dunk first ballot guy. Helton, Mauer, and Wagner are definitely hall of famers. I’m just not sure that Mauer is a first ballot guy.
  5. Iguchi is spelled correctly. What am I missing?
  6. I saw something that said any time before midnight eastern time. Not sure how valid that is, though. Mahomes?
  7. Just let us know if they plan on releasing another plague.
  8. Predicting what would absolutely happen, yes lol. There has to be forgiveness. That’s just human nature. If you feel bad and apologize, and the response is only punishment, people will stop apologizing.
  9. I’ll repeat the last part of my post you responded to: And are we pretending that, should word get out that he’s being considered for the job, LGBTQIA+ organizations wouldn’t put pressure on the team to stop it? Because they absolutely would.
  10. I knew nothing about this whole situation before this thread. Never even saw the meme people are mentioning. I don’t know if the bold statement is correct, but if it is and there’s no forgiveness or future opportunities after attempts to make amends, then there’s never any point in apologizing.
  11. There are people in this very thread threatening not to watch if he’s hired. How is that not campaigning to keep him from being hired? I’m not even arguing that it’s people’s right to pressure an organization not to hire him. They absolutely can do that, and they may even be correct in doing so, but it’s still campaigning to keep him out. And are we pretending that, should word get out that he’s being considered for the job, LGBTQIA+ organizations wouldn’t put pressure on the team to stop it? Because they absolutely would.
  12. Clearly there are. It can be both.
  13. Hey, he’d be correct for a large portion ? LOL persecute, a bit dramatic.
  14. Hahaha. I didn’t care before, but now I want him hired to see people like this go insane.
  15. Jerry Reinsdorf, the McCaskeys, and Bill Wirtz were the owners of 80% of the teams in Chicago at one point. You could make a very good argument that any one of them would be on the Mount Rushmore of terrible owners in professional sports history. Then you can throw in past owners like Charles Comiskey. Don’t pretend Chicago fans don’t have it bad.
  16. That’s pretty much where I think it’d go. And as a fan of a perennial loser franchise, I’d be warier of trading away the pick the more other teams are willing to give up for it. At some point, you have to wonder if everyone else is a fool for wanting to get a certain guy (likely Williams), or you’re the fool to give him away when you have the pick guaranteed.
  17. LOL only the Bears would keep the main actors together while trading away the top pick in consecutive years, so I’m sure that’s what will happen. And now I know that Williams and/or Maye will be a generational QB if the Bears miss out on them.
  18. Possibly my favorite actor. This sucks.
  19. And they managed to end up with another Hall of Famer. Yet the Bears can’t find one truly good QB.
  20. He’d be a shoo-in if he stuck around a few more years, which he easily could have. He made his choice (which I admire) to leave the game early and focus on other things. The only way he’ll get in would be the player votes, whatever they call it.
  21. This is a franchise that has actually gone from winning the World Series to being one of the worst teams in baseball within two years. So, it’s not exactly surprising. I had to read that twice because I was sure his last name was Cabrera ?
  22. The Chiefs are used to getting the old Patriots treatment. At least one blatant BS call a game in their favor that leads to a win. I understand why they’re surprised.
  23. I think it’s pretty clear that you killed this guy by making this thread.
  24. Yes. Hard to even pretend that he doesn’t hate us anymore. This. At this point, I agree. Nobody. I would join the majority of Americans that just don’t care about baseball anymore.
