As bad as the Central is and has been, the Sox and Royals have won a World Series in recent memory (KC getting to the WS twice). The Tigers (twice) and Guardians have been to the WS. And you have the Twins getting to the playoffs ten times since 2002. They advanced past the first round just twice. Has to suck to be a fan of that team.

In my mind, absolutely. But this would make it unarguable.

On the other hand, if they win it, Bochy has to then be considered one of the greatest managers of all time, right?

For sure, but I don’t think many teams had a Manning or Brady. Those are best of all time contenders, so every team would want them. But yes, the Bears take it to an extreme by almost never having anything better than a league average QB. Completely agree on your draft statements. Regarding Cutler, maybe my memory is way off, but you think he wasn’t even a top 15 QB? Off the top of my head, I would think he was a top 10 for at least a few years on the Bears. Certainly not the best, but better than most. But I honestly can’t recall most of the starting QBs from that timeframe. -
You gotta kind of admire it, to be one of those people who doesn’t give a s%*# what you think. But maybe it’s also a bit sociopathic.

Spoiled in comparison to everything they had before and since. He’s the best they’ve had by a wide margin. The issue for the Bears, as with the Sox, is that they have arguably the worst owner in the sport. Nothing changes until that does. They’ll trip over a good season here and there, but that’s the best you’ll get. -
Is there any proof of this whatsoever? Or is it possible that the historically cheap owner of the Marlins is being cheap again by not offering an extension when there’s still one more year left of a contract?

Valid points all around. Let’s just hope Williams or Maye turn out better for us than literally everything before them haha. -

Not sure if you’re referring to Cutler, but I would say it wasn’t him that was preventing the Bears from winning a Super Bowl. Much worse quarterbacks than Cutler have won it all. -
At least Arizona is making a game of this. Through the first five innings, I was ready to write off the entire series.

I see his point regarding Cutler/Manning. The team had the best QB in the team’s modern history, but the fans wanted better. How spoiled we were at the time and didn’t realize it. Everyone would want Mahomes when they have Trubisky. -

Before this game, the Bears had just come off of one and a half good games. And listening to sports radio last week was infuriating. Callers constantly talking about how the Bears are back in contention, they could win the next 7 straight, Fields is the QB of the future again, etc. I’m glad they’ll have to shut up again. Blindly loyal fans aggravate the hell out of me. I’ve come to realize that Bears fans are basically Cubs fans when winter rolls around, even the ones who root for the Sox. -
Win two more games, Rangers. Then I’ll be ok with any World Series winner.
-
I think the lowest would easily be Arizona-Texas. Houston would draw plenty of fans rooting against them.

I don’t see what the big deal was. He even stuck his tongue out and did the neener neener thing with his hands. He was clearly being playful with an antagonistic crowd. Everyone has their phones out looking for the next gotcha.

Uh oh. The replay didn’t look bad, but Harper’s reaction did.
-
Not a fan of the city of Philadelphia or its fans, and Bryce Harper always seemed like a douchebag to me. Yet I’m somehow rooting for them and I don’t know why.
-
Can they use steroids with impunity again? Because I feel like Kapler possibly just maybe dabbled in them on occasion.

Haha, there’s no theoretical topic that Balta won’t take a contrarian view on.

I was explaining what the other poster was alluding to, as it was obvious what group he meant. I haven’t looked into them, as they’re clearly freak shows and provocateurs. And no, in case it’s necessary, I don’t draw a connection between all LGBTQIA2S+ groups and satanism. Apologies if I missed a letter or two.
-
Are we saying there’s no difference between paying for ads and inviting groups in to celebrate them?
-
I just said they’re a bunch of freaks trying to be controversial. It’s a true statement.
-
No way I’m counting 2020 as a real achievement. Not for World Series, not for Division Titles, not for MVP…

Where’s that picture from? A bunch of freaks who purposely try to be controversial. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/dodgers-pride-night-timeline-club-re-invites-sisters-of-perpetual-indulgence-to-lgbtq-celebration/amp/

Our cable is actually not even our ISP, because the internet they can provide is insanely slow for being in the city. So we have two separate providers for cable and internet. It’s ridiculous.
