  1. Who’s really telling us everything will be fine? Other than the FO, it seems that even the broadcasters (pregame and postgame) are down on the team.
  2. I’m pretty proud of the fan base right now. I can’t remember a time when everyone was on the same page with regards to the present and future of the team.
  3. The shrimp are pretty good. I know a few people that say it’s the best thing on their menu. I wouldn’t go that far though.
  4. Is there no game thread today? Yikes.
  5. Yeah, I wouldn’t be worried about that. It’s not like China is known for human rights abuses or cracking down on dissent. I’m sure they’ll give you access to your money if you step out of line in the slightest.
  6. How many weeks do we need to wait? You sound like 1978 Philadelphia Flyers GM Keith Allen.
  7. If my math is right, they’ve lost 24 of those 37 games. So he’s not much help anyway.
  8. Maybe, but only until the ink dries on his new contract.
  9. Without getting into the various ways Covid was used to push through changes that would’ve otherwise been unpopular, I’m sure that the cashless system greatly benefits the owners while hurting the individual vendor.
  10. I tried replying to your post in yesterday’s game thread, but the thread was moved while I was typing haha. Regarding your statement about the 300 level: I completely agree with this. The first time I sat in the 300 level was about 15 years ago. I got them from someone on Soxtalk (can’t remember who, but thanks again if you’re reading!). I’ve gone back there once every couple of years, and it has taken a noticeable downturn. The food used to be much better and more varied than the 100 level. Now it’s just the same old crap. And there’s, I believe, only two full open stands on the entire level. The carpet and seating seem ratty. It’s just a huge disappointment.
  11. Yes, and now the people who depended on cash tips are SOL. The government knows how much you get in tips, as well as the owners likely taking a percentage. And I’m sure the amount of stolen cards being used is not insignificant.
  12. You’re probably right. It was annoying listening to local sports radio constantly give Eberflus and Poles handjobs over the off-season. Everything was about how stern and respected Eberflus is, and Poles was a shrewd genius getting over on the other GMs. My expectations were for the same amount of wins you mentioned, but a couple of quarters dispelled those and now I’m uninterested for the remainder of the season.
  13. For me, it’s more of an excuse to go out. I get my enjoyment at laughing at the ways they find to lose.
  14. If people have been fans of Chicago sports for any amount of time, they should know to expect disappointment. Not sure why it doesn’t sink in with the majority of fans.
  15. I hate the Bears as much as I like them, but what were people expecting to happen in one offseason? They were the worst team in football last year.
  16. I don’t get it though. Is there an issue with someone of his background having that position?
  17. Man, you have certainly chosen your hill haha. What?
  18. Yes, oversight from corrupt city politicians and bureaucrats will solve things and in no way lead to loss of more money.
  19. I know they’ve lost a lot of vendors in the last few years. The move to cashless payments really screwed them. I try to bring as many singles as I can when I go to games for tips because a lot of people won’t tip at all when swiping. The lack of traffic on this site is kinda depressing. Can’t even wallow in our own misery together.
  20. Mine are skewed after the last few years. I answered 1-5 for both questions. Years ago, I would have answered 10-plus. The last few years, I’ve averaged probably 2 a year. I went to one game this year and cancelled plans for the second game after they promoted Getz.
  21. I definitely know him, though he was before my time. I just thought the post I was quoting was regarding strictly players under JR.
  22. Wasn’t he off the Sox long before JR became the owner?
