  1. It’s good for pinpointing pretty exact times/scenes of shootings and locating casings. Helpful in that it speeds that process up, but worth the cost? I dunno. It’s reactionary, not really preventative.
  2. He’s talking about an old incident which I never even heard of. I believe the Robert Taylor homes were there when OLD Comiskey was around. But thanks for the smartass response. Greg said “Remember the old story true or not about a bullet from Cabrini Green hitting a seat at old Comiskey?”
  3. Definitely possible, but I was only speculating from what I know. A falling bullet could cause the kind of damage listed, but the only thing is that it’s unlikely to have injured more than one person. But again, the descriptions are still so vague that it’s hard to draw conclusions. Maybe one person was hit and the other two injured themselves reacting to the first person being hit? A lot of possibilities.
  4. I did not watch the game, but I just saw in the game thread that Eloy homered. Did anyone else on the Sox? Which innings and to which parts of the outfield?
  5. I don’t intend to give a lesson on how to circumvent a metal detector haha. But I will say that they are not foolproof and a lot depends on the quality of the person doing the job. Many people, some with good intentions and some with bad, will carry their gun everywhere they go.
  6. Again, not all gunshots look the same depending on a lot of variables including the caliber and location of gunshot. I’m guessing this one was probably smaller caliber. Could easily be that this person more or less grazed themselves (and possibly through and through). Maybe on the foot or hand. That could be covered up or even appear to a person they walk by to be a more minor injury like a cut from glass or a fist fight. The other injured people could be from a shard of the ricochet bullet or concrete. Look, I’m gonna tell you something you probably don’t want to hear. But that likely wasn’t even close to the only gun in that stadium.
  7. Guys, not all gunshots sound exactly like you would think. If something loud was happening at the time, it could go mostly undetected. You might hear it and think it was any number of things and not bat an eye. As mentioned above by Boone, my bet is a negligent discharge and someone got themselves and someone near them.
  8. And likely wouldn’t have become the guy he is now if he stayed.
  9. Too long have we sat in the shadows. Please release us.
  10. You have an example for every random statement. Seriously, I’m impressed.
  11. Exactly. He sucked at his job. No thank you. I heard that interview on the Score as well. The hosts didn’t seem to believe it and neither do I.
  12. Fun to stir to pot. That didn’t come up until later in the conversation. Without looking further into it, that is definitely inexcusable s%*#. At first, it was about the porn stuff.
  13. Sure. Morality clause is a pretty big deal in baseball. I wouldn’t do it myself, but I don’t care that someone else did.
  14. I’d argue that’s not specific to his religion. That’s an actual morality issue. Coming from someone who’s watched his share of it, it’s without a doubt immoral.
  15. Exactly. It’s something for wealthy white people to point at and say, “See, I’m not racist!” It’s all fake morality. I don’t care and I believe most really don’t but won’t say it.
  16. I guess I just don’t give a s%*# haha. Baseball has gotta be 90%+ Christian, probably much closer to 100% with the exception of Japanese/Korean players and the best of those guys aren’t coming via the draft. I also don’t think it should be required to interview a minority candidate just because. And the NFL rule seems to include a necessity to interview a woman. That’s hilarious. These are my opinions on things. I don’t care what any of you think of it.
  17. I’m just sick of the fake morality people like to flaunt when they like a player vs when they don’t. I could not care less about Moore and I certainly don’t want him hired, but I base that on his record, not because he’s a Bible thumper.
  18. Listen here. We don’t want to try to better our players. But we also want to complain when they beat their wives and knock up their side pieces. What is so hard to understand?
  19. Don Mattingly’s son, correct? So he was born into it and this would be a form of nepotism. He also appears to be white and is likely a Christian. Soxtalk will take a hard pass on this guy, if this thread is any indication haha.
  20. Wait, it’d be Moore UNDER Getz? Haha wtf? What in the world has Getz done to be handed complete control? Moore has at least had some success, so it made the slightest bit of sense that he’d be Vice President with Getz as GM. The other way around makes no sense at all.
