QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:16 AM) Maybe ptatc can tell us if it'd be smart to shut him down. I'm at the point I'd consider it even though it's tough to just put a pitcher on hold cause his team stinks. I feel so sorry for Sale. It's impossible to go 1-8 with an ERA like that. Clearly it isn't.

I don't even know who Loki is. -
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) Reminds me of Ripkin over Mags I thought the exact same thing, but who cares? Rivera is a classy guy, and that send off was great.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) That was his nickname. You can google it. If you look at his baseball cards from that time, 1988-1989, you'll understand why. He was thin and wiry, and had one of the best arms in baseball and was a superior defender with erratic power. Like a panther.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:10 AM) But that's not the purpose of this thread. It is to blast Sox management for a horrible, horrible decision to go with Flowers, not to perpetuate the AJ legend. Hearing the ESPN announcers praise AJ and looking at his stats brought this to the surface. It pissed me off thinking of Flowers/all these unnecessary losses. Fine. Don't even mention AJ. How bout a replacement for AJ that can, uh, actually catch the ball and hit the ball. No, I don't like the TWTW crap. The Blackhawks showed tonight they have the will to win, actually showing some heart and finishing off an opponent. Yet I'd rather call it 'heart' than a stupid line like TWTW. I don't think this topic has come up at all. I wanted to mention it because it dawned on me after watching Sunday Night baseball this was a management gaffe of HUGE proportions. I don't need to live in the past for championship fever, thanks to the Blackhawks. Love those guys for winning a second Cup in the last few years!!! Yeah, it's nice to see a Chicago team win it all/get within reach, and then not immediately fade into obscurity.

Safe to say, this thread wouldn't exist if AJ weren't a player on the 2005 team.

I liked Man Of Steel, and I've never liked a Superman movie. In fact, I've actively hated the franchise and character.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) Their centerfielder was an obvious PED user, and their backup IF would later fail a test. Wasn't Rowand bad offensively that year? He might have been off of them in 2005. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2013 -> 08:32 AM) No offense...but if I were watching that happen, I'd be calling the police on you. You could call, but he'd be perfectly within his rights as long as he felt in danger and was legally able to carry.

Aw, thanks guys!

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2013 -> 03:04 PM) ND just increased their punishments. It's like $1,000 fine, lost license for 6 months, plus 48 hours in jail, as well as classes that are required that must be paid by the person. From that, you are looking at approximately $1,500-$2,000. Then considering that your insurance rates are going to atleast double, and you are adding another $1,200-$1,800 per year. The fines should be enormous. The person who was caught drunk driving could just as easily have killed someone if not caught. The LACK of outrage in regards to DUI in this country is appalling.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) You are talking about one beer for an average female, and two for an average male. Honestly I believe that we have turned this from a safety issue to a revenue issue in the law enforcement sector. No, it's a safety issue. It should be as low as they could possibly make it. Zero tolerance, even.

QUOTE (qwerty @ May 9, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) Anyone else looking forward to The World's End? The last film of Edgar Wright's trilogy with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. This movie is about a bar crawl. Along with so much more. I have been waiting for this one for a couple years now. Seek it out. Caulfield have you seen Dead Man's Shoes with Paddy Considine? Lesser known to many, but he is a damn fine actor. He collaborates with Shane Meadows often... you may know of This Is England. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419677/reference Been looking forward to that as well.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 9, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) Or I did because the cop told me I did. But hey, you're right, because you know you were there and all. He's right about when nystagmus sets in.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) I wouldn't be so sure about Thomas Jane, he was actually given praise for his depiction of Frank Castle. I think Cage worked his way out of any comic book movie for the rest of his life. He just is too corny anymore Loved that Punisher.

While watching Iron Man 3, especially during the part where he asks himself what he's going to do, did anyone else think "just call Hulk or Captain America"?

QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 6, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) i always thought they were easy to prosecute. shows what i know. You'd think they would be.

And of course, sorry for your loss, Tex.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 5, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) The leniency of DUI laws in America is ridiculous. It's ABSURD. And to successfully convict someone of DUI is unbelievably difficult. The most mundane details get cases thrown out regularly. It's why every department has only a handful of "DUI" guys.

I was basically agreeing haha.

Millions of different personalities, shack. Some definitely leave something to be desired.

Never saw the twist coming in Iron Man 3.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:22 AM) If you have seen the video from the recent Reese Witherspoon arrest, it's amazing the cop kept his patience and cool the entire time. Haven't seen it and don't plan to, but the officer in that situation was most likely walking on eggshells because she's famous. Like I said, the general public is incredibly ignorant and anything that looks even remotely wrong would get tons of air time because it's loveable Reese Witherspoon getting harassed by a power-tripping pig.
