  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Nah, I'll safely assume that the NCAA does not give one s*** what a coach's wife/family thinks before handing down sanctions for improper behavior. The answer is yes* they did not interview them, the reason is because it doesn't matter what Joe's wife or his son think. Their input into sanctions on PSU football would be useless. They do not have additional facts or information relevant to the NCAA's decision that the NCAA would not have already had from independent and internal investigations. I can't figure out what's difficult to understand about all of this.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Oh Im sorry the NCAA doesnt have rules it has to follow. Go back to your summary executions! Your bias clouds your arguments. Does it? Are there rules saying that they can't do this? I'm betting that there aren't.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) I dont know, how would I know unless they are given the chance to present their evidence. Even a criminal at a sentencing hearing can have his family testify about why he is a good person and doesnt deserve to go to jail for X years. This has nothing to do with the legal process. Could you drop the sleazy defense attorney schtick for 5 minutes?
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) An investigation is not equal to a trial. This is the only part of your post that needs a response. And here it is. This isn't a trial. There will never be a trial for Paterno. This is a sanction from an entity completely unrelated to the legal process. Period. May Paterno rot in hell.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) Why would the family of an accused want to have a fair trial, hearing or have their day in the sun? I dont know, but Im sure you can figure it out. LOLZ They had an impartial party investigate.
  6. I hope Satan broke the news about the loss of the record to Paterno while ramming his pitchfork repeatedly up JoePa's ass.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) Oh okay. People would have still freaked out if they had seen the weapon, though. I had the badge showing prominently and made sure the gun was invisible as possible. I'm not an idiot haha.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) Here's the Paterno statement before they make it, they would like to remind you that these sanctions "do not serve the victims of Jerry Sandusky's horrible crimes or help heal the Penn State community." BTW, way to kick Paterno and family with the vacated wins just for good measure. Good for them. Exactly. I love it.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) Do you not realize that they could have Patriot Act-ed your ass for that? I can carry pretty much wherever I want, especially in Illinois.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) Pretty sure milk was kidding about bringing a gun to a movie. lol. No, but I probably should have clarified that I'm a cop first
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) You normally bring a gun with to the movies? I carry off duty when I feel like it might be necessary. It didn't seem like a big to-do to wear it to ease other people's minds a day after a tragic shooting.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) You cant live in fear. Bad things happen, one day will be my day, but random s*** is going to happen. Exactly. I went to the movie on Friday night, brought my gun, and sat right by the entrance. Not that I thought anything would happen, but you can't let things like this change the way you live.
  13. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) Its hard for any guy in that range to not know about Spiderman and X-Men. Before I even knew all about Thor I could remember him from that movie Adventures in Babysitting. Iron Man I think would at least be known by most people, even if you didn't know that much about him. Even with Thor, hes not just a Marvel thing. Some people could know who Thor is without even knowing he has anything to do with comics. That's what he's saying. I'd heard about all of them, but (Thor especially) I had no idea what their origins were.
  14. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) I think most guys in the 18-35 or whatever the main target age group all know SpiderMan and X-Men from watching cartoons as kids at the very least and knew about Captain America. Iron Man and Thor I don't think the casual fan knew their storyline but have heard about them. Very true for me. I'd make one change, and it's that I didn't know Captain America's storyline either.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 08:50 AM) Could have left out Catwoman but Anne Hathaway NEEDED to be there. Catwoman pissed me off. But the only reason for that is because I was angry that someone out there actually gets to bang Anne Hathaway. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:22 AM) I'm not sure how everyone had trouble understanding him, I didn't have a problem whatsoever.... Same here. Maybe a line or two.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 09:42 AM)
  17. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 12:39 AM) Just got back from The Dark Knight Rises, it was easily the WORST movie of the three.. I am so f***ing pissed off at how it ended. Awful. I am so disappointed its not even funny. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, you seem to be one of those people who can't be pleased no matter what.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) I am very good at keeping perspective on movies. The Dark Knight Rises very well might be the best movie I have ever seen. It's sheer scale makes TDK look like child's play. I have no idea how anyone could complain about that movie. It was absolute perfection; and that's from a Bat-Fanatic. Dude, you really aren't I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but you consider every other TV show the "best" at any given moment. This movie, while awesome, isn't on par with the other two. Still awesome.
  19. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) TDK was MUCH better, IMHO. Although Joker obviously wasn't gonna be topped, I liked Bane. TDKR feels a bit too forced a lot of times, though. And yeah, I wasn't expecting the ending and appreciate a good twist, BUT Alfred basically reciting the ben affleck speech in good will hunting at the end kinda irked me. I mean, really??! As for Bane's voice, I think it's BADASS. I am currently working on it as we speak, and doing a horrible job at it, but it still feels pretty cool to recite some of the badass stuff he says The Batman voice has been ridiculous since day 1... And I will be seeking the medical expertise from prisoners in remote holes in case of a serious spinal injury... I pretty much agree with this assessment. It wasn't the best one, but I really liked it. I also liked Bane's voice. The one quote was pretty good when he first fought Batman. Something like (not sure if I even need spoilers),
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 06:11 AM) Every once in a while, the slew of Hawk rants or the perception of umpire bias against us causes the Stockholm Syndrome to set in. We actually start sympathizing with Harrelson and believing there is an umpiring conspiracy against us and that because he loses it pretty frequently with the umpires, that the majority are pretty bad at their job. Well, it's about 75% complaining and 25% praising, which is human nature one would suppose. Or the more likely reason, Hawk is a f***ing hack.
  21. QUOTE (Indy_Soxer @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) hahaha because of the _ ? And the "oxer" and the fact that it's the same length. It's a combination of things.
  22. AND Mark Margolis (Hector Salamanca) was nominated for Guest Actor in a Drama Series. I feel incredibly happy for those two guys, and I truly hope both win.
  23. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) Emmy nominations are out: http://tv.yahoo.com/news/2012-primetime-emmy-nominees.html YES! Giancarlo Esposito nominated for supporting actor in Breaking Bad. He truly deserves it. Peter Dinklage or Aaron Paul will probably win, though. Also glad to see that Jared Harris was nominated.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) This is what i don't get. Who are these 2 or 3 people you're talking about? What exactly is a troll? mcgrad flat out admitted that he was a troll. and thankfully he's gone. Is having a different opinion than the majority considered a troll? I'm not a troll. I've made some predictions that turned out to be wrong and i admitted that. I've said other teams are better than the bulls/sox. That's not being a troll. greg, as annoying as he is, is not a troll. He loves ozzie. That doesn't make him a troll. annoying? yes. But not a troll. I'm starting to think that unless i kiss chicago teams ass that i'm going to get suspended. That the guy who brought up JR no matter the discussion? If not, that person is also a troll.
  25. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) watching mlb network, they were showing the royals/mariners game. the royals threw the ball home and the ump called the runner out, he was safe by a lot and he was right there. its incredible how bad refs and umps have been That's bulls***, IMO. For how much umpires are expected to do and see, they do an incredible job at the major league level.
