QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 31, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) But we also have Ramirez, DeAza, Escobar, Viciedo, Santiago and Rios, 6 players with Hispanic origins. Plus, we've got Fukudome now. That's right around the average now in baseball, 6-9 Latin Americans per team. Two of our better prospects in Mitchell and Trayce Thompson are African-American. There have also been a few times in the last 20 years when the White Sox (I think) started an all-black/Hispanic team. That's it?

Congratulations, guy I never heard of. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 31, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) He was drafted by the Sox years ago. He's always had good stuff, but throwing strikes has been his problem. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=jones-001nat Fun fact: He was born the same day the space shuttle blew up. Fun!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) You guys are so out of the Soxtalk patio party after I win the lottery tonight. Milkman too. Hey!

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) The Orange County Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim look very, very scary this year. Are they all black men wearing hooded sweatshirts?!

QUOTE (gatnom @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) If I had $12.5 million for every time I invested $2, I'd be a rich man.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) Brian McTaggart @brianmctaggart Astros announced that they have released right-hander Livan Hernandez You gotta give the guy credit. Despite his age and lack of anything, he keeps sticking around. Pretty impressive for a guy that was born a pauper to a pawn.

It's White Sox baseball, so I'll be watching. Simple as that. Since I have no expectations, it should be a pretty enjoyable season no matter what. Sort of strange.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) I am a little bit worried about Danks in that first game. First opening day start and playing against his ex-team. Hope that I am wrong. Win that first game and we can win that series. I don't think Danks pitched even one inning for the Rangers. It's tough to say that having been in their minors will add any pressure to the game.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Flatt & Scruggs had a big hit and achieved mass popularity with "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" from the Bonnie & Clyde movie. I suggest everyone take a minute or two to listen to this: I don't know how to embed a video on here, for some reason. You'd think I'd have learned to do it by now after almost 7 years.

Unless that thing in his tank is "more steroids", no. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) Hawk Harrelson @NotHawk Looks like Aaron Rowand's playing career has run into a wall. Fantastic.

From the sounds of it, this CT guy is the San Jose Sharks of whatever show it is you guys watch. Always a favorite, never bringing it home.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 12:24 AM) I thought Cowley and Peavy were feuding not so long ago about the internecine warfare in the clubhouse the last 4-6 weeks of the season, and Cowley claiming that Ozzie said Peavy basically quit on him (conveniently omitting the fact that Ozzie quit on the White Sox franchise, its fans and Reinsdorf). There's absolutely ZERO way in h e double hockey sticks that Cowley got any of these quotes from Peavy recently. It's like one of those doctored political ads where they take single words or phrases from past speeches and quotes and change it into something altogether different for dramatic effect. Ridiculous. No matter the topic, I always have to look up something from your posts because I have no idea what it is. Today it's that word, yesterday it was Fuzzy Zoeller. -

Oh, forget all of this then

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 28, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) I was just as confused as you. I did look it up, and he did start on 4/20 in 2007, 2008, & 2010. So it'll be 4 out of 6 years. That's cool. Thanks.

QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) "Danks" describes good weed, I think, and April 20th (4/20) is like "National Pot Smokers Day". I understand what dank is, but the post I replied to seemed to be saying that he also seriously pitched almost every April 20th. That would have been really cool, but I hadn't heard anything like it before.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) Patrick Stewart doing a Russian accent would either be the greatest or the worst thing ever. He's a classically-trained actor. I'm sure he'd do a great job.
