  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) Fine, you said we're getting dominated. It's a tie game. And so what, it's three friggin innings. Give me a f***ing break. OK, sorry. The offense is getting dominated so far by their crappy pitcher, their crappy pitcher is not dominating our pitching.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Am I missing something? It's 0-0, right? Yes, but the offense looks bad so far.
  3. Eh, getting dominated by another scrub. What the hell...
  4. And we waste the runners on 1st and 2nd, no out opportunity. Who's the announcer with Joe "I'm a know-nothing asshole" Morgan?
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Time for the Contreras meltdown. He got out of it. I just hope he gets the first guy out every inning, otherwise he gets too scared.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) Again ... this team has holes. They need a deeper bench and they need another bullpen arm, or at the very least they need to figure out what they're going to do with Shingo. If anyone is traded, look for it to be prospects, or a shakeup of the bench players. Those of you holding your breath waiting for a Crede trade, my personal opinion is, I suggest you inhale and exhale. This has the makings of a special year, they are not going to screw with the chemistry. Yeah, I've given up on the idea of getting rid of Crede. I'd be all for it, and I'll still dream of getting Chavez, but I don't think it'll happen. I'd definitely like to see a change or two in the bullpen, and maybe a bench player.
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Just a note on Crede -- not that I'm a huge fan of his, but... Crede's OPS - .730. Vinny Castilla's OPS - .739. Where have all the Castilla fans gone? I haven't been here very long, but who are all these Castilla fans? I've only seen one guy constantly bringing him up.
  8. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) I don't think this team needs a Robin Ventura right now. We have guys that can provide power. What this team needs is a Herbert Perry. Can you imagine what this chemistry-based, clutch-driven team would be like if we had the 2000 version of the Milkman out there? Good god, we'd be unstoppable. I say this in all heterosexuality, but I now you for saying that.
  9. I just read all 5 pages of this, and I can now honestly say that my head hurts.
  10. Well, let's just put it this way. If he does win one this year, he'll win at least 8 in the next 10 years. That's how it works.
  11. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Sox are currently 7 games up. That hasn't happened since 2000. Enjoy it while it lasts; Contreras pitches tonight, so it'll be back to 6.5 by about 9 PM. I don't know why you'd say that. Contreras has been good this year so far.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) No to the first question and most likely to the second. Thanks. I think it's about time for McCarthy to step it up against a team like the Royals. They've been better recently, but I'm not sure they've been playing any good teams, just like the Indians.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) The most beautiful thing I saw all weekend, besides AJ's homer, was Crede going to right field twice last night. Those were two of the most unintentional opposite field hits I've ever seen. The pitch just seemed the hit the bat in the right place and shot into right field, while Crede was still trying to pull.
  14. I'm not really sure how it works when calling up a guy multiple times. Does he lose options when this happens? And are we just going to put Duque on the DL once a month? I have no problem with this, just looks like that might be happening.
  15. A little OT, but is there a way we can make the Soxtalk banner be the walk-off celebration from last night?
  16. I have a really good feeling about this game, but don't expect that to carry over into the game thread
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) Yeah this was a great win, but look at the August schedule. All of these are must win games right now. Talk to me on Labor Day. That August schedule is just a chance to prove that we're better than the best teams.
  18. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:37 AM) Weaver loves to throw at Sox hitters. He was involved in the 2000 brawl with the Tigers. With a national TV audience and the Dodgers in a funk, this game could be entertaining. I'm condident that our guys can kick some ass and play some baseball. We have some beasts on this team, and a whole helluva lot a heart. We won't back down.
  19. Great post, Jim. Everett's a crazy-ass competitor...and I mean crazy in more ways than one. You just gotta love the guy. I stand by my assessment that Everett has been just as good as Dye in RF, if not better this year. Didn't Everett, Rowand, and AJ all get their hits with 2 strikes and 2 outs? That's just insane.
  20. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) Widger is fine. I woudnt care if he started. I'd much rather have AJ catch Contreras. And I mean much.
  21. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Cameron is having a very good year so fa. for the amount of time hes played That limited amount of playing time is what I think is causing the good stats. I'm sure he'll revert back to his old self with more at-bats.
  22. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Nobody's debating that fact but they looked like total ass for 8 innings tonight and Garcia being thrown out there in the 8th was abominable. ^What he said. Plus, some of us are just normally pessimistic. There are fans of every team that are like that, and there are fans that are normally optimistic. They're all fans, though. People are raised and/or grow differently as fans. Anyway, And what the hell,
