  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Hang in there. We'll get 'em. Well, it seems that Freddy has gotten into a groove and hopefully he'll keep it going for as long as he can. I just hope the offense doesn't all start swinging for homeruns, but they will probably do that this inning with Uribe and Crede coming up.
  2. On a good note, you-know-who is down 3-1 through 2 innings.
  3. This game's looking familiar. s***ty pitcher, offense going down 1-2-3, lots of walks for other team.
  4. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Konerko will hit a game winning HR A little early for that, eh?
  5. God, I hope Freddy just got into a groove. With 54 pitches through 2 IP, I still expect to the bullpen to get a lot of work even if he's in a groove.
  6. AJP throws out a runner, thankfully. And a little pop up.
  7. And the crappy pitcher with a whole 9 IP as a starter has no trouble in his first inning. This is looking great, just great.
  8. Terrible inning there, and the crowd is obviously not happy. I liked that little Bronx cheer, let Freddy know he's being a dumbass out there.
  9. Great, another walk. He looks like absolute s***. I already wanna turn this one off...but I won't.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) He's improving guys, Last 2 times out he gave up 3-run HRs in the first... This inning isn't over.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Freddy doesn't even look like he is trying hard out there. You can say that again. And he walks Choi.
  12. Aaaaaaand Freddy starts this game off right. He must have given up 75% of his runs in the first inning, I swear.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) 26-Jul-01: Chicago White Sox traded James Baldwin to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Onan Masaoka, Gary Majewski and Jeff Barry. He was making $5.95 mil We had Gary Majewski? How'd we lose him...the Everett deal? I'd like to have him right about now.
  14. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) I am well aware that we have blown it before. If the playoffs started tommorrow, what would you do? It really depends on how each starter is performing at that time. If this were the end of the season right now, I'd put El Duque in the pen because he's been the worst recently.
  15. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) I know there's a long way to go before the playoffs and anything can happen, but if the Sox make the playoffs, who do you have as a 4th starter and who do you move to the pen- El Duque or Contreras? I like Contreras starting and El Duque in the pen. Even though El Duque has come up huge in playoff starts, I think Contreras is better suited to start. I like El Duque's makeup better to come in with men on and a 1 run lead better than Contreras. El Duque has had to battle basically every inning he has thrown this year because at this point he throws all junk. I think we shouldn't even be thinking about this yet. We've blown it the last few years, and we certainly aren't locks for the playoffs. Secondly, we should decide who starts and who goes to the pen by how each starter is performing when the playoffs roll around. If both of those guys are rolling, it should be another starter that goes to the pen.
  16. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Maddux basically has the right to say whatever he wants. His career trumps Buehrle's with so much leverage it's not even funny. The problem is that Buehrle was NOT talking about Maddux. Buehrle is speaking from his own "years of experience". The media twisted it by saying the pitcher he was talking about has had many great "years of experience". I don't know how many of you caught the post game press conference with Mark but he basically came out and said it was Zambrano. Still, my respect for Maddux is now out the window. He said something stupid and arrogant, and he never struck me as that before. Screw him, I hope he continues his awful season and eventually his arm falls off.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) Boy you can say one thing for the White Sox team, they love to talk. Geesh, somebody get these guys a media relations course... (looking at you 49ers) No, I like this attitude they have. They're becoming the Oakland Raiders of baseball. We say what we want and we're a little crazy.
  18. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) just the 4 divison winners would make the playoffs just like in the past.. It would make the season worth something The season's not worth anything? Now I think I'm lost.
  19. Don't pay attention to this garbage article. This s***ty writer left out key parts that need to be in there. He's just trying to sell more papers. And I just wanted to add, I no longer like Greg Maddux after what he said. I guess anyone on the Cubs automatically becomes a huge asshole.
  20. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Heard it on ESPN radio 1000 updates that the yanks are one of the 3 teams looking at Mike Cameron. Any news on who the other 2 teams are? I mean, it makes sense. Cameron is an overpaid, overhyped player. He certainly belongs on the Yankees.
  21. Damn it! And no, Politte can't close. He's said it himself.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) So if we insert Frank Thomas there and this whole team instead of an individual player, like Frank said last week, why does everyone jump to Franks defense? That is the part that makes no sense to me. Maybe the board didn't make a big deal about it, but I said he shouldn't have said it.
