1 out, runners on 1st and 2nd. Hey Freddy, if you want to win, don't give up any runs. That's your only chance. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Well Ozzie has to get his girlfriend in the game. This offense will get shut out today. No gooch, no arow and no dye. Nice focking lineup Ozzie, we we cant win every series with Sunday Manuel lineups. Well, three straight guys hitting it into the OF, but Everett hits a bomb to LF. -
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) AIM doesn't work that well with certain Java applets. If your game or chat room is Java-related, I'd just try using them without AIM running. Ah, just tried it. It did it again, but thanks for trying to help.

I have this strange problem with my internet. Whenever I try to open up an internet game or go into the chat on this site, the web page just closes itself out of nowhere. If I try to open it in a new window, both windows close. This may or may not be related, but I can't talk to people with AOL while I'm on AIM. When I do, the entire AIM shuts down. Anyone have any clue what might be wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Tyson has never been a good boxer. He's lost every fight that he's had against a good boxer. He's just a sideshow or a train wreck, if you will. That's why people watch him. OT: What's up with that Vitali Klitchsko guy? I remember watching a couple of his fights...I loved that guy. Everyone booed him against Lennox Lewis, but he fought hard as hell and probably would have won that fight if it wasn't called. He was beating the crap out of Lewis even with a cut eye. After the fight, Lewis told Klitchsko that he'd give him another title shot to shut Vitali up becuase he was yelling at the judges. Lewis didn't realize the camera was right on him, and when Klitchsko told him to say it to the camera, Lewis walked away like he never said anything. He then retired. The crowd cheered Klitchsko after that and booed Lewis...it looked like a reverse of Rocky IV, since Vitali looked a lot like Ivan Drago. To make me like him more, Klitchsko came out to Hotel California by the Eagles.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) A few comments ... They need another bullpen arm, and have since mid April. Guardado has a full no trade clause and is throwing with a partially torn rotator cuff, that makes me very very nervous especially since he's got another year left on a big contract. They need an all purpose player who can more than capably sub at several positions, not the least of which is 1B. They have also needed this since mid April. I've known that they needed a bullpen arm, but now the problem is blatantly obvious. And now they might need two. I also agree on the back-up 1B thing, but that should be the easiest of our problems to solve. 1B is the easiest position to fill, didn't someone just release Travis Lee or something? Not saying to get him, but there's an option right there. Right now, I don't even care if KW has to give his left nut to get what we need. I hope he works quickly, though, because a bullpen like this one (as is) can ruin a lead really fast.

QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) He's not dissing this team. He's acknowledging we're a good team, but not quite as great as the '93 team. If you disagree, maybe our team should just go prove that they are better. Or maybe Frank shouldn't even say a word about it. You think the other players wanna hear this guy, who hasn't been with the club 2 weeks this year, say that they're no better than a team that didn't win the WS? After all the talk that Thomas was going to ruin the chemistry of this team, he's making the case against him easier by saying something this stupid.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Your sig is f***ing huge too. It looks big on my screen and I've got a 1280 X 800 resolution. I can't imagine how big it is on other peoples. Kalapse, it might be time to get rid of that sig of yours.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) This is the type of place I expect Freddy absolutely dominate in, hopefully he will and the offense will score enough runs to take 2 of 3 from The Pads. That is exactly what scares the hell out of me. He should dominate, therefore I have a terrible feeling that he'll get rocked. I do hope one of our pitchers throws a few brush-off pitches at Nevin, or even hit him. He's been doing too much b****ing the last few days and talking too much garbage to the media about us. Besides, his b****ing yesterday got the strikezone smaller for Buehrle. I never had anything against Phil Nevin, but now I really don't care for him at all. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:47 AM) A simple statement that everyone seems to forget about when discussing trades was the one made by Ozzie where he said he doesn't want to make any changes to this team. As scary as it sounds, I have a feeling that Ozzie is buying into our record as an overall representation of our team's ability. Again, I'm thrilled with our record, but Ozzie and/or KW are nuts if they think this particular team is good enough to compete for the World Series. Fathom, I don't believe Ozzie is as stupid as you or I like to think. He has to see that this bullpen is pretty weak. He would have to be blind not to. The bullpen is very close to being in shambles. Takatsu and Vizcaino still suck, Marte might be hurt, and Hermanson...who knows what's going on there. If none of those guys take a turn for the better, we're looking at two solid guys in the there. Even just three is bad, so two is awful. And about the Crede thing, I think you're right. The past week has let me know that he's going nowhere and I hereby disband the Joe Randa club . God, I really hope KW is working around the clock to get some more bullpen help. Hopefully, he can still get maybe Mercker and ( ) Guardado...and soon.

Based on the limited sample size that Nevin has seen, I really can't blame him for saying that. If you only saw the Sox twice this year and one of the games was last night's, you'd think they suck.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Agreed. You dance with the date you brought to the dance. Until Hermanson blew the game, there was no chance Ozzie was going to not go to him in a save situation. I've had the feeling for a little over a week that we're going to need a new closer. I really hope we can get Guardado or Wagner or some proven closer soon. Hermanson can set up, but he's looking weak right now. And to everyone else who thinks I'm making a knee-jerk reaction, I apologize ahead of time. This is just how I feel. Now this offense...well, it's a different story all together. Just a terrible loss that eats away at you.

I'm so depressed by this loss, that I don't even want to complain about it. And that's saying something for me. Wow, I just feel awful after how bad this game was.

My confidence in Hermanson is absolutely shot now. I expected him to blow this game when he came in. This f***ing sucks. Wagner and Guardado are looking pretty great right now. -

f***ing hell. Hermanson is now going to lose this game. He's been pretty bad recently. It's hard for me to say, but we might need to find a closer. -

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) thats Matt Lecroy That's true, he's much fatter. Either way, at least it was aggressive base-running. Let's get this game over. -

Don't complain, PK. If you weren't the fattest, slowest piece of s*** on the bases, you'd have been in there easy. -

Man, I really hope Ozzie isn't planning on bringing Vizcaino in for the 9th. I mean, I really, really hope he doesn't. -

I can't believe how predictable this offense is. Throw a rookie pitcher, a s***ty pitcher, or a s***ty rookie pitcher at us, and they'll be awful.
