  1. Johnny Damon was on steroids...and I s*** you not. One of my friends said all of last year that he was on the juice, and everyone thought he was crazy. He loses something like 25 pounds over the break, and he's got 2 homers this year (compared to 20 last year). I also suspect Trot, V-tek, Nomar, and even Ortiz possibly. Oh, and don't forget Gabe Kapler. He was offered an extension by the Red Sox and took less money to play in Japan (!) when the policy was announced.
  2. I had a lunch/breakfast type thing today because I haven't started working yet and I'm still in relax mode. I had donuts.
  3. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) In the BoSox/Cubs pitching matchups on the front page of the Southtown sports section the paper lists the starting pitcher for the Red Sox as "Brandon Arroyo". The commentators called him "Brandon" Arroyo all through the playoffs last year.
  4. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) b/c i wanted the feliz trade thread outta site, and didn't wan't to waste an hour doing so. Who are you to say what other people can talk about on this site? Leave it be.
  5. AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!!! Well, sort of.
  6. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) pitching change, to brian bruni After Lopez retired the first two batters on 3 pitches?
  7. Is Javier Lopez the guy that throws sidearm?
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) No one is "s***ting all over themselves" but .300 is "meh" for Ichiro. Hell, Iguchi has been hitting around .300 for most of the season so far and this is his rookie season in the MLB. Just bring up a simple topic for discussion, and people jump all over you for it. There was nothing wrong with the question or the discussion.
  9. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) i don't watch any of the new ones anymore, neither does anyone i know. ...sounds like its not exactly working. I don't either, but apparently someone is still watching. Enough people to keep the damn show on the air.
  10. So far today, he's 1-4 and he is down to a .305 average. I never believed that he'd approach .400, like some "analysts" said he might, but I never thought he'd be batting this low (for him). Anyone know what is wrong with this guy? Even with an awful offense last year, he broke the single-season hits record. I just don't know what's going on here.
  11. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) the simpsons stopped being good 5 years ago. we all know this is going to be pure crap with about 1000 celebrity cameos and a terrible plotline. The plots have gotten so bad that they just make fun of their own plotlines. To me, that just sounds like they're saying, "we don't give a s*** how bad this is, we know you'll still watch it and we're still comic geniuses (or is that genii?)."
  12. I love how Detroit is so desperate for anything that may or may not slightly help their crap team. You can almost hear the desperation in that line.
  13. SWEET! This is great news. Now I can see jokes be recycled for the third, fourth, and if I'm truly lucky, fifth time!
  14. I guess they forgot that the Rockies have one of the best offenses in baseball while playing in Coors...or that they've never been swept at home this year. They probably also overlooked the fact that the D-Backs just gave the Twins the game yesterday with absolutely no attempt to win. Oh yeah, and they forgot that the Sox have stuck it to the Twins repeatedly this year.
  15. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) You can criticize quite a few aspects of this Yankee team, but Rodriguez ain't one of them. I don't care what he's making. On 1st and 10 earlier today, Woody Paige said that A-Rod has replaced Sammy Sosa as the king of the meaningless homer. I haven't seen as much of A-Rod as I have of Sosa, but I'd think much less of him if it were true.

  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Don't forget Lyle Mouton, Bo Jackson, and Albert.. Darrin Jackson!
  18. What is your favorite athlete nickname? Mine is Rich Garces or "El Guapo." Every single time I hear that name, I laugh out loud. The idea of such a fat relief pitcher being called that just kills me. Let's hear some more funny or interesting ones.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Is there anyone other than me that is sick of the constant trades and pick-up ideas that have been popping up lately. I understand that some people think there are weaknesses on this team that could be addressed, but how many of them have cost us our season? We are still in first place and have the best record in the MLB, do you really think our team is that bad? I for one, am going to stop discussing trade rumors until July. You can join me if you want, but unless it my man-crush Eric Chavez, I wont no part of any transaction. This is the best Sox team I have ever seen, and I am loving the ride. The only trades I'm interested in are ones that will bring us a reliable reliever and one that gets us our boy, Chavez, or Randa. But since there's no more actual rumors about any of them, I'll just shut up about it for now.
  20. I'd never do that. Borchard's potential>>>>>>>>>Any potential that Clemens over showed. I'm clearly not one of the fans that he heard. I wanted Cameron to die
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Is that the number of HR's that Cameron hit off of Parque a few years back? Ughhh, I just got shivers thinking about that. That game was just about the worst I've seen...I was mad for days after it.
  22. My head hurts from trying to keep up with all of these trade rumors and ideas. For the sake of my head, please stop.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Sarcasm, no? You got me
  24. By KW saying he's not trading Everett and the fact that he's getting on a hot streak, we will probably swing a trade for Mota, a lesser prospect, and Cabrera, I'm guessing.
