  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Jim Bullard, Jeff Bajenaru Neil Cotts. I'm forgetting a few. Crap, I should've phrased it better. What are their handles?
  2. I can't help but laugh at the Giants. I hate everything about that team.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Ya, from time to time there are a few minor leaguers that frequent the site and post on occassion What are their names?
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) I know I would take the money today. But that is because my wife and I are 4 months pregnant and trying to figure out how to buy a house and pay exsisting bills. Baby is definately more important than baseball, and I would imagine with many people who said they would take the money, similarly complex situations would arise with their backrounds that dictate money being more important than baseball, no matter how much they love the Sox. All I know is $100,000 would pay off basically all of our exisiting debt (we owe $65k in student loans alone) and it would make finding a nice place to live in a good area, a lot easier to do. If that disappoints you, so be it. Congratulations on the baby
  5. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Why? The point Im making is , money isn't everything. The best things in life are free. Just remember real poverty?wealth is not a state of income but a state of mind. More than half the posters here would probably blow the money in less then a year, A white sox world series will live with you forever. ( at least if you live and die sox baseball everyday like I do) My ultimate happiness(sox ws) with my # 1 hobby can not be bought for $100,000, sorry. Say that when you need money. Sorry, I didn't realize you had such a sterling character.
  6. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) It's not only that he posts here He posts here?
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) Which means BMac. I'm not talking about us trading for him. I'm just talking about his status in that organization.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) 2)Hanley Ramirez is as untradeable as they're going to come in Boston. I've talked to some pretty hardcore Red Sox fans in the past 20 minutes, and they say that he's tradeable for a good deal (something that doesn't involve rentals).
  9. QUOTE(LauraJ14 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Uribe needs to get on base first before he thinks of stealing! Ah, yes. That will be the problem, it seems.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Boston is simply not going to trade Hanley Ramirez. They are totally adamant about it. They do have a catcher that they're pretty high on. His name is Kelly Schoppach. Since they just signed Varitek to that long deal, they can move him. I think they signed Renteria long-term, too, so I would Imagine they'd move Hanley Ramirez for the right price.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) That was coming out when the Sox were negotiating with Iguchi and even before then IIRC. Still Willie would be a starting 2nd baseman on some other teams in the league, like the Twins for starters. Then we should trade him. He'll have no use for us in AAA. He might be able to bring us something important, ship his ass out of here.
  12. I said this before and I'll say it again. After seeing this stat, I will be genuinely disappointed if Pods doesn't steal at least 8 bags in this series. Imagine how badly we'll f*** with their heads if we're just steals bases left and right at will. Hell, I'd even send Uribe a lot.
  13. QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Tino Martinez, All Star at first base? LOL If Tino Martinez and Paul Konerko are 2 of the top 3 vote getters at 1st base, I wonder who the 3rd guy is. I bet it's somebody else that's entirely non-deserving.
  14. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:50 AM) kill us? I forgot... the Sox's record is 19-37. Oh, wait.... Don't put words in my mouth. Geez, people on here love to do that. A player can kill us and we can still win.
  15. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) You mean like we always let Mike Sweeney kill us? That's exactly what I mean.
  16. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) The 1919 team took the money over a world series. Some of you guys are no better I guess. I stopped reading right there.
  17. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) We're playing in Coors, but we're not playing a destructive offense. We're playing the Colorado Rockies. If you get Clint Barmes and Todd Helton out, you're good. When's the last time we played a team that sucked and we didn't let their one or two good hitters kill us? The answer is never.
  18. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) I miss the Milkman... Why I'm right here. And Jabroni, that comment was hurtful and uncalled for.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) I would laugh if anyone said Griffey. I wouldn't be surprised. After all, Griffey was an all-star last year...and sadly, he'll probably be one again this year.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Ok I'm only going to ask this once. Would you prefer to see the payroll increase next season go towards Ken Griffey Jr. or Eric Chavez? Or if we don't get Chavez, let Konerko go. Get J.T Snow to platoon with Ross Gload until Casey Rogowski or Josh Fields are ready. Use the $10 million we'd still have, to get some more good bullpen arms, an upgrade at third base, and to resign Frank and the usual upgrades etc. Eric Chavez, no question. Actually, I don't even think it's a question.
  21. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) dude we lost fair and square get over it! What do you want us to talk about then? Timo, Harris, or Ozuna being sent down? Eric Chavez trade? Thomas or Everett trade?
  22. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Pods pinch ran for Everett later in the game, stole second, stole third, and we didn't get a run out of it. So, just because Pods is in the game doesn't mean we'll get a run...and do you really want another automatic out in the lineup (Timo or Crede, pick your poison) and worse defense at 1B in a tie game late? Were there any out at that time? Because I think there were. And when Konerko got on, he was the first batter of the inning.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) Even if the Phillies needed an outfielder, it would take a helluvalot more than Everett to get Wagner. They already have 5 outfielders -- Bobby Abreu, Pat Burrell, Endy Chavez, Kenny Lofton, and Jason Michaels. Yeah, they really don't need any outfielders at all. Braves do, but they have no bullpen really.
  24. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) there is no one else to play 1st besides Timo Ozuna has played there this year, he could have done it. And it wouldn't have killed us (most likely) to have Timo there for 1 inning.
  25. I wonder more why Ozzie didn't pinch run for Konerko in the 8th and then lay a bunt down to get whoever runs into second. You know, produce a run...like smallball.
