06/05/05 Game Thread vs. Cleveland

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) We're absolutely awful with bases loaded this season. Too many players trying for the grand slam instead of the 2 RBI single. At least this time it wasn't 0 or 1 out. It's a little more acceptable and easier to swallow when there's 2 outs. -

Oh, and now the Twins are up 5-2. The Yankees are the most expensive joke I've ever heard. -

QUOTE(kman @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) why cant we just hit this slob c.c. i mean come on. We should at least hit a couple hard balls. Because he owns us and we also don't like to sweep teams. Single for Everett. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Kevin Brown walks the bases loaded and then gives up a HBP. 2-2 tie. Twins still with only 1 out and the bases loaded. I truly hate Kevin Brown. Such a piece of s***. -

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) With the way Sabathia owns us and how the offense is doing, I don't see that as much of a stretch. -

Well, that inning took about 45 seconds. With the way they're playing, I don't understand how we can score at all today. -

Buehrle has gone to a full count or at least to 3 balls against about 4 or 5 hitters so far. -

QUOTE(kman @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) i hate everret everytime he is up to bat it seems like he is just hacking. I have no confidence in him, i hope the trade rumors are true. He really looks ridiculous. He's just throwing the bat out there hoping to make contact...and coming nowhere close. Widger grounds out, end of the 2nd. -
Yankees - vs- Twins. a tilt for the ages

Going to the top of the 6th, 2-0 Yankees still. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) I still want to see Rowand batting 3rd against lefties. He's easily our best hitter against lhp. Yeah, especially since he's been so hot recently. He'll probably double or something when he comes up, where it would have helped us in the first inning. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Anyone else beats that out. :headshake And he was out by about 3 feet. A few things I didn't like about that first inning. Ozuna shouldn't be swinging on the first pitch (maybe Iguchi should lead off when there's no Pods). I also hate it when the crowd gasps on a routine out. -
QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Really??? I didnt know that, I guess I was wrong, I am surprised that someone has done that. Thanks for the answer though. Now which guys have done it while not on steroid's Alex Rodriguez.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
Milkman delivers replied to DBAHO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) The Angels need a DH. This is probably wishful thinking, but maybe Everett and a prospect for Casey Kotchman? Then it could be see ya later Paulie. How's Kotchman's defense? -
QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Bobby Abreu is currently on pace for 40 hr's and 40 sb's. My question to you is has there ever been a 40-40 guy in MLB history. I said no, but my friend said yes, but he cant give me any proof to back that up. Any information would be helpful. Thanks Jose Canseco did it. A few years ago, Alfonso Soriano almost did it.

Yankees - vs- Twins. a tilt for the ages

Top of the 4th today in Minnesota and it's 2-0 Yankees. Robinson Cano homered in the 1st and none other than MVP Jason Giambi hit an RBI single in the 2nd. Right now there's 1 out with runners on 1st and 2nd. -

I don't think there's much point in arguing who we should or shouldn't trade with these two because we have no clue what either one of them would bring us right now. I love FT and I like Everett a lot, but I'll have no problem in trading either one of them away if it means that the team gets better. I'll miss whoever goes, but winning is much more important to me at this point. -
Crede is still on the shitheap
Milkman delivers replied to drowninginflame's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Way to go Joe! He won the game for them. He moved the runner over for Pods to be able to get the SF RBI & then he hit the two run homer. I give Crede 2.5 R credit. Maybe there is more to the 8/64 then we first thought. I've always hated the fact that baseball stats don't include a column for plays in which a hitter moved a runner over. I would call it OTB because it's bases accrued on outs. The epitome of small ball if you will. Ozzie knows because he's got it on his score cards. How does your head not explode when you look at these stats? -
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) If I were Ozzie, I'd stick Timo at SS briefly during a blowout game or send him in to pitch. Move him around as a sort of running gag. He's already a f***ing joke.
-
QUOTE(BigNDfan80 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) You're going to keep Timo instead of Willie? That doesn't even make sense. ^Smart guy
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) Anyone think that Kenny is looking to deal Willie for a lefty reliever or a 3rd baseman? Maybe his idea is to send Willie to Charlotte where he can tear it up and raise his trade value even more. Keep in mind that D'Angelo Jimenez probably won't be on the Reds after this season with his clubhouse issues and Aurilia is old. They will need another 2nd baseman. Kenny could be looking at a Willie for Randa swap. The Reds could then have Willie at 2nd base and move Ryan Freel to 3rd base. Keep in mind that Kenny has dealt with the Reds in the past as well (Scott Sullivan). I could deal with that. I just don't want to see Willie go to the minors because of favoritism.

I always wanted to see a player or manager just punch an ump in the face...this is one step closer. Oh gee, he sounds really hurt. I hope he pulls through.
