Yankees - vs- Twins. a tilt for the ages
Milkman delivers replied to Benchwarmerjim's topic in The Diamond Club
Top of the 4th today in Minnesota and it's 2-0 Yankees. Robinson Cano homered in the 1st and none other than MVP Jason Giambi hit an RBI single in the 2nd. Right now there's 1 out with runners on 1st and 2nd. -
White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
Milkman delivers replied to DBAHO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think there's much point in arguing who we should or shouldn't trade with these two because we have no clue what either one of them would bring us right now. I love FT and I like Everett a lot, but I'll have no problem in trading either one of them away if it means that the team gets better. I'll miss whoever goes, but winning is much more important to me at this point. -
Crede is still on the shitheap

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Way to go Joe! He won the game for them. He moved the runner over for Pods to be able to get the SF RBI & then he hit the two run homer. I give Crede 2.5 R credit. Maybe there is more to the 8/64 then we first thought. I've always hated the fact that baseball stats don't include a column for plays in which a hitter moved a runner over. I would call it OTB because it's bases accrued on outs. The epitome of small ball if you will. Ozzie knows because he's got it on his score cards. How does your head not explode when you look at these stats? -
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) If I were Ozzie, I'd stick Timo at SS briefly during a blowout game or send him in to pitch. Move him around as a sort of running gag. He's already a f***ing joke.

QUOTE(BigNDfan80 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) You're going to keep Timo instead of Willie? That doesn't even make sense. ^Smart guy

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) Anyone think that Kenny is looking to deal Willie for a lefty reliever or a 3rd baseman? Maybe his idea is to send Willie to Charlotte where he can tear it up and raise his trade value even more. Keep in mind that D'Angelo Jimenez probably won't be on the Reds after this season with his clubhouse issues and Aurilia is old. They will need another 2nd baseman. Kenny could be looking at a Willie for Randa swap. The Reds could then have Willie at 2nd base and move Ryan Freel to 3rd base. Keep in mind that Kenny has dealt with the Reds in the past as well (Scott Sullivan). I could deal with that. I just don't want to see Willie go to the minors because of favoritism.

I always wanted to see a player or manager just punch an ump in the face...this is one step closer. Oh gee, he sounds really hurt. I hope he pulls through.

06/05/05 Game Thread vs. Cleveland
Milkman delivers replied to aboz56's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) As NUKE would say, RIP EMMMMMMMMM! Hopefully Ozzie doesn't put in another horrible Sunday lineup. Ha, you know he will. I think this is the perfect opportunity to go for the sweep. Buehrle on the mound, their hitting coach just got fired. They have to be a little demoralized, and if we beat their ace, they might just pack it in. -
QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) And the same cannot be said for you? I'm absolutely not biased in this situation. I'm plainly using stats and performance.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Randa>Chavez? Wow. This is probably his first year watching baseball and he's just using the present stats. Seems a lot of people do that. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) X-Factors? What? Is his OBP of under .300 last year, and this year, an X-Factor? Is his ability to play a s***ty first-base an x-factor? Mercy, Perez is one of the worst players in all of baseball, and he's making a million f***ing bucks. It's such a joke that he's on our major league team. Give me a f***ing break, this would be such a terrible, God awful move. And, I guess it proves that performance doesn't mean a damn thing, because Harris has played so much better than Perez has. Ozzie's never wrong. Ozzie's also never biased. You should know that by now.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) I said it once, and I will say it again (only this time I don't feel like rigging it) one million votes for Timo. There's no point in rigging this one. I'll be disappointed if Timo doesn't get 90% of the vote. -

The Twins' roster is full of clutch hitters. I'll pick them to win almost any game that's tied at this point. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Yes, he has. I think he's like their Neal Cotts with the inherited runners. -
We know who I'd pick, how about you?
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) Sign me up Me too.

This is f***ing ridiculous. I can't believe anybody would want Timo over Willie, but what would I know...Willie's only better.
-
QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) When his f***ing hit helps win the game, yes, that means he's clutch. Then what about the many more other times where he's hurt the team?
-
QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) I never said that one hit would earn him a spot on the roster...I just said that he came in when we needed him, got it pal? I'm speaking in general, pal.
-
QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) Well I guess have the team should be kicked off in order to make room for those who are hot now. This is a f***ing joke. Timo Perez is batting .197 and he's had plenty of at-bats. He sucks and he gets a random hit and he's f***ing clutch?

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) twins have guys on first and second, no outs They just said there was an injury delay on gameday. What was it? -
QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) He saved our ass on Memorial Day... Holy s***, this is exactly what I was scared of. I knew when he got that one hit, he'd earn a spot on the roster.
