  1. Finally out of that inning, The Count has thrown about 159 pitches so far. f*** you, Timo. f*** you for letting him play 1B, Ozzie.
  2. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) For those of you that were asking why timo couldnt use pauly's glove, its because he's left handed and pauly is right. Hahaha, oh right. Wow, I can't believe I hadn't thought of that.
  3. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 05:10 PM) He just said he thinks the Sox right now are a tribute to the work Jerry Reinsdorf has done for this team. Agree? I don't know about all of that because I don't know that much about JR, but Justice really gave the Sox some respect on PTI.
  4. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Or restated: home much financial risk must be assumed by the trading partner before top level prospects can be considered in such a deal? If Oakland pays 70% of that deal, then I'm more likely to give them McCarthy. If they only accept 30%, then might get Honel out of me. 70%?! There's no way that come anywhere near that.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Yeah, I heard that. They said he had to go get one with from the dugout. Is Konerko being a jagoff and not letting him use it?
  6. Looks like we're gonna pass that 250 mark (wish I could say the same for Crede...or Konerko...or Dye...or Everett)
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Maybe we should bring back Herbert Perry Where is he anyways? Last i saw of him he was with the rangers last year. Best I could tell is that he's back on his milk farm in Florida.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Delgado didn't want to come to this team. He proved it last year when KW traded for him, but he wouldn't decline his no trade clause. Hell they traded for him twice and had Ozzie talk to him and he just didn't want to come. Just wondering, what players would have been involved in those trades?
  9. You say Happy, I say Birthday! ______ Birthday! ______ Birthday! A throwback for anyone who's ever been to Chuck E. Cheese's.
  10. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) I don't think the contract will be that bad because Paulie won't be on the books after this season or if they trade him b4 then, I would really like to see Chavez on the Sox. Great point.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) If he hits like he has been this season for the amount he is getting paid, fields>chavez. I'm sure he'll come out of it. There are a bunch of reason to believe he will, but you know that just as well as I do, so I'm not getting into an argument for the sake of arguing.
  12. Why do we care what happens to Fields? I can't be positive, but I'm 99% sure that Chavez>>>>>>>>>Fields.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) He doesnt want to be Mike Sweeney, who is trapped on a terrible team for years, who basically wont get rid of him. If you were him, would you want to waste your career rebuilding on a team who is using most of its payroll on you? To answer your question, No, I wouldn't. But, keep in mind that Sweeney's and Chavez's situations are a little different. Sweeney's Royals sucked the whole time he was there, except for one year. Chavez's A's have been good, except for this year. And I do realize that they'll be bad for a few more years now, too.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) He expects to get dealt because there is no need for a guy making 10+ million dollars a year to be one of the worst teams in the division. I could see if he was producing that they would keep him just for the fans he draws to the park nightly. But if he continues to hit like this all year those fans will turn on him quickly no matter how well he has done in the past. I'm sure it's a little bit of both.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) No, more like he understands how small budget teams and baseball in general works. "I signed this deal knowing i will be on a contending team, and once the A's become a non-contending team I expects to be dealt to a contender." Cmon, that doesn't sound like he wants to get out of there at all?
  16. I don't really like his attitude. He's been on the A's his whole career and they've always contended. Now, they hit their first rough season and he sounds like he's already got one foot out the door. , Mr. Chavez.
  17. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) naw, think green not white. That's what I thought you were getting at, but the Dusty thing threw me off.
  18. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Kind of a funny story...I was at a party with Dustin back in 2000 (when he was still a mediocre starter with the cardinals). Basically, he partly grew up in the same hometown as a bunch of friends of mine from the Detroit area. I didn't really talk to him much that night, as I didn't know him and didn't think much of him as a pitcher. Hilariously, two of my buddies came into the living room complaining that he had essentially bogarted their stash, if you catch my drift. He was kind of a party animal that night. We immediately started calling him Dusty thereafter. Kind of ironic that he's a Sox now and so dominant. I love rooting for him. You're saying he's a coke head?
  19. I particularly like the part about Eckersley. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...phil&id=2072998
  20. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Wasn't Eddy hurt last yr at the deadline? I think they kept him because they knew they were going to go out and spend some money to try to contend, like they did. Turns out that it blew up in their faces, so maybe they will trade him now.
  21. I'm not a big fan of Cotts, but I'll give him his credit when it's due. He's been solid recently and I think he's a perfect mop-up guy.
  22. QUOTE(quade36 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Don't give up on Vizciano or Shingo just yet. Why the hell not?
  23. I'd love to have Everyday Eddie on the Sox. This deal could solidify the bullpen.
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) I just hope that everyone keeps b****ing about Crede, everytime there is a Crede sucks thread, he goes out and hits a bomb. There's always a Crede sucks thread (mainly because he truly does suck), and he hits a home run once in a while. There is no correlation.
  25. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) That makes sense. Didn't know that. I just know we could put a lineup out there to sit cruddys' ass down. He is slow, he hits a hr 2 times a month, hits safely 25% of the time. This guy is just bad. Your randa Idea may not be so bad after all. He doesn't hit 25% of the time. He hits like 21% of the time. Oh, and I've been calling for Randa for quite a while.
