  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) I am just shocked that some people wouldn't trade Crede for Randa. There is no way that the supposed downgrade in defense from Crede to Randa outweighs the huge upgrade in offense from Crede to Randa. You'd think that Crede won a gold glove...or that he doesn't make dumbass mistakes way too often for a "stellar" defender.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) He makes a good point, I just dont think its worth all that much to bring Randa in, when we are going to have to give up something other than just Crede. And if we see that Crede isnt worth a damn, do you think that other teams wont see that as well? Im not saying that Crede is the long term answer, but one of the main reason the team, and our pitching staff (Garland) is doing so well is the defense, so im not that worried about the offense from the bottom of the order at this point. I would like to see what adding Frank does to the middle of the order, and wait and see what big player KW has in mind before the break. (cause you know there is something) I really wish the Chavez rumor was true. It wouldn't be a very good prospect at all. Just some marginal guy, that's my belief. The Reds are seriously looking to free up money on the books. If they do this trade, they let Crede finish out this year and plug in a minor leaguer next year. And Randa has a better fielding percentage and range factor.
  3. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) If all Cruddy is good for is his defense, then he f***ing sucks. Exactly!
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Its going to cost a prospect, no team would just take that trade straight up. The Reds are going to have a fire-sale. They want money off the books, and this will do just that. I also said that it might take a prospect, but not a very good one.
  5. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Randa also has the dreaded "intangibles" that Crede doesn't have. He rarely strikes out, he can bunt, he can hit to the right side, etc. All things you need a 8th or 9th place hitter to do. It's been long enough, Crede has had plenty of chances and it's not like he's 23 or 24. If you get a chance to move Crede for Randa straight up, do it, IMHO. I like this guy^
  6. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) randa is an intriguing possibility and i also dont feel we would have 2 give up 2 much 2 aquire "panda randa" but i dont feel he can keep this good play up all year long BTW how old is randa?? He's not far from his career numbers at all. He's 35. Like someone else said, he has a better range factor and fielding percentage than Crede. The Reds are in a selling mode right now. Randa is not a big name, he's not going to require any good prospects. If the deal can't be made straight-up, it would probably only cost us one fairly decent prospect. Randa makes 2.15 million this year and Crede makes 400,000. The Reds will probably want to drop that money, and that's hardly a big contract for us to take on.
  7. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Looking for a little help tonight: Does anyone have a Pepsi product in the house? I'm looking to buy tonight's tickets on Ticketmaster, but I'm having some difficulty without that damn Pepsi UPC. Thanks in advance for the help, it's really appreciated! Do you just need the numbers off a can?
  8. Misleading title = disappointed me. And why would this story be in Vanity Fair?
  9. Why couldn't this be a day game? If we get owned by Lackey again tonight, I don't know what I'm going to do. You know, besides b**** for a while.
  10. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Girlfriend, right sure you do Ha, nice. There's really nothing to it, though. I just use my thumb on one side, index finger on the other, and bring the two together and pull away from the skin at the same time. Once in a while though, only one of the latches will unhook, but I guess only one would be too easy.
  11. The only way this thread would make me happy is if the rest of the title said, "I'm retiring from being a baseball analyst because I'm both biased and a raving dumbass."
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Just remember...these threads are only fun until someone loses an eye. Then they're hilarious.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) It was the rocket arm that made everyone fall in love with him. And from what I remember, he couldn't control that rocket at all. He'd have a guy thrown out by a mile, except the ball was in centerfield.
  14. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) Turned 20 a week ago. Turned 20 a couple days ago.
  15. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) I don't know...I had a guy friend who could unhook a rear bra with one hand (and very stealthly) it really was an artform. Unless of course he took you for surprise with a hug in the caf. But, man, nothing is sexier than a man who can get in your knickers (no matter how complex) expertly. With the possible exception of someone *not* being able to get into them at all. The look of torment and frustration is also pretty hot. I take my girlfriend's bra off with one hand all the time. I really don't understand why some people have so much trouble.
  16. I'm glad we won, don't get me wrong, but I'm afraid Timo just won himself a spot on this team and that pisses me off.
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) I swear this has happened, the last 5 times we've had a full house over the past few seasons. That's why people aren't gonna show up as much after this.
  18. I just realized that I'm going to be pissed whether we win this game or not. Nothing is going right.
  19. Hopefully after the further suckiness of Crede and others from today and the possibility of a Frank Thomas injury, KW will go out and make some kind of move. We need a change.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) I'm guessing with the upcoming roster move we may have seen the last of Timo for a while. We've already thought that. It didn't happen then, hopefully it does now.
