  1. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) AJP has gone from red hot to god awful over the course of a week. He's back to swinging at anything within a foot of the plate. That's this team's MO.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 22, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) A couple of my friends who were really into it said Windu is supposed to be the best swordsman of all the jedi while yoda had the best mastery of the force. So I think it was more Windu being that good. Of course I thought the same thing you did...they want on to call me a moron...I called them dorks Na, it's clear that the emperor was playing possum. First, he easily beats three other Jedis (and I believe they were all Masters) before he goes after Windu. Second, he just threw himself onto the ground for no reason and took a position to make him seem helpless. And even the things he says are really ridiculous sounding. He says things like, "Oh, woe is me" and "I have no more power," but he easily tosses Windu about 5,000 feet in the air after that. He was faking so that Anakin would take his side. Besides, even is Windu is a really good swordsman, what would that have to do with being able to hold back the Emperor's powers? He'd probably be able to hold his own in a straight sword fight, but probably not when the Emperor used the force.
  3. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 23, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) That's not true though... Luke knew at the time of the convervation (on the Endor moon after the Obi Wan spirit had told him on Degobah), and it was revealed to Leia shortly thereafter when tells Luke, "I know... somehow I've always known..." I did a little checking online after I saw the movie because I had a lot of questions and I'm not one of those people that knows everything about Star Wars. This is what I got: People with the force have strong ties to the past and future. Since Leia was the daughter of Anakin (the strongest in the force), she most likely had the some of the force, too, but she didn't know it. She could have had visions of her mother because of the force, but she assumed they were memories because she didn't understand the force. Again, I didn't know this before I read it online. I'm not one of those Star Wars nuts.

  5. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) McCarthy showed me that he's on the way to becoming a special pitcher, but he also showed me that he's got some more work to do down at AAA before that's going to happen. By the end of the season, maybe he'll be ready, but I'm glad he's going back to AAA to further his development. He seems to have a penchant for serving up the longball, something that he can hopefully correct before we see him at the ML level again. Also, did anyone else notice that he hardly ever threw his changeup? I didn't see him throw it at all, and when he pitched in spring training, that seemed to be a very good pitch for him. Maybe the Sox should do the same thing to him as the Twins did to Santana. Send him back to the minors and tell him to throw the changeup constantly and hone it. Imagine that?
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) That would make sense. The Reds aren't going anywhere and appear to be in sell / salary-dumping mode. Send them Cruddy and a prospect or two for Randa and we can all be happy. I would even try to get Kent Mercker if he wasn't such a tool last season with the Flubs. I don't think Randa would cost us Crede and two prospects. If they're dumping salaray, we might not even have to give them a prospect at all. Crede for Randa straight-up would help them lose a bit of salary.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Joe Randa. Book it. Do you really believe we'll get him? I've been saying we should get him since last year, so this would make me extremely happy.
  8. Guess I'm going out tonight then. Have fun, everyone.
  9. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 28, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) sorry if i insulted u and ure white stonewashed jeans.jk I'm not really a jeans guy. Herb, on the other hand, seems to enjoy them. Anyway, how do you know if someone is typing?
  10. QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 28, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Anyone who thinks the Twins can catch us are crazy. Yeah, just like the last few years. We're invincible.
  11. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 28, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) u were typing for 10 minutes to state the obvious as per usual I was waiting to post whether the Twins held on or if the Jays came back. You know, in case somebody else would want to know. You really don't have to be a jagoff about it.
  12. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 28, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) im still waiting for milkman to state the obvious as he has been tying now for about 10 minutes What's that?
  13. Ah, the evil empire and the...uh, well...other evil empire.
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 28, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Twins leading the Blue Jays 4-1 in the 5th inning. We better win today. At 3 games, a lead is no longer comfortable at all. They have to start winning because this lead could disappear in a week or two. Then we won't be able to say we have the best record in our own division anymore, let alone in all of baseball. Only then will people actually start admitting that we have some problems on this team.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Ahhh, I see. Well, the Giants just love older players so this should come as no surprise. Um, what happened?
  16. Wouldn't it be nice for our team to crush AAA pitchers like we're supposed to do? Ahhhh, dreams
  17. I'd much rather KW make the move way before the deadline. The longer he waits, the higher the price for anyone. I loved it last year when he got Garcia really early.
  18. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Jabroni, you are right on here. I'm so sick of watching Crazy Carl swing through pitches down the middle. Although I'm not as big of a Gload fan as others on this board, he's got a knack for making contact with the ball and that is just what the doctor ordered for this offense. Not to mention that he's damn good defensively as well. Anyone else thinking that Gload is going to get the same pitches that Carl has been, except Gload is going to crush them? I'm thinking just that. Ross will go on a tear, you heard it hear first.
  19. Let's go offense. I can't watch the rest of the game. I just have to hope. Have fun, guys.
  20. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) what are you gonna do about it guys? all they can do is hit out of it. So lets see were winning with timely hitting meaning clutch to me so as long we get the "W" fine with me With even a decent offense, we'd probably have about 10 more wins. Every single win counds when we still have the Twins on our asses. They won't go away, I guarantee it. How many times in the past have we thought we had the Twins beat? Too many. We just don't want to accept a s***ty ass offense like this.
  21. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Guys seriously what was ozzie plan before this season. if your lookin for big boppers come in and do it your wrong. Ozzie told ya we would win close games with pitching defense and timely hitting. I guess no one notice that. Ozzie's plan was to produce runs on a normal basis. We're still up and down quite a bit.
  22. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Our offense will come just give it time Two months isn't enough time?
  23. I've never given up on a game this early, but this one is over. I'm so sad to say this, too.
